Enjoy three levels of quality, comfort and convenience at one of Sugarloaf's finest properties. This condo enjoys beautiful views of the mountain from the main living area and the third floor master bedroom.
On the first level you enter a wonderful mud room with ski lockers to store all of your gear. This floor also consists of two well appointed bedrooms complete with flat screen TVs and a bathroom. The second floor of the condo offers all of the comforts of home including a fully equipped kitchen with granite counter tops, wood burning fireplace, and large wrap around decks to better enjoy the view. On the third floor awaits the very private master bedroom suite complete with its own flat screen TV, a jetted tub to soak in after a day on the slopes, and a large window to watch the groomers on the mountain at night.
The amazing location is ski in ski out next to the Snubber Chairlift, a stones throw to the Sugarloaf Inn and across the trail from the Sugarloaf Fitness Club. Park your car and leave it in our convenient lot when you get here because everything you need is within walking distance!
We have been coming to the The Loaf FOREVER and we now have a favorite place to stay! Thank you
We loved our stay at this property! The pictures are lovely but they don't truly represent how nice the property is. Everything in the condo is seemingly new or at least well maintained and the owners include everything you could possibly need for a vacation stay. The mudroom is spacious and makes for getting your gear together really easily/with much convenient. The dining area, master bedroom and master bath have high ceilings and allow for wonderful sunlight in the morning. Views of the mountain are priceless from the main living area! The fireplace is cozy as are all of the throw blankets which were clutch given the cold weekend we stayed. This property had everything we could ask for, for our 2 families who vacation annual together with our 2 children. My 3 year old son enjoyed playing with the lego table which was a nice bonus. He moved easily around the place, up and down the stairs so I could relax upstairs knowing he couldn't get into much trouble. We didn't use these items, but this is a great place if you have small kids since they have a pack and play, high chair and kid-proof dishes in addition to the toys. There's a jetted tub in the master bath which our friend's daughter used that was a plus too. The only caveats I would offer is if you're a light sleeper - don't take the upstairs bedroom as the morning sunlight comes in early! Also, there isn't a bathroom on the main living area but there is one a floor below and floor above - so if you don't like stairs or have a small bladder, be forewarned. Overall, one of the best properties we've stayed at when visiting Sugarloaf and I'm on year 5+, my husband is on year 10 or something.
We really loved the condo and everything in it. So close to the mountain. 😀 Kids loved the Lego table. The only down side was today leaving with our stuff down the walkway to our car. The path was frozen solid from the rain last night freezing today. Every one of us wiped out even though we were extra careful and walking like penguins. Treacherous! Maybe a handrail would help on icy days.
I have been going to Sugarloaf for nearly 30 years and this is one of the best locations and condos I have ever stayed in. It was nicely laid out and had all of the amenities. My kids enjoyed late night sledding alongside the magic carpet bunny slope nearby. Also, the location right near the Sugarloaf Inn, trail, and base lodge was perfect and easily walkable.
Everything was just as described. For skiing at Sugarloaf, I highly recommend this place, the kitchen was well-equipped, the furnishings were lovely and comfortable. The owner was very helpful and responsive. For a family vacation, it's a great choice.
Hands down, one of the best condos we've stayed in - for layout, trail proximity, and interior design/comforts.
Over the past few years, we've gravitated toward Sunday River and stayed in hotels, houses, and condos. We default to staying in the South Ridge condos which, for slightly less per night (HomeAway won't let me mention it), puts you within 20' of the trail in a similar spec'ed, although quite outdated, unit.
Having grown up with semi-annual ski trips to the Loaf, I was anxious to get back up now that the kids (ages 4 & 6) are both skiing . We did some research on locations at Sugarloaf, browsed AirBnb, FlipKey, and HomeAway, and ultimately found and booked Michael and Karyn's condo for a 3-night stay. Michael was easy to work with, the condo was clean and well organized (the pictures are slightly outdated as additional improvements, such as a new dining table, have been added).
The layout worked well for us - two families with four kids, ranging from 18 mo to 6.5 years. The proximity is about 50-75 yards to the trail, which you ski down 200 yards to take the Snubber triple lift back up above the base lodge.
The only caveats, all *extremely* minor;
-The lock box for the key was a bit of a pain (glad we were able to get in but were unable to return the box to the exterior wall after getting the key out)
-The condo was missing any ski maps (It's just a nicety but let's be honest; the first thing you do when you arrive at a mountain is plan your next days terrain!)
-Instructions for the trash was not quite clear (We couldn't find any exterior trash cans but left them on the walk near the cars and they weren't there for long)
Short review: The unit was clean, it was nicely appointed and updated, great layout for two families, and easy proximity to the trail. We'd love to rent this unit again and are already discussing 2016-17 ski calendar with this place in mind!
