This 2 bedroom, 1 bath cottage is located in a secluded area of Southern Maryland. The home sits in the sand, just steps from the clear, calm, shallow waters of the Chesapeake Bay. The home has a large fully screened front porch that overlooks the beach and the water. Watch your kids play on the quiet, private beach right in front of you as you relax on the porch. This small neighborhood has a vast expanse of sandy beach in both directions. Take a walk either way to explore the beautiful natural setting. Catch your own crabs in the creek, just a short walk from the house. Bring your fishing poles and cast a line and catch fish from the shore. Bring your kayak and glide along the flat morning waters of the bay or venture up the creek into the secluded pond.

The home has everything you need for a relaxing stay. Full kitchen, bath and laundry room will accommodate all your needs. The home has one 65inch TV with satellite stations in living room and new flat screen TV’s with DVD in each bedroom.

There are some local restaurants, parks and marinas. You could also take a short trip into neighboring towns to enjoy other activites...or just sit on the beach and do nothing.

My family, 4 adults and 1 child stayed for 1 week. The beach is right outside the door, it was wonderful! It was great to not have to bring linens and to have ready use of a washer & dryer.

We caught enough crabs for a great meal! The swimming was limited due to the jellyfish but we had a couple days to boogie board and make some new friends. We did do a fishing charter with Captain Mike from Buzz's Marina, he was WONDERFUL!!! Bringing a 7 year old to such a secluded, quiet area was difficult, she was 'very bored' playing games and watching tv can become tiresome. So, bring a friend for them to play with.

The PERFECT quiet beach cottage stay

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here for 3 nights in July and it was heaven! My husband, 3 year old, and small dog had a wonderful time at this beach cottage. The home has everything you need. The house was exactly as you see, all the linens and towels were clean and the home was neat and clean. The beds were very comfy. Air conditioners, washer/dryer worked great, TVs, coffee maker, etc.

Our favorite part was the big screened in porch and how CLOSE you are to the water. All day and night you have amazing views and sights and sounds of the water. Sunrise was amazing while sipping coffee from the porch. Each night after my daughter went to bed, we could watch TV or play cards and have cocktails on the porch. Stargazing at night is FANTASTIC. The charcoal grill came in handy each night for dinner, and the deck off the house is great for eating with big clean/new wood and picnic tables.

Its a quiet cozy place on a quiet and cozy beach and block. Nice neighbors if you even see any! Lots of great crabbing a short walk away, we did not crab but saw a few families each day walk by with a full bucket!

The state park is a short drive away, and the owner has a great packet listing what is around (stores, etc). If you are looking for lots of actions and attractions - this is not the place for you. But if you are looking for a beach front, clean and neat place to rest and get some sun and be on your own beach - then this is IT! We will certainly be coming back here.

Our Family Special Place!!!

  • 5 of 5

This is a very special location and house. We love Ira. He is always available to talk, and always very pleasant. The location is beautiful. My family and I love having the shoreside as our backyard, and being able to walk a short way to an inlet creek, and catch crabs. We love we can bring our dog she loves this place just as much as we do. This is a destination we schedule every year, and this year we are going more than just once.

Our favorite private weekend getaway

  • 5 of 5

We adore this sweet private remote cottage. Cute and clean inside, great screened in porch that is steps from the water. A short walk to the inlet where you are sure to catch crabs for dinner. We also love that we can bring our dog and that he's welcome on the beach. Tons of birds that any birdwatchers will love! We have been twice and will be back annually as long as we can. Definitely our favorite driving distance (from Philly)beach vacation spot!

perfect private beach location

  • 5 of 5

This was our 2nd year staying at Ira's beach cottage. I can't say enough about the property and location. It's a relaxing getaway plain and simple. The screened in porch is by far my favorite spot to sit and just look at the bay the birds the boats and even the occasional fighter jet from the pax river naval base 16 miles north. The house is clean and has everything you need as far as towels linens and dishes and cookware. This is the kind of place you go to in calm bay waters and just enjoy nature without the crowds of people. It is very hard to leave here and go back to the reality of work and daily life. Highly recommend!

perfect little cottage on the beach, nicely updated

  • 5 of 5

Spent the holiday weekend at Ira's lovely beach cottage in Maryland. The perfect spot for small kids - warm, shallow water and quiet beaches. And great for adults, too! you can put the kids to bed and sit ion the screened - or on the beach! - and still be in close proximity to sleeping kids. the cottage is basic, but has everything you need - and the kitch and bathroom are nicely updated. a perfect getaway, less than 2 hours from DC. We'll be back.
