About Dotsie Poli

Welcome to our home! We hope that you will enjoy our home as much as we do. Each season has it's own wonderful memories from walking on the beach with the lake frozen over, swimming in the lake, wine tasting, apple picking and the haunted corn maze. With many repeat renters we feel as though our family home has become a second home to many other families. Peter and Dotsie Poli

Girls weekend!

  • 5 of 5

Lovely home for our girlfriend get-away! The home is beautiful, Dotsie is a great host. The few small minor issues we had were promptly addressed and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The location is private enough and close to everything! Sunset and beach are breathtaking. Lovely weekend and the home made is so very relaxing and enjoyable for our large group of 10 women!

Still my favorite VRBO ever

  • 5 of 5

I planned a cousins reunion in October 2015 and when I left, I just knew I had to share my experience with others. Last week five good friends joined me and were instantly in love with the stunning views, the warm vibrant colors, the inviting cozy bedrooms and all the various spaces to hang out on three floors overlooking Lake Michigan. Lots of gorgeous landscaping has been added on the path to the lake. We were on the go every day - Art Prize in Grand Rapids, exploring and shopping in Douglas, Saugatuck and Holland. We enjoyed our wine around the fireplace every night watching the sunset. This is the best house I have ever stayed in! My friends already have a date penciled in for a return trip next October.

So relaxing and beautiful views!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time during our stay at this home. It's on the beach and has beautiful views from all the windows and decks. The house is decorated beautifully and is very clean. The owners are very nice people and we hope to rent again next year!

You can see the storms roll in and unbelievable sunsets that are breath taking.

Loved everything about it!

  • 5 of 5

Nine of us arrived on a crisp fall day and immediately ran through the house choosing our bedrooms. It was our biannual cousins' reunion and I was anxious that the house would please everybody. It turns out that this house will be a very hard act to follow. The decorating is really terrific; they have collected a lot of special pieces that add to each room's decor. There are lots of lamps and end tables, so plenty of places to curl up and visit or read a book. It is a bright and cheerful house and all the rooms look out on Lake Michigan; we were treated to lots of surf and some bright orange red sunsets. We went to see Art Prize in Grand Rapids, shopped in Holland and Saugatuck, bicycled in Douglas, hiked the dunes and watched golf and football in the upstairs and downstairs living rooms. Oh, I forgot to mention the magnificent decks where we gathered whenever the wind died down. I am looking for an excuse to go back!

Pink house

  • 3 of 5

The deck and view were very nice. The location was good. The main issue was that the middle bedroom was unbearably warm in the evenings, even with the AC turned down low. Part of our group had to move out of the room to sleep. Also, the kitchen was full of fruit flies and there was no hand dish soap that we could find.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. We are sorry you experienced some troubles during your stay and please know we have addressed all issues. Fans have been installed in the bedroom mentioned. Unfortunately drain flies can be an issue at the lake as they come and go but a quick call to our caretaker can have this taken care of immediately. As noted in the welcome book he is available 24-7 to help with any situation. We are glad you enjoyed the beautiful views from the decks and know you are welcome back at the Pink House at anytime.

A vacation we will remember for a lifetime!

  • 5 of 5

We rented the home in mid-August for a family vacation. I was a little nervous because I rented it based on the reviews and photos alone since I live on the east coast. The owner was accommodating and despite the time difference, made time to chat over the phone to answer questions I had prior to booking. The house could not have been more perfect for my family. It was absolutely a dream with superb detailing. I am just amazed at the design and layout of the home, from the multiple porches, to the intricate and beautiful bathrooms, and the cozy, cottage furnishings. We were a little short on linens, but luckily we packed back-ups so it worked out.The beach was so pristine and there were fewer steps to the beach than I've seen at other homes I considered (roughly 75). The home is just minutes from downtown Saugatuck where there are shops, restaurants, and the Petter Wine and Art Gallery (one of my favorite shops for cheese, wine, and art). We also spent time in Holland which is just a short drive away (roughly 20 minutes). There is quite a bit to do in the area whether you're familiar with the community or if it's your first trip. We had one colder day, so we drove into Grand Rapids to visit Meijer Gardens, which is a must-see if you have time. My only regret was not being able to call the house my own. So very thankful to the Poli's for opening their wonderful home, allowing us to create such amazing memories.
