Great for families or up to 3 couples. This is a classic Nantucket ''upside down'' layout. The breezes, the views, and the sunset can be enjoyed from the living areas on the second floor. This level has the kitchen, a large open dining/living room, and bathroom. The deck has a teak table & seating for 8, and the barbecue, hardwood floors.
The surf can be glimpsed from the 3rd floor where there is a bedroom with a two twin beds.
The ground floor has 2 bedrooms - one with a queen bed, and the other with two queen beds. Sliding doors open to the covered patio where we store bikes and kayaks. Bathroom & laundry also on this floor.
The back deck is a great place to lie back, listen to the surf and the birds and the clink of your ice cubes. Take a couple of kayak laps in the pond & call it exercise. Take a break and unwind and don't wear shoes for a week.
We are very close to the bike trail. The beaches are famously very clean and uncrowded and only a 5 min walk away. Town with all the restaurants and museums is less than 15 minutes away on the local bus.
Nantucket adjusts easily to the type of vacation we are in the mood for. If we want to relax, there are so many peaceful ways to spend time. Or if we're feeling energetic, it's so easy to go for a surf, a bike ride, or a run.
There are some nice local features of Madaket. There's a local surf beach which is famous for its sunsets and Millies, the local restaurant. There's an equally close beach on the harbor-side of the island with shallow water which is perfect for children. Mr Roger's house of 'Mr. Roger's Neighborhood' is nearby. Other baces are a short drive away.
Beyond Madaket the island has much to offer in terms of recreation, culture, and amenities.
Loved our stay, would stay again in a heartbeat! My family had a wonderful time.
Very spacious and quiet for a townhouse. Very well equipped home. Neighbors were very nice and helpful. All toys are there including bikes and kayaks. I would rent this place again.
