Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a wonderful time in Cooperstown. The house was GREAT and we loved being there. It was our home away from home for a week and we loved it.

Beautiful Home In A Pastoral Setting With Very Comfortable Accomodations

  • 5 of 5

We rented this home for our trip to Cooperstown for kids' baseball. The home was neat and clean upon arrival. Everything you need to enjoy an extended stay was provided. The sleeping arrangements were terrific. We had nine people and everyone had a BED. There are two full baths and the upstairs sleeping areas are well separated. There was a nice grill and deck for our cooking and partying needs.

The location is 20 minutes from All-Star Village. The area is absolutely beautiful. We hiked around Arnold Lake State Park which was beautiful and only 10 minutes away. There is a grocery store 15 minutes away.

The owner was very professional and responsive as were his assistants. The owner even went to the trouble of transporting a suitcase from the home to the UPS store after we forgot it when we left. He was very responsive and easy to communicate with.

Highly recommend this home for your trip!!

DO NOT STAY HERE! PICTURES ARE COMPLETELY INACCURATE!!! Should be shut down by health department!!!

  • 1 of 5

This rental is a total nightmare! Extremely dirty, we walked through cobwebs, window sills full of flies, showers were filthy. No air conditioning and a sign on the basement door says "DO NOT ENTER". Well, of course, we went down there. Black mold growing up the walls and all around the wrapped pipes. The pictures he shows in the ad were taken 6 years old. If you want updated pictures, I'd be happy to send them. We were also advised not go be outside at dusk due to a BEAR WARNING!!! Carpets are at least 30 years old with so many stains, we were afraid to walk on them. Urine stains on one of the mattresses. You felt like you had to itch your head just being inside. We argued with the owner, felt extremely sorry for his hearing-impaired, housekeeper who he doesn't pay enough to keep the house clean. We only received after threatening to call the county health department. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!

Owner's Response: Thank you for you review. I suggest we let the future guests decide whether your 1 star rating make sense, especially when ALL the 12 other guests rated their experience at 4-5. Some clarifications: You called and complained about the house not being clean enough – I sent my cleaning lady (whom by the way, works with me for more than 6 years), and told her to do whatever is needed to make you happy - and you did not let her clean the house. I offered you two options – to find another place and get a full refund or keep staying at the house and get 50% discount. But it was not enough for you. you wanted to get the full refund AND me paying for your stay at another house (I wonder if you would demand same if you were staying at a hotel and was unsatisfied with the room you got). And when I said no, you started threating me by letting me know that you are a lawyer…and that you will send the county health department. What you don’t know, is that in order to get a rental permit, the house is being inspected by several county agencies every year. You can’t rent the house unless the county is fully satisfied with what they see. You forgot to mention that you got 100% of your money back even though you stayed at the house for two nights. Do Not Enter signs means one thing – do not enter (Not sure what you what you lost in the basement). There is no mold in the basement. Pipes are covered by wrap insolation. Carpets are 9 year old, not 30… One more thing – so far, none of the guests who stayed at the house, and enjoyed beautiful evenings sitting on the deck, got bitten or even saw bears near the house. Again, maybe you have the ability to see some things none of the other guests see… Enjoy the rest of the summer

Nice Location for Dreams Park Baseball

  • 4 of 5

Home was a convenient, short drive to Dreams Park. Took us about 10 minutes to get to the park each day. Has all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. We had two families (8 people) staying at the home and there was plenty of room. Rural setting allowed us to see deer almost daily on our drive home. Home has WIFI but it is very slow so keep that in mind if you plan to do any work.

Owner's Response: thank you for your review. regarding the wifi - as per your comments, I went ahead and purchased a better package from the internet provider which increases the download and upload speed by 100%. I wish I knew about the problem while you were there as I would have upgrade it on the spot. Thanks again and enjoy the rest of the summer. ilan

Great stay for baseball families in Cooperstown Dreams Park

  • 5 of 5

This house has charm and everything you need for a great stay while watching your son play at Dreams Park in Cooperstown. A quick 10 minute drive and you're in baseball heaven. Our home away from home for the week boasted enough room and bedrooms for 3 adult couples and our two kids. The beds were comfortable and the two bathrooms were great for the number of people. Having a washer and dryer was a huge bonus and the yard was spacious with room for wiffle ball game and catching our fair share of lightning bugs. We had a great BBQ, complete with a fire in the fire pit. The kitchen made it possible to not require eating out all the time and had all the gadgets you needed.

Would recommend this to anyone. Joe was very helpful in getting us going and Ilan very helpful in answering questions prior to arrival. Thanks for a perfect week!

Good stay

  • 4 of 5

Had a good stay with a few families for our kids' Cooperstown baseball tourney. House was fairly close to the fields. It was the right place for families on the go.

Sunny Meadow

  • 4 of 5

The owner was extremely good at returning my calls as well as the house keeper. Both were very good with returning calls. The house has alot of character and potential. It was more than spacious. Having 2 bathrooms was great on mornings when we had to get to DreamsPark for early games. The porch was a great meeting place for our party, we spent much of our free time enjoying it. The internet was extremely slow, keep that in mind if anyone in your party has "work" to do while away. The games were a useful added touch, we actually played games while at the house. Not really complaints but things commented on by different members of our party. The televisions were very small and not all the beds had mattress covers on them. I would recommend this house for larger groups, there is plenty of space. Thanks for a memorable week in Cooperstown.

Owner's Response: Dear Dona, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I’ve read your comments and will make sure they will be taken care of in the near future. Regarding the internet access – I am using hughesNet, the only high speed internet provider in the area – their upload/download quality is okay but not as good as high speed landline. Thanks again and enjoy the rest of your summer Ilan
