Conveniently located, standing tall and overlooking Lake Huron and its beauty, Top o’ the Rock provides guests with 3 stories of comfort. We are currently scheduling guests for the 2015 Spring, Summer and Fall seasons. Come feel the warmth and love that was built into this home. Top o’ the Rock boasts 4 bedrooms including sleeping loft, 2 living rooms, dining room, 2.5 bathrooms, large kitchen, and 3 stories of decks overlooking Lake Huron. From the 3rd floor Captain's quarters to Snow Beach, the Top o' the Rock experience will bring enjoyment for a quiet get away or a family reunion. View the freighters from the Captains Quarters or decks from each of the floors. The ferry ride from Cheboygan starts the Bob-Lo experience.
Walk to the waterfront for swimming and boating. New kayaks and adult bicycles are stored on site, for touring the island on land or sea. A three person boat is being added for Lake Huron enjoyment.
The ground floor of Top o’ The Rock conveniently hosts all of your entertaining needs. Modern kitchen, large dining area (seats 10), living area with large flat screen TV for your viewing pleasure, half bath, laundry services, and even a lighthouse on the deck; all serve to complete the first floor.
The second floor provides a quiet, relaxing atmosphere for games, conversation, reading or just taking a nap. The living room with its 2 seating areas and wet-bar, bedroom and full bathroom are encapsulated by 12” walls, providing guests with the rustic Adirondack charm that can only be found in uniquely crafted log homes. Guests will note the owners love for the sea as they experience nautical artifacts and symbols throughout. Decks and comfortable furniture surround the East and Southern sides of the home, and the second floor deck has been screened in for insect free living.
The third floor stands taller than any other Boblo home, and has breathtaking views of Lake Huron from its deck. The deck is also the perfect place to view wildlife, passing ships and nature at its best. The sliding doors provide walls of glass in the final 2 bedrooms. The full bath and sleeping loft open to a 2 story view with vaulted ceiling and, of course, nautical charm at every corner. The evening ferry canal lights of Cheboygan in the distance provide nautical ambience.
Top o’ The Rock is known for its palatial size and bright red roof, which can be seen on clear days from the Cheboygan ferry channel. Nicknamed “Pizza Hut” by Cheboygan tourists spotting the red roof in the distance, Top o’ the Rock is waterfront property that provides swimming and boating pleasures that guests prefer. The island provides boating rentals and public launch facilities; contact information can be provided to interested guests.
Access the website through the VRBO link. The lease will be emailed to interested families/groups. Please contact us for prices if your group wishes to stay less than a full week.

My husband and I wish to retire in the area, and until that time, we wish to have others share in the joy of Bois Blanc Island. The house was built for us by a relative who paid attention to detail in every aspect of this gorgeous home. The inspiration came from a dream to retire on the water and was designed on a bar napkin at Hawk's Landing.
Robin Webb purchased this house in 2008
Lake Huron is spectacular, and provides the calm and serenity of the ocean experience. The Ferry and Boblo's people complete the experience.
The 2015 rate of $1,100 (all inclusive) applies if 2016 Summer season weeks are booked prior to 12/31/15.
This property is waterfront, which provides the complete island experience for your family and guests. This log home was uniquely designed, and the 2 story living room is spectacular. This home is walking and biking distance to restaurants and the ferry, and the beach is the end of the driveway!
Nature is found in the backyard, as the orchard nearby draws the deer and wildlife. The walking trails were created for the explorers in the group.
Once again we had an amazing, relaxing, spacious week at the Top of the Rock. The view is incredible! So much so that we took a time lapse video from the top balcony of sunset and the sunrise, even caught two deer having breakfast in the field in front of the cabin. If you wake up right about sunrise you almost every morning will catch a few dear close to the cabin. One morning we saw an enormous buck, antlers still in velvet. In addition, we used the kayaks, rode bikes (we do recommend a seat pad as those roads are hard on the backside.) Hiked our hearts out and visited all the points of interest on the map. If you have a chance the hike to the lighthouse is worth it. The cabin was perfect and the check in/check out process easy. We appreciate the opportunity and hope to be back again next year! ~ the Esteve's
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. There are 2 bedrooms on third floor but the 4th "bedroom" is really a loft nook with 2 twin beds, fine for kids but no door for privacy. Plenty of bedding and comfortable beds, lots of space for everyone. Especially nice for families because you can put the kids in bed on the 3rd floor and then adults can socialize (and get as loud as they want!) on the bottom floor in the kitchen and small living room area there. The second floor has a bedroom and sitting area, 2 very comfortable couches, and TV, and opens out to the screened in porch. The washer and dryer made it easy to pack light. The local bar Barb's Bob-Lo Tavern is right next door so it's fun to walk there for one of the meal specials, shuffleboard, or a game of pool. Everyone we met on the island was very friendly and helpful. A really unique setup with lots of space and a great view in a memorable location. We rode bikes, kayaked, hunted, and hiked all over the island. Highly recommend the plane ride over to Mackinac Island, totally worth it for a memorable day trip. One tip, there are 3 bathrooms so make sure you bring hand soap for all of them and also dish soap, and also bring trash bags as you will need to remove all your trash when you leave, they don't do trash removal.
We stayed June 13-21 2015 and could not have enjoyed ourselves more. The cabin was perfect. The fire pit and kayak's were a favorite. The teens enjoyed the bikes. But it is the incredible view that make this place an all time favorite. Freighters, sailboats, the evening lights from Cheboygan and the sounds of the straights of Mackinaw make this place without question one of the most beautiful locations in the world. Many deer, birds, flowers and we even had a Raccoon look in the lower window while eating breakfast one morning. We hiked out to the lighthouse, which we highly recommend to anyone who visits, visited the Insel house (the craftsman ship there is stunning), had a few meals at Hawks Landing, fished on lake Mary, looked for wild leeks, mushrooms, caught the tail end of Liliac season (the season was mostly over by then). Liliacs are my all time favorite and are one of those scents that transport me right back to my childhood and growing up in Northern Michigan. 8 people from age 12 - 72 and everyone enjoyed the time. I worried that a few in our party would get bored but we could have stayed another week and still not run out of things to see and do or places to hike too. Next time we will see the outlaws hide out, the saw mill and revisit our favorites. Thank you to Robyn for making this vacation possible. When we asked the family where they wanted to go in 2016 for vacation all voted for Top O the Rock again. We will be booking soon for next years visit.
If you love nature and camping, this is the place for you. Imagine you are camping with a fire pit, deer walking casually by, birds chirping, a view of Lake Huron. And then when you open the tent flap, you are in a lovely 3 story home with all the comforts . If you cannot deal with mosquitoes and spiders and other bugs, you should stay away. There simply is not enough room to say how much we enjoyed our stay. 7 people, ages 17 to 62. We will be back next year.
The house is as beautiful as the pictures and they have everything you could imagine as far as household supplies- Pots, Pans, washer, dryer full kitchen in the lower level. The house for sure has a water view but it is not waterfront for the waterfront is actually 300 or so yards away. One of the best features of the house is the second floor screened in porch so you can enjoy an evening outdoors without worrying about bugs. All in all great house and a great time.
7 Adults and we thoroughly enjoyed the cabin along with the island. We would highly recommend staying here.
