I am the original owner and builder of this property, and worked on the elaborate stonework over a period of 9 years. I also enjoy organic gardening and my guests love to help themselves to the continuous abundance of fruit from the orchard, including peaches, cherries, apples and a favorite for the kids, my huge raspberru patch. Guests have their privacy, yet I am just a call away to answer any questions or help with local plans. I have really enjoyed the guests and have made many lasting friendships.
I didn't buy it, I built it because I am a compulsive project starter and also feel compelled to finish what I start. Then I love to share it with others. Montana is, to me, the most wonderful place in the US and the Bitterroot has the best weather in Montana, so what a good idea to have a vacation home here. We are near the Bitterroot River and that has always been a big attraction for guests, especially those interested in fly fishing..
Most people are blown away by the sheer beauty of this home and property, and I invite you to come and be my guest for a delightful getaway.
I could not have dreamt a better venue for a fairy tale wedding. My husband and I were married at the Stone tower June 13,2015. We rented both the house and barn for friends and family to stay the night before and night of wedding. It was perfect, the bridal party stayed and got ready in the house and the groomsmen were in the barn. Every single person was blown away with the beauty of the whole property. The house decor is breath taking. The barn was perfect for dinner and reception. Great dance floor and room for live band.
As we were packing up and leaving, the conversation was we are definitely coming back here we don't even have to have a reason. This is a little slice of heaven.
Peggy is an amazing woman, she works very hard at keeping the property pristine. Highly recommended wedding venue and vacation property. Thank you Peggy for sharing your heaven with us, we look forward to seeing you again very soon!!!!!!!!!!!

The Stone Tower Estate was the venue of choice of my daughter and her fiancé a year in advance. In fact, they scouted multiple venues in the Bitteroot/Missoula area, but when they first visited Peggy at her beautiful stone tower home, they were sold. It was the perfect place for them to start their married life together! The bride and groom communicated with Peggy multiple times during the year, and received much appreciated updates on any improvements made to the venue. She was a dream to work with.
We rented the entire venue, including the house and the loft over the barn, and everything was in perfect shape when we arrived the afternoon before the wedding. All accommodations were comfortable and well appointed. The rehearsal dinner for approximately 50 people was held in the barn, and the kids enjoyed outdoor games, visiting the horses and hunting arrowheads (long story, there!)
The morning of the wedding was glorious, but as the day wore on, those big Montana thunderheads rolled through. By the time for the ceremony, the most threatening thunderhead of the day split in two and slid by on either side of the garden ceremony site. It was perfect, and dramatic and hopefully made for some awesome photos!
Peggy has done a tremendous amount of work on the barn and the outdoor patio to make it as inviting and functional for any type of wedding you can imagine. You can go rustic, shabby chic, western or even vintage and have a truly unique wedding. You can bring in as many decorations as you desire, or as few as you want as the garden landscaping, combined with the stone arch and the panoramic view make for a spectacular ceremony location. As the mother of the bride, I received awestruck comments by relatives making their first visit to Montana who had a hard time believing the Stone Tower existed -- I'm not kidding! They were very impressed.
We were fortunate to research vendors who had worked with Peggy at the Stone Tower previously, as they were well-prepared with their arrangements.
I highly recommend offering a bus service for guests from Missoula, which we did, as it is about a 50 minute drive down the Bitteroot Valley to Stevensville and then 15 minutes or so winding up the hill and going the last couple miles on an unpaved, although well-maintained, dirt road. Guests really don't need to drive themselves back to Missoula at midnight.
Thank you, Peggy for everything you did to make this a memorable and joyous occasion!
The Stone Tower venue was absolutely stunning. It awed all of our guests and made them feel like they were in a fairytale. Peggy (the owner) is the hardest working person I've ever met. I woke up at 630am the morning of the wedding and saw her working away in the garden and tucking things away to make everything picture perfect. She was so flexible and understanding about what we wanted to move or set up. We had some of our family stay with us in the house and barn and it was perfect. It sleeps like a ski house so we just gave everyone that heads up that there were only two rooms with doors but no one minded at all. We had our rehearsal dinner in the house and the space worked perfectly. The only thing complaints from the 4 days we spent there was that the barn was hot upstairs even with the windows open at night and the house was hot during dinner. Which really wasn't a big deal. We had around 75 guests at the wedding and it was perfect. It wasn't crowded and it wasn't empty. There was plenty of room for people to move around. We used the first two horse stalls that are opened up for the buffet and pie table. We held cocktail hour and dancing outside of the barn. We couldn't have picked a better venue and we made so many memories there with out family. Peggy even let us pick the raspberries and cherries that filled the property. We sat out the deck and watched the stars every night. It was all too amazing. It was a dream and Peggy works every day to find ways to make it even more accommodating even though it's already too perfect. And any questions you have, she has the answers.
Our younger daughter and her fiancé chose the Stone Tower Estate for their wedding and reception. The venue is even more beautiful than the photos would indicate. Most of the wedding party spent the weekend at the estate. Peggy was a welcoming, generous, and charming host. She obviously works very hard to keep the grounds in excellent condition. We had lots of time to set up for the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, and the wedding and reception the next day. The estate offers many amenities, including tables, chairs, linens, and some decorations. Our guests were delighted with the experience, and found the house, barn, and views absolutely stunning. With Peggy's assistance everything went very smoothly. Everyone was happy and had a great time. It was a delightful experience. We definitely recommend this venue.
We had the honor to stay the weekend here to have our wedding ceremony and reception. It was an amazing place to have the wedding party and a few additional family members to stay in the main house and upstairs barn area. The property sits up on a hill and has an breathtaking view of the Bitterroot Valley and Sapphire Mountain Range. The landlord, Peggy, is very genuine, flexible and caring. She gaves us her full attention while we were there and listened to what was needed to make our expierence amazing. We could not have picked a better place to have this wonderful and special ceremony/weekend reunion. We will always remember how friendly and caring Peggy was to us. We would highly recommend this location for any family get together, it was a weekend full of great memories.
Our daughter's wedding was held (May 2016) at Stone Tower Estates and honestly 5 stars just isn't enough!! The setting, itself, is beyond beautiful and you won't find a kinder, more patient owner (Peggy) to work with. From the beginning she always replied promptly to our incessant emails, took time to allow us to visit the venue while we planned and worked so hard, in some really crappy weather, to make the place ready for our day. I could never thank her enough! We rented both the big house and upstairs in the barn for family which worked out great, both places are beautiful. The grounds were perfect for kids to play safely both before and after the wedding. It was just the perfect place. The weekend, the wedding couldn't have turned out any better! I would highly recommend Stone Tower Estates to brides, vacationing families, just about anyone who wants a special place to stay.
