About Lorimer, Tera

We are a local couple that enjoy getting away to the mountains for much needed R&R. We started our boutique vacation rental company, Luxury Getaways LLC, in 2009 with the intention of being great hosts, having excellent customer service and offering the best homes Mt Baker has to offer. All of our homes are very close to the ski area and are maintained in excellent condition with nothing but relaxing and entertaining in mind. Please feel free to call us if you have any questions. Thank you!

good times for 2 families!

  • 4 of 5

Wet and powdery weekend filled with good times as our kids competed in the IFSA freeride comp. The chalet was perfect for 3 adults and 5 kids....plenty of space. Thankfully there is a fireplace to help dry out the ski stuff so that the dryer didn't breakdown drying out all the gear on its own. Handy location....well equipped kitchen, better than many we have stayed in. We would stay here again for sure. Check it out.

Great get away!

  • 5 of 5

The house was very clean, and well stocked. There is no tv/cable, but they have a good selection of games, books, and a dart board. (bring your own darts) All of the directions to get there/in were concise and easy to understand. The location was great-close to hiking trails, and only about 17 miles to the ski area. No snow this time, but the trip to the falls, then the top of the mountain was well worth the ride.

If you are looking for a place to just hide out for a bit, this is it. One caution would be to do your grocery shopping before you get there. There are a few little places for groceries, but it is costly.

Chair 9 is in walking distance, and has pretty good pizza. It's a great place to have a few drinks, listen to music, and watch snowboard/ski videos. The staff was very nice.

Christmas family get-away

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay at Fern Lodge. The house was comfortable and spacious, and had exactly what we expected. The log fireplace kept us warm and comfortable; and we enjoyed playing games and using the hot tub. It was nice to get away, but it is important to know that there is no cell coverage, so if it is important to be reached you will need to give out the land line number or use the wi-fi at the community room.

The only thing missing was a 'welcome' book explaining how to let visitors into the community gate, as we arrived in seperate cars and it would have been nice to know that you can let other cars into the gate remotely. Instead we spend a long time parked at the gate in order to meet the rest of the family, until the community security guy helped us out.
