With its large dining room table and brand new kitchen, this 6 bedroom Lincoln Park duplex is perfect for your group's get together.
One block from Halsted St. and all that the Lincoln Park neighborhood in Chicago has to offer, this 6 bedroom duplex apartment home has a full kitchen, dining and living room plus additional rooms in which to spread out. A covered back porch (with table, chairs and a grill) leads to a parking area with room for up to 2 cars. The front yard has a gated seating area that looks out on a quiet residential street covered with beautiful homes and rich foliage. There is a piano as well as a working fireplace within the living room area, as well as cable television and wireless internet.
This is a lovingly lived-in and well-maintained vintage family home in a great neighborhood, which will provide you with all the comforts of home. (Did we mention the spice rack?)
There are 6 bedrooms total in this home. The Master bedroom has a Queen bed, its own private bathroom with a large, two person jacuzzi, a sink with marble top and a bidet. There are two additional bedrooms with Queen beds and two with Twin beds, as well as a sixth with a Queen sized air mattress. In addition, there is a Full-sized sofa bed, a fold out Twin-sized bed and a couch. In total, up to 14 people can stay in the home, though it is ideal for about 10.
Please note that a dog sometimes lives in the home when guests are not there, which is thoroughly cleaned by a professional before each stay (the home, not the dog).
Also, there is a three night minimum stay at the listed rate.
The area is fantastic. The house was very well stocked, the beds were comfortable, and it easily accommodated the 8 of us (all singles). It is only a part-time rental, it is someone's home the most of the time. My only gripe would be that there is an abundance of personal items around, and it seem like we were intruding into someones space. But it is not enough of a gripe to drop a star, that is for sure. Communication with the owner was great, she met us at the house when we checked in and gave us a run down of everything. Would stay there again, and would recommend it to friends.
My husband wanted to celebrate a major milestone birthday with a family reunion. Nearly all family members were from out of town and would need lodging. Hotels are isolating and not well located for our needs. This home enabled two families and their 8 children to have a stress free, comfortable, neighborhood located, park located, zoo located, easy transportation located, and car convenient place to stay.
The owner couldn't have been more accommodating and the reunion was a success. We would definitely recommend this property, particularly for the holidays and other adult/children occasions.
We stayed the weekend of July 4th, in town for some concerts over that weekend with a large group of friends from across the country. Judith's home was perfect for us, great neighborhood location, perfect amount of space for the 11-13 of us, great space for everyone to spend some time together. The 4 bedrooms upstairs comfortably have space for 4 couples, and the queen air mattress space downstairs off of the living space works great for another couple or 2 people. No one used the pull out couch off the kitchen, so can't speak to it's comfort but the location was just ok for that -- so the home is stellar for 10 people/5 couples to have their own space, with another 3-4 people on the pull out in the kitchen and couches if you're ok with sleeping in shared living space. Judith was a GREAT host, available when we had questions but completely out of the way otherwise (we were a bit concerned as we knew we would be coming home late each night but the house is solid and sound does not travel so it really is your own space there). We would definitely stay here again. What a great home base in a great location and a great host.
This house is all it is cracked up to be. The location is fantastic, you don't need a car, easy walk to lots of places to eat - nearby to the El. Head west on Wrightwood for a run in Lincoln Park along the lake. Walk north on Clark to Wrigley in 10 minutes. The Burwood Tap is right down the street for a cold beer and a game of pool.
Its an odd design with skylights (no shades) in all of the upstairs bedrooms, so bring a sleeping mask if you prefer sleeping in. The TVs are all about 20 years old - not a problem for us but kind of funny. It is not a chic expensively furnished place - clean and comfortable, but not fancy.
The property manager and owner were very nice and accommodating. I would book again for sure.
We used this house for our Thanksgiving family reunion. It is an older house but it is in very good condition and well equipped. We had 6 adults and 4 children and the sleeping arrangements were adequate. It was cold outside so the fireplace was a favorite place to congregate. The location was close to local stores and offered quick access to the main roads. I would recommend this property.
We had a group of 8 and it was the perfect stay with most things within walking distance. The house was nice and spacious. I would recommend staying here in Chicago.
The neighborhood contains a large number of upscale boutiques, restaurants and coffee shops, as well as many bars and clubs in the area within walking distance. Local bars / music clubs include Kingston Mines (famous blues club), The Burwood Tap, Blues R & B, Alive One, Trinity, Hidden Shamrock, Sapori Trattoria and D.O.C. Wine Bar among many others.
The red line 'El' train stop at Fullerton is a short walk away, which will take you to the downtown 'Loop' area as well as many of the various other neighborhoods in the city. A $10 cab ride can get you just about anywhere you'd want to go, with taxi cabs easily accessible. Chicago's beautiful lakefront is also a short walk away, with its fresh water beaches (no salt added!), the lakefront bike path, green space in Lincoln Park itself and countless recreational activities. There is also a large playground half a block away, close enough to be convenient for families but far enough away not to hear it at all.
Lincoln Park is one of the wealthiest communities in which to live in Chicago, with the average single family home priced around 1 million dollars and many homes in the area selling for more than 10 million dollars.
