A few years ago we stumbled across this great part of New England and our family instantly fell in love with the area. The older two kids, come up with their friends and enjoy relaxing, swimming in the many hidden swimming holes, kayaking, and skiing. The younger ones enjoy hiking the gorge, sledding, swimming, and lake pinneo.
My wife and I come up with family and friends. It's a great escape for us. We like time away from the kids in nearby Woodstock and Hanover.
Doreen purchased this house in 2011
This is our home away from home. Our family enjoys getting away and relaxing in Quechee. We are constantly making improvements to the home.
We purchased the property from the family that built it over 30 years ago. The house is well maintained, and has a large living and dining area great for entertaining. The two downstairs rooms provide a separation between more active activities (pool, ping pong, and video games) and conversations in the main living area. The outside fully-screened patio is great for dining, barbecuing and relaxing in the summer without worries of flying insects.
The area has a lot to offer with a great (and affordable) family ski hill in the winter, outdoor skating area, sleigh rides, and cross country trails.
In the Summer, the two championship golf courses are outstanding. The pool and deck at the Quechee club are great for food and relaxation.
They always have great kid and adult activities.
Renters get access (for a small additional fee) of all of the Quechee Land Owners amenities. Nearby Woodstock offers great eclectic shop, Hanover, NH is a short drive (home to Dartmouth College) with some great restaurants and night life. Big ski mountains like Killington are a short drive away.
The home was warm and inviting ,and tastefully decorated. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was well equipped. The screen in porch was a great place for us to enjoy ourselves.. There is plenty of fun things to do in Quechee, and nearby towns. You will feel at home here, and Doreen was very helpful .Thanks for sharing your lovely home.
4 couples arrived with two trailers carrying 4 motorcycles. We had plenty of room to park both trailers side by side in the front drive. We had ample room for the 4 motorcycles in the double garage that kept them secure, and dry, and still had room for the two trucks. The road to the house is twisty along the golf course but well maintained and smooth with slight grade. Very manageable for the trailers. The home is surrounded by trees to keep it cool during the day. The enclosed deck kept any insects away. Although we didn't see any. We used allot of the amenities. Pool Table, Ping Pong, Nexflix, etc. Everyone loved the oversized dining table, easily sat 8 adults. (could use additional lighting over the table). The kitchen although small was fully equipped with anything you needed for making large meals. Lebanon was very close for groceries and eating out as we did for some meals. Let's talk about the roads in the area. As you come around each corner on the motorcycle it's like looking at a postcard. We took a few long trips to New Hampshire and Lake George the scenery is amazing. For any motorcycle enthusiasts that want to make this their 'home base', this is the place in Vermont. Thanks Doreen and Luis, you made our vacation great.
A beautiful home, perfect for our getaway and just as described. Lots of room to spread out but the dining and living room gave us places to gather and talk. Would recommend this home to anyone who asks for a great place to getaway!
This house was perfect for us - eight girls on a writing retreat. Lots of room, very well stocked house, lovely ambience. We plotted our stories at the huge dining room table, and relaxed in front of the log fire. The house is an easy 15 minute drive from West Lebanon, so we ate out the first night and cooked in the rest of the weekend. We'll definitely be back here - loved it.
We stayed at this house for a week in Feb./March, and had all of our adult kids and grandson come. We had 9 people total, and there was plenty of room for more. The house is well laid out, in a great location, and provides plenty of room. We had planned on doing many activities, but spent most of our time at the house enjoying our family time. The house is clean, comfortable, spacious, and very relaxing! We cooked many meals for the entire family, and the large dining table was perfect. The wood stove in the living room as great to have, and the pool table and ping-pong table got a lot of use. The house is well equipped, and was just perfect for a relaxing family getaway. There's plenty to do in the area, and Woodstock is just a few minutes away. We can't wait to go back in the summer or fall now!
My in-laws and I stayed here for a long weekend and it was perfect. There were 8 of us and the house was clean, very comfortable and spacious. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this home for rental.
Quechee is the site of the famous Quechee Gorge, 'Vermont's Grand Canyon' on the Ottauquechee River, one of the country's natural wonders. It is also the home of the Quechee Lakes planned community, with two eighteen hole golf courses.
Quechee is host to a popular hot air balloon festival, Scottish Games, Quechee Polo Grounds, and the Simon Pearce glass blowing and pottery facility.
Quechee's facilities include two championship golf courses. Geoffrey Cornish, a world famous golf course architect, started with a valley full of ample trees, spring fed ponds, pastures, rocky ledges and dramatic ravines - then sculpted 36 challenging holes of championship golf. Old pros or young duffers, the golfers who have played it rave about it. Both 18s, from the first tee to the thirty-sixth green, are truly unbelievable.
The Quechee members, guests, renters - and now the public - all may enjoy many winter days downhill or cross country skiing. The ski hill's new quad chair lift is 2,700 feet in length and leads to downhill trails up to 5,000 feet in length. A rope tow and T-Bar complete the lifts at Quechee and provide access to the beginners' slopes for the novice skiers.
Also, there are many miles of maintained hilly and flat cross country ski trails in the development.
Besides golf courses and ski facilities, there is a modern Tennis Center featuring eleven tennis (8 Har Tru) courts, and a professional staff offering an outstanding program of lessons and clinics. There are recreational facilities for children, Lake Pinneo with beach, bathhouse, watersports, and playground facilities, outdoor skating facilities and supervised programs.
Throughout the valley QLLA maintains many other recreational sites, from the Polo Field and Birchwood Meadows overlooking Dewey's Pond, to the Village Green - the site of the now famous Quechee Balloon Festival. Additionally, there are playing fields, extensive woodlands, deer yards, and some great fresh water fishing holes, all encompassing approximately 1,500 acres of Vermont's most beautiful and natural land.
Quechee Lakes Landowners have, through their Association, developed Vermont's finest four season community. Everything you want for your vacation or lifestyle - be it spring, summer, fall or winter - can be found at Quechee Lakes.
