This home was just perfect for our Thanksgiving gathering. We cooked all our meals in the galley kitchen which has all new appliances and was well stocked with great pots and pans, glass ware and dishes. The pool patio in the backyard had a fire pit with plenty of firewood which led to a great time outside on a cool night. Charcoal was available for grilling as well as all the tools and pans needed. Our host was gracious and so warm and welcoming. We would definitely stay again and recommend this home to a friend. The description is accurate and the home was very clean and well maintained. The owner went above and beyond to provide great customer service.
My family rented the home while in Austin for our daughter's wedding at the Contemporary at Laguna Gloria so the location was excellent for us. We greatly enjoyed the pool and outdoor grill area (except for the vicious mosquitoes) for entertaining other family and friends. The pool especially was a big hit with the kids! The long narrow drive and parking was a bit of a challenge for the guests coming and going but we worked it out. While the kitchen and bathrooms are relatively small, especially for several people getting ready for a wedding, it just took a little pre-planning to get everyone scheduled for their times. Virginia was very accommodating and responded promptly to our calls when something was needed. This home may not have an updated kitchen and large open floor plan for entertaining but it is full of history, character and fun conversation starters!
This space was great, and the owner was nothing but amazing. We had some parking issues but was able to work it out with the assistance of the owner. The house is great and secluded but in the middle of it all... Plenty of space and everything to make for a great weekend.
We had a large group for girls weekend so this house fit us all perfectly. It was great having a pool with the September heat. The location was perfect, being just 10 minutes from downtown. Although there was room for a few cars, maneuvering in the driveway was pretty tight. Virginia, the owner, is on site for any questions or concerns, but we did not feel like she was looming over us.
Virginia was more than accommodating and such a kind hostess. The home was beyond our expectations and our guest were very impressed. This home has everything you need and more. We were there to celebrate my 30th birthday and had such a great time at the house that we didn't leave the property the entire weekend. Between the pool, the grill, the floats, the Christmas lights and all the outdoor seating we were set up! I must say that the Christmas lights surrounding the pool at night were such a nice touch. All in all I would recommend this property to everyone! We will definitely be back. Thank You for making my birthday extra special, Virginia.
I held a bachelorette party weekend for a friend in Austin, TX (road trip from DFW, TX) and this house was perfect for it. The four bedrooms are well spaced out and the house is nice and roomy, the 1940's feel is just incredibly cool, and the backyard is fun and adorable. We were able to get LOUD in this house, yet because of its seclusion we didn't bother anyone (even Virginia who was staying next door!). Virginia (the owner) found a way for all 5 of our cars to fit in her driveway and was very flexible on check-in and I was able to reach her any time I needed to. We were able to take Uber and Lyft rides from this house to nearby restaurants and 6th street for ~$13 on a Saturday night, and this house was near everything we needed (groceries, party city, food, etc). The house is in a nice part of town as well, so we all felt safe coming and going. Every girl staying with me that weekend said they would come back to that exact location, and I plan to! Thanks Virginia!!
