I built this beautiful home as my first retirement project. I wanted to create something that was perfect in every way. I wanted a place for me and my family to escape to as often as time allowed. I did not build this home as a rental home; I built it as my home away from home. I spared no costs in creating an exquisite home on a breathtaking ocean-view lot and furnished it with the best quality furniture, original artworks, and tropical landscaping that money could buy. The home has every amenity such as an infinity pool with an oversized pool deck on which there is a large square table for eight nested under a retractable awning and four loungers with side tables. The three bedroom suites all overlook the infinity pool, from which one has an amazing ocean view; the fourth bedroom/den has a pull out sofa bed and its own porch overlooking the Pacific ocean. For your convenience, there is a two-car garage, a fully equipped laundry room, and a large water-storage reservoir to insure a continuous flow of water even in cases of water stoppages. I have created a tropical garden with garden paths for you to stroll in with trees, plants, and flowers that are native to Costa Rica. From the ornamental pool and lion fountain beside the front door to the oil paintings, sculptures, and native crafts chosen to decorate each room in the house, you will appreciate the attention to detail. Residing within the gates of a guarded community, but one in which only a handful of homes have been built to date. As for location, you are situated exactly between two of the most beautiful National Parks in Costa Rica -- Manuel Antonio and Carara. You are only 15 minutes to the town of Jaco, where you can do your grocery shopping, work out in the health club, enjoy gourmet restaurants like Lemon Zest or Mono Azul, do your banking, and enjoy the many shops, casinos and night spots. You are 30 minutes to Quepos and Manuel Antonio. Quepos can boast of a new marina, where sports fishermen and boaters can do their thing. Manuel Antonia boasts not only of the National Park, but also of one of the nicest and best equipped public beaches in the country. Even without having to travel more than a couple of minutes, you can enjoy a five star restaurant on the beach (the Alma Hotel), an attractive restaurant (The Monterey) perched on a high hill, or a very inexpensive but excellent native restaurant, albeit owned by a Canadian, Los Alamendros in Esterillos Oueste. As for adventures, a morning hike through a rainforest with suspended bridges over the canopy or a boat trip through the Costa Rica mangrove forests with Rafa, the father of the monkeys, is a half hour away. There are many canopy tours within fifteen minutes of the home and a tram that carries you over the canopy. Horseback riding, ATV tours, and surfing are only minutes away. I have prepared a guide for my guests on all that the area offers.

I discovered Costa Rica in 2005 and fell in love with the country. Several years before I retired as a management consultant, I bought an ocean view lot , and three years later I began building a home, which was completed in May of 2009.
I spend two weeks every three months in my beautiful home, I rent it out to family members, friends, and those on the websites whom I hope will appreciate the home as much as I do. I hate to have it sit there empty. I would much rather know that someone was experiencing the joy that I have whenever i am there.
Kevin S purchased this house in 2009
This home is not only a luxury home, but was built for my family to enjoy. We did not intend to rent it out but now feel it should be shared with others to enjoy. We invite you to consider vacationing in our home and understand why we enjoy it so much!
The home is in a PRIVATE, Guarded community. The home has its own infinity pool with full ocean views. The home is one mile from the ocean.
We have returned home after spending Christmas at Kevin's home which was wonderful! There was ample room and privacy for our family (nine of us) surrounded by the beauty of great Costa Rican art, natural beauty of flowers, birds, and a horizon view of the Pacific, and, interesting and cool iguanas(Iggy) that we all loved to feed fruit and bread! The pool was a hit for all, morning, noon and night! Arvin, Kevin's manager, was very available and charming. We loved the ocean for walking and surfing and sunsets, excellent local restaurants, monkeys and zipping. We were both busy with wonderful CR activities and Pura Vida relaxation. Thank you, Kevin!
This was our first trip to CR. The house is wonderful. There was plenty of room for 3 couples to have our space and yet be together. There was everything we needed and more. The welcome book was nice to have and having contact with Arvin was a great asset. He helped us with getting comfortable in the area since none of us have been there. We fell in love with Costa Rica, didn't know that could happen. Kevin was easy to contact and there was never a time that I didn't feel that I could call and ask questions. The larger grill was extremely nice, thank you for that. I highly recommend Kevin's home and CR in general. It was truly a wonderful vacation.
Costa Rica is everything as described! Breathtaking scenery, friendly people and wonderful nature. Kevin's house is beautiful, we especially enjoyed the amazing local art work. The house is extremely spacious and well kept. The daytime personal waterfall at the large swimming pool is a great way to relax and enjoy the superb weather. The activities book was a wonderful help in planning many excursions. Parks, beaches and other amenities are all a short drive away. We always felt safe and secure while on the property. If you are looking secluded getaway, although private, there are other houses near by.
We shared this lovely home with another family for Christmas week through New Year's. Great location close to Playa Hermosa and other great beaches and restaurants between Jaco and Manuel Antonio. Comfortable, quiet home with great pool for dipping during the warm evenings. Even saw monkeys on our morning walk! Kevin's binder was consulted on a daily basis when planning outings and dinner. Couldn't have been more comfortable and inviting.
All was exactly as described by Kevin, who was extremely helpful and thorough in his description of the property including how everything operates. The binder he provides includes many ideas for activities in the area. We used it often and were never disappointed. Don't miss Rafa! I am convinced he really does communicate with the monkees and his tour amazing. His number is in the binder.
The house is beautiful and yes, you will want to plan to spend a day or two hanging around the pool enjoying life, friends and family.
Thanks very much, Kevin. We had a wonderful Christmas in Costa Rica.
Our visit was memorable to be sure. The drive from the airport in San Jose went very well, and the house was exactly as described and pictured on the web-site....beautiful and immaculately clean. Our pre-trip visit with Kevin, the owner, and the literature we were given proved very helpful. Although we did experience some difficulty with the water, all was quickly resolved soon after contact with the property manager.
We arrived at the house shortly after sunset, and were grateful that one of the security guards at the gate escorted us to the house and helped with our bags. All in the house was just as it had been described and so in no time we acclamated to our new surroundings. A pleasant surprise upon arising in the morning was discovering the lovely landscaping that accompanied the infinity pool and the magnificent view, all of which we decided we would spend the first day just relaxing with and enjoying.
With only the remaninder of one short week the information we had received prior to the trip, as well as some discovered at the house really helped in planning how we would spend the days. We first of all became acquainted with the town of Jaco, a must for shopping and dining. We met the owners of "Lemon Zest" on our first day in Jaco and enjoyed dinner there twice, sitting on the porch overlooking the town. The boat ride with "Father of the Monkeys" was the most unique and a highly recommended experience as is viewing the sunset from anywhere you can!! The views just driving the Coastal Highway are breathtaking also.
I'd very much recommend this property, and in fact already have done so in telling about the week... and the weather was perfect too.
