Beautifully renovated Bliss Log Cabin with Fantastic Views of Lake Michigan. Shared Beach Access. Go for a hike or long bike ride ( on the Tunnel of Trees). In the evening, enjoy cocktails and dinner with one of the premier views in Michigan. Watch a glorious sunset and then gather around the outdoor fireplace and cook your S'mores.
Due to the location, the evenings are typically 'sweatshirt weather', so you'll use the fireplace. You will hardly ever see a mosquito...how often can you say that in Michigan!
Great for Fall COLOR TOURS. Works well for 2 Couples. Tour, Come back and Grill, have a fire and watch the sunset.
Keywords: If you like to bike, hike, boat, golf, antique, color tour, or just relax in Pure Michigan, this Bliss Log Cabin is for you. Great for a family of 4 ( will accommodate 5 pretty well ), two couples or 4 bicyclists.
My wife and I are from Brighton, fell in love with this area for its Old Northern Michigan lure. If you want the Bay Harbor experience, this is not it!
Bob or Sarah purchased this cabin in 2006
Lake Michigan, charming area, great people and a cabin that we knew had great potential ( which we have acheived ). It's a great area...whether you want to have a quiet vacation of reading, touring, etc. or if you want an active vacation of hiking, biking, kayaking, etc.
Lower Blood Pressure! Great area to hike, bike ride, boat, kayak, walk the beach ( best at Wilderness ), and tour Northern Michigan. Also a great launching point if you want to go to the Sault, Mackinac Island, access all the great golf, etc.

An early summer visit to this most lovely part of northern Michigan was all that we dreamed it would be. The cabin is cozy, comfortable and well provisioned. The high bluff yard and view are unsurpassed complete with a charming outside fireplace. We busied ourselves with daily walks along the Tunnel of Trees and down the hill to the association beach, antique shopping ventures, hikes in Wilderness State Park, and revisiting favorite haunts of days gone by. Thank-you for sharing your home with us - we hope to return next summer.
This is an exceptional place, with a view you really won't believe. Everything here is wonderful - the grounds, the cottage, chairs for lake watching, and the distance from activity. This cottage can be opened up daily with screens throughout, which was especially nice. We enjoyed taking just a few steps to run, bike, or walk along the Tunnel of Trees. There are plenty of places to explore, including some tucked away area beaches, but we really didn't want to leave this property for too long. And don't miss the rotating daily pie slices at the Good Hart General Store.
This was the perfect spot/place for a family getaway. We only traveled 20 miles from our Harbor Springs home but it was as if we were far far away from everything. The cabin is very unique and full of space for it's small size. Our family (with 3 young children) loved everything about staying here, especially the beautiful outdoor fireplace and the amazing nightly sunsets. Very relaxing place for a vacation and very well stocked with everything we needed.
Thank you very much for sharing your tranquil cottage with our family!
Although the cabin is in need of some TLC we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to friends. The gorgeous view of Lake Michigan and the fabulous outdoor fireplace are worthy of five stars. The cabin is quite damp - especially the bathroom (understandably difficult to overcome given the wooded location and the age of the cottage but worth noting if one is sensitive to dampness). The kitchen is well equipped and the living/dining area is nicely furnished. The layout of the cabin makes access to the second bedroom less than convenient (through the bathroom or the master bedroom). Some of the bedding and towels need to be replaced. With just a bit of attention to basic household repairs and maintenance this cottage could be a gem!
This was our second stay at this cabin because we enjoyed it so much in 2014. The outdoor patio and fireplace offer the perfect place to watch the sunset over Lake Michigan and enjoy the ambiance of a fire after a day of playing golf at Little Traverse Bay (highly recommended) or any of the other courses in the area, visiting Odawa Casino, Harbor Springs, or taking in polo match in Bliss. The cabin is so comfortable you do not feel like you are away from home, but at home. The cabin is 5 STAR for a rest and relaxation and reflects the charm and loving care of the owners.
The cabin was perfect and our Hosts equally so. We had a super time in this lovely location. The cabin had EVERYTHING you need for a peaceful time away, combined with the greatest views you could ask for.
Great Access to Golf. True North is 5 miles or so (private now I am told), Boyne Highlands within 15-20 minutes, Hidden River and Little Traverse 30 minutes. Located a few hundred yards from extensive State forest land...great for hiking. Perhaps the most popular place to Road Bike in Michigan, with enough 'seasonal roads' and snowmobile trails to keep the mountain bikers happy too. You can Google Emmet County Historical Tour Map for some other points of interest! Worth Checking out!!!
