The historical impact of the villa made it magical.
The host family is fantastic. They make you feel completely at home.
The area is idyllic.
This property fulfilled all of our images of what a Tuscan vacation would be. The family was incredibly gracious, hospitable and helpful. It was a stunning experience. Having been built on Etruscan ruins and having a history that can be traced to ca. 1100 A.D., this property was the perfect place for us - a group of teachers - to be.
The pictures on the web site do not come close to doing justice to the estate.
Spaciousness and grandeur of the estate, and the family that owned it. It was stunning. I was responsible for finding the villa where our group of 30 would be staying. When I was asked what was the best part of our 2 weeks in Tuscany, I replied that it was the awed and stunned reaction of my colleagues when they arrived at the end of the cedar-lined drive at the villa. I am very happy that I took my Travel Advisor's recommendation and chose this property. The villa and the 2 dinners that the owners arranged for us where nothing short of magical.
There were no urban or suburban developments nearby. It was convenient to all the major Tuscan cities and hill towns.
Nearby Events or Locales:
Monteriggioni was within a 30-45 minute walk. This walled town was the spectacular view from almost any place on the estate. It was magical.
Tips or Restaurants:
Don't be hesitant ask the owners about suggestions for restaurants they never steered us wrong.
The estate is located on the top of a hill facing the charming walled medieval town of Monteriggioni. It takes about 40 minutes to walk through the fields to reach Monteriggioni, where there are restaurants, a supermarket, pharmacy, gas station, and a church.Florence: 45 kmSiena: 10 kmCastellina Scalo: 4 kmMonteriggioni: 2 kmBus stop: 1 km
