This home was newly constructed in 2011. The house is about 300 yards to the YMCA. 0.8 miles to the south entrance of Peninsula State Park. 1.3 miles to the downtown Fish Creek corner. The Top of The Hill Shops are a 0.5 miles.

This home is 1,700 sq. ft. and within walking distance of the Gibraltar High School area. This property borders a trail that leads directly into Peninsula State Park and right to countless miles of hiking trails. (About a 200 yd walk and you are in the park)

There are two full baths in this home. The lower bath has a ceramic tile walk in shower. The upper bath has a tub/shower. Both baths have ceramic tile flooring.

The main living area of the house has wood flooring. All bedrooms and the upstairs loft are carpeted. The two lower bedrooms have king beds. One upper bedroom has a queen bed and the other bedroom a queen and twin bed.

This house is located on a private drive-way and offers private seclusion. The back yard is wooded and borders an undeveloped area. A camp fire area and firewood is on site for your enjoyment. Fire wood is provided.

We especially enjoy biking and walking in Peninsula State Park. A great walking trail is right out the back door and into the park.

Hard to believe we found such a wonderful place to stay. We all felt so at home and had a great time together as a family. The weather this past week was awesome. It made for great golfing with plenty of shopping. The evenings were beautiful which lead to campfires every night. Our little one enjoyed his many walks through the woods to the BP gas station and even into Peninsula State Park!

Lots of space to relax in!

This house had everything we needed, very well stocked and plenty of room. It was in a quiet neighborhood just a few blocks from down town. The bedrooms were good sized and not over crowded with furniture, like some houses we have stayed at. The living room had enough seating and was comfortable. The fire pit and back patio were great for relaxing and enjoying the evening after a full day of activities. The only thing we were disappointed in was the cleanliness. Something in the utility closet really smelled, which is probably why there was a air freshener plugged in near it. The shower on the main level was covered in pink mold, which means it had not been cleaned for quite a while. I cleaned it....ick! The dust on the blinds, behind the furniture and on decor was thick. I understand that it is hard to clean a whole house in 6 hours, but for the price paid, these things should have been done.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your response and we are glad you enjoyed most of your experience with your stay. We strive to provide a very good experience for all of our guests. We are sorry though that you found the house not as clean as we would expect. Not sure what happened with the shower. Your comments were shown to the cleaning crew from that day and it sure would seem the complete wipe down of the shower was missed and yes it is suppose to be completely cleaned after each and every guest. We passed your comments on to the guests that were in the house that next week and they didn’t notice any uncleanliness or odors. Regardless, this past Saturday’s cleaning had one of the owners spending 30 minutes completely disinfecting and scrubbing out the shower. It is now very clean to say the least. The odor you reported was new to me but the utility closet does have a drain that is never used. In the drain is a water trap which stops gases from escaping. Over the years it likely dried up which then could allow gas smells to come through if a vapor push occurs. We poured water in the trap and will make sure it is blocked going forward. All the house blinds have now been cleaned as well and will be cleaned on a regular basis. We do expect a clean house each and every week. Thank you again for your comments. Please report these early in your stay or when we contact you to see how things are going for you. We will send someone there promptly to rectify any cleaning or maintenance issues.

Wonderful home rental in Fish Creek, Wi.

My family and I just spent a week at this lovely home in Fish Creek Wi. It was furnished so nicely and the kitchen was very convenient and well stocked. There was even an electric griddle and a waffle maker. Even spices in the pantry. We have stayed in a lot of places in the U.S. Mexico, England & Norway and never have had so many things supplied including laundry soap. Thanks to the Ripley's for a wonderful stay and it was so close to Peninsula State Park which we just love also.

Great Spot to Spend Relaxing with Family!

Overall, this was the perfect size house for our family of 8 adults. Each of the four couples had their own room, which gives some needed space and privacy at the end of the day. The common areas in the kitchen, dining, living and fire pit areas were spacious enough for all 8 of us to spend time together. We've stayed in other towns along the peninsula but always seem to come back to Fish Creek. It's always never too far from anything, but if you don't feel like driving a ways, there are plenty of shops and restaurants just down the road. Rooms were clean, and the beds were at least queen size and comfortable. We could have fit one more person in a single bed in one of the rooms. Will definitely consider this affordable place for the family next time we visit Door county!

Great House + Great Location = Great Vacation!

We rented this house for a birthday and New Year's weekend combo. I want to start off with saying how great of a host Rick is. He was so helpful leading up to and during our stay. He recommended things to do and places to eat. One restaurant he recommended was the English Inn, we tried their fish fry and it was fabulous! I hadn't been to Door County since I was toddler, so it was wonderful to get recommendations from someone that knows the area well. On Friday night and early Saturday morning it snowed, but Rick was up shoveling before we were even awake!

The house is located on a lot with 2 other houses, however we felt very secluded. The backyard, especially after the snow, was beautiful. The house was also very accommodating for our group of 8. The house was very clean and I appreciated that the mattresses had zip-covers on them. In the past I've rented other houses and I can honestly say, none were as well stocked and equipped as this one. I've been to houses that didn't supply toilet paper, garbage bags, hand or dish soap, let alone have a fully stocked kitchen for cooking. This place had it all! It was really a breath of fresh air.

The other thing I loved about this house was how close it was to everything. It's within walking distance to Peninsula State Park, super close to the 'downtown' Fish Creek area, which was great for checking out local shops, not to mention all the wineries that are within a 10 min drive.

Thank you again to Rick and his wife for being such great hosts and sharing such a special place. We definitely plan on returning!
