|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
From the moment you enter your private driveway, you will know that you are in for a luxurious treat at Majestic Manor. Take your time driving in – the manicured lawns and tropical palms set the stage for a relaxing, rejuvinating stay.
The home is filled with Old World charm reminiscent of a European Manor, beginning with the massive front door and continuing throughout to carved columns, a fountain, a sweeping staircase, beamed ceilings, stained glass and an antique chandelier.
Meals will be as simple or gourmet as you want to make them. The chef’s kitchen has everything you need for a workspace and places to store your things in custom made cabinets and appliances. When the meal is ready, dine in the formal dining room or al fresco in the outdoor living space, where you can look out over the Pacific Ocean and listen to the sounds of the sea and tropical forests around you.
When you are ready to call it a night, the bedrooms offer plush furnishings with fine silks and linens to put you to sleep. Bedroom 1 is a King Suite. Bedrooms 2, 3 & 4 have Queen beds.
We provide everything you need to welcome a fresh new day. You will have a welcome basket of exotic, organic fruits and premium Costa Rican coffee. Enjoy that poolside or in the palapa after some slow breathing and stretching on the yoga platform beside the ocean.
Time stands still at Can Shekinah. You will soon lose track of it and wonder if you’ve only been there three days, or seven. You will feel the stresses of your life dissipating while you walk, swim, gaze, read and chat. It’s a super special place to be with family or friends, reconnecting.
When you’re ready for a bit more adventure, there are many to choose from within an hour’s drive: horseback on the beach or to waterfalls, snorkeling, SCUBA, fishing, zip lines, nature hikes, yoga classes, ATV and kayak tours, waterfall rapelling – you name it and our manager will help you arrange it.
4 Bedroom, 3 1/2 Baths located on a bluff accommodating 8 people
The home is amazing! The outdoor living space was perfect to dine and lounge about. I stayed here with my husband, 2 children, my parents and MIL. There was enough space for everyone to part ways and enjoy some solitude, too. The yoga deck was a very nice spot to relax, so was the pool. The home feels secluded and I don't remember hearing road noise. There is a nice hotel restaurant adjacent to the property... they will shuttle you if you ask. The home did have WiFi and A/C - must haves in our family. :)
It's worth mentioning that the kitchen did not have a working oven nor DISHWASHER! Home wasn't stocked with basic necessities i.e. paper towels, salt, pepper, etc. There's a creepy "secret" room. You'll know it when you see it! While they stayed away from us, someone was always at the house doing something every single dayi.e. cleaning lady, landscaper, pool guy.
I was concerned about being on the ocean side of the "highway", separated from the mountain bc I really wanted to see some wildlife. My concerns were unfounded. We had the pleasure of seeing curious monkeys, birds, lizards, etc at a safe-no-binoculars-needed distance from the home. It's worth mentioning here that their "highway" is more like a wide, faster moving Farm-to-Market road in US terms.
While this home doesn't have beach access, I found that I was glad it didn't. It was nice to have a high vantage point that was unobstructed, quiet, and private. The Playa Hermosa beach is a short drive away. No, it's not a walkable distance. The "highway" is too fast and curvy. The beach is clean and a vendor was there selling fresh coconuts to drink from. I donated a pair of Chanel sunglasses to the ocean, so if you see them on the beach, enjoy!
My little family enjoyed zip lining nearby at Hacienda Barú Lodge. While the geography isn't as stunning as that at Monteverde, it was a great beginner course for the 7 yo and 9 yo.
We also took a horseback riding tour to some waterfalls. The horses were well cared for and trained. The water at the river was COLD and it was rocky, so bring water shoes. Also, our tiny 7yo got swept a ways by strong currents, so HOLD ONTO YOUR CHILDREN! Seriously.
This country isn't as inexpensive to travel to as you might think. The cost of groceries were the same as in Tx and the main roads are just as good, too. Go rent that Jeep and have fun!
I would stay here again. The home is well maintained, clean, and peaceful.
We spent two weeks with our family in this beautiful house.
The house is really spacious with one of the best views on the sea! We even spot whales from the deck in the garden. Pool is amazing with a good view at the ocean.
The house itself is nicely decorated and build with nice materials and really feels safe. We never spotted a bug or other insect in the house. The rooms are big and luxurious. Probably the best vacation EVER!
We just want to thank you very much for the amazing stay at your home; your property was so beautiful. There were 6 of us ranging from our two year old to my in-laws. It was blast for everyone.
We really loved the pool and the view was so amazing. The home was equipped with everything - nicely furnished, the air conditioners worked great as did the other amenities. The concierge was wonderful; she booked our tours and activities.
I was very happy and felt very safe in your home the gated property made us feel right at ease. We loved that we were close to everything.
It was nice to sit on the deck and enjoy our coffee and the sound of the birds, so very peaceful. I would, without a doubt, rent your home again.
I spent some wonderful days there with my family and from the bottom of my heart, i can and must say : this place is "magic"
Every where I look there was something even more beautiful to see. All the attention to details.....just magnificent. Built up on the cliff overlooking the pacific ocean with the sounds of the waves below, birds and moneys all around....this was and unforgettable experience. Morning coffee and wine at sunset out on the yoga platform at the cliffs edge was my favorite place. The owner also has the near by, walking distance, hotel and excellent restaurant that has many gluten free offerings, so no need to cook at all if you don't want to. Perfect place for wedding/honeymoon or that very special anniversary.
Can Shekinah is located in the heart of Costa Ballena, on the Southern Pacific region of Costa Rica. The Ballena (whale) National Marin Park is just a couple mile to the south. This Marin park is home to migrating Humpback whales that visit the area throughout the year. From the home you can watch Humpbaks breaching and playing in the ocean below you, or partake in the annual Whale festival each September.
For the snorkeling or scuba enthusiasts, take a day trip out is Isla Cano and enjoy the world-class amphitheater
of fishing wildlife. Or, jump aboard the many deep sea fishing boats to have an exhilarating day of chasing Marlin, Sailfish and many more!
