About Jeanette Glenn
I am a native of Hendersonville NC .
Jeanette Glenn purchased this Bungalow in 1999
Why Jeanette Glenn chose Hendersonville
In 1999 I bought this first piece of property and for many years it was a monthly rental but the history behind the scenes that where told to me about Buddy Ebsen and his family actually bought this property many years ago and built a home and a cottage and this was there summer home. AKA Jed Clampett and I thought was a beautiful way to display yester years and let other people enjoy it.
What makes this Bungalow unique
I was so impressed of course with the property because of the views from the front porch and all its history. So as Jed would put it 'Come and Sit a Spell' I recommend you do this very thing. Relax, smell the mountain air, and if you like walk the grounds it is just like it was back in the early 1940.

The home is quaint kind of takes you back in time.
But has everything to make your stay home and comfortable. Recommended for everyone.
We loved it so much, we'll be back! Jeanette is just awesome. Thank you for everything.
Thank you so much.
I look forward to your upcoming stay.
First time VRBO, learned a few things , overall happy
Our first time using VRBO and pretty much last minute for high season so we grabbed this place. We used our imagination when looking out the front porch over "the interstate" to view the mountains. In its day before progress we imagined a quiet serene view. Whether it's history of the Ebsens is true or not, we did embrace the ambience of bygone years. And although Mother Nature didn't deliver the Fall Foliage as we had hoped, our excursions around the area were convenient and fun. As for recommendations, please do replace the master suite quilt I was glad I brought my own linens. Repairs are needed throughout. The electrical situation puts a bit of fear in a nights sleep. Luckily we did enjoy the gas logs, after, my husband tapped a few times to unstick the thermostat. A better set of cookware would be nice. Paper goods were appreciated, but could have used a few trash can liners .And although the complementary wine was a sweet gesture, I personally would have preferred coffee filters , I made do with paper towels. I'm use to camping so we brought about everything we needed. And just like good campers we left it better than we found it. I hope you will take heed and a little effort to make this lovely old home place just a bit better to make up for the location "progress" has stolen from you. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would recommend for the price..... so far.
To answer some of your comments.
I don't know what mountain you were looking at but it does not look out over the interstate.
No time has not stolen from the natural history of this property.
It has updates. I guess you were not used to these due to camping where you have to go a bath house probably in the camp ground. Instead of hot water and a nice shower with towels while you could dry off and not have to walk back to your site in your PJs.
As far as the deeds on the wall to explain the history and who owned it . I spent a whole day at the Henderson County court house looking through microfiche to find these documents. So my guest could feel proud that they stayed where a well renowned person had lived.
The electrical is safe and every measure has been taken into consideration for the safety of all my guest.
Also there are adequate cookware in kitchen. As well as a electric stove with 4 burners and a refrigerator in kitchen of course you are probably not use to because you are use to a cooler or a butane cook stove.
I also have direct TV with channels for the whole family to enjoy and wifi I'm sure you took advantage of while you were there. Which you could not get while you are camping.
Last but least linen. If I recall when I cleaned the master suite you had used the linen provided.
The coffee pot does not need filters it has it's own filter basket so you don't have to have the paper ones.
Trash bags are provided when you arrive but not for your entire stay.
I love to hear good constructive criticism but being opinionated is really not a good sign of character. So I hope you take heed so that the next vacation rental owner want have to put up with your sarcasim.
I have other guest that return and love it here.
Beautiful cottage. Decor is home. Had everything I needed.
I recommend this property to families. Quiet get away..great area to visit
Back in time
Took us a step back to slower-paced less stressful days. Loved the decor and the cozy, homey feel. Convenient to places we wanted to visit and were able to return early enough in the evenings to watch TV and relax. Got in some much needed downtime. It was great!
It is a beautiful setting and a way to spend much needed downtime away from hustle bustle of everyday .
