Built in 1928. The home was one of the first homes on the street when it was originally built. The cabin has been restored with that rustic feel. Open floor plan in the downstairs living and dining areas making it feel very roomy and cozy. The downstairs has oak flooring and tile throughout. All the upstairs is carpeted in the bedrooms. Both bathrooms are tiled and you have an option of taking a bath in restored old fashioned claw foot tub or a shower in the upstairs bathroom. The house is located in a prime location 1 block off the main road making it very accessible in the winter snow and to all the various activities in the local community. Very large backyard with swing set/playground, the back of house is against approx. 50 acres of virgin forest that can be enjoyed from the brand new wrap-around deck. Excellent hill in back yard for sledding in the winter snow. Views from the back patio area makes it feel very secluded and private.
Memory foam mattresses on the Queen and Twin Beds.

Our Cabin was built in 1928. This is my wife and my first home that we bought in 2000. The two of us got married in 2002 and started major renovations to the Cabin, including all new wood flooring, tile, insulation, electrical wiring and drywall. The Cabin was completely gutted and everything was replaced with new material. This was all done while we lived in it spending every weekend making repairs for 8 years. I would never recommend anyone to live in a home while doing the type of repairs we did. In 2006 we had our first set of twins (Boy and Girl) and two years later we were blessed with our second set of twins making the Cabin that we love feel very small. In 2010, we moved out of our Cabin to a larger home and rented out our Cabin full time for one year. In 2012, our little Cabin was converted into a Vacation Rental and everything has been restored again to a new condition once again.
Kris Norlander purchased this cabin in 2000
My wife and I have lived in this area all of our life and would not live anywhere else in Southern California. It is a wonderful cozy little cabin that you will feel so comfortable in with all the amenities you would need to make it a perfect vacation location. We love our little Cabin and have taken so much pride in making it a home for us and have now invested time and efforts to make it a wonderful experience for you and your family. We hope that you enjoy your stay here and hope that everything is to your expectations.
People all across Southern California have driven up to our mountains every winter and summer to enjoy the snow, sledding, hiking and biking. Our cabin has some of the best sledding right in the backyard, plus the unoccupied 50 acres of forest right up against the cabin makes it a perfect place for the kids to get out and use all the built in energy. There is a local hiking trail directly in the backyard that is easily accessible.
We had a fabulous week in the cabin. We were able to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery and fresh mountain air. The kids loved the swing and slides out the back and we have enjoyed eating outside as this is something that we haven't had the pleasure of doing in Phoenix, AZ. as of yet. We explored lake arrowhead village, burnt mill beach, big bear lake and we even made a day trip to Disneyland, which we all thoroughly enjoyed. The cabin was wonderful and we will bring very happy memories back to Ireland when we return later this year.
This cabin is beautiful!!!! It has enough of what you need to be there for a few days. My family and I would love to go back there next year!!!!
My wife and I were attending a wedding nearby which started at 4 pm. Kris was gracious enough to make an exception to the 4 pm check-in policy so we could get there, freshen up, and still make it to the wedding on time. Our dog loved hiking with us in the woods next to the house. There's also a fenced in wrap-around porch, so our dog could sit outside unattended. The house is cute and cozy (aptly named). Cozy doesn't mean small--the downstairs felt especially spacious. It's reasonably priced for the area. I enjoyed the Fall colors, but I'm sure it's even nicer in the snow.
Access code worked right at time, we were traveling for a wedding with my wife and three children. Kids loved the swings in the backyard and that they all had there own bed. House is accommodating and spacious what a great find, the family what's to come back when there is snow on the ground. Good times thanks Norlanders!
We stayed here for the weekend and had a great time. The cabin is equipped with everything you need. It has a beautiful view to the forest. We would recommend this place to friends and hope to visit again. For those who are not familiar with Lake Arrowhead, I would recommend visiting Lake Gregory which is close by. Lake Arrowhead doesn't have much of an area for swimming but is great if you have a boat.
It was great. Very cozy and comfortable. Only thing is that there is no AC so for the summer it gets pretty hot but they do provide fans. Other than that it was great we will be coming back!
After a 20 hour plus drive we arrived at the cabin at 3:00 am exhausted. I got out of our van looked up at the cabin and my exhaustion turned into excitement at the sight of this cute cabin!! The porch light was welcoming shining through the 3am darkness. Inside the furnishings were nicely decorated, spacious and comfortable. Everything was clean we made good use of the grill. The patios were large and turned into perfect gathering places. Inside, there was a nice breeze coming through windows. We grilled plenty of food during the day perfect for evenings on the couch watching Netflix. My kids enjoyed the backyard with swingset perfect for adventures. Upstairs my 4 yr old cousin was happen to see a nook with a wooden toddler bed just for him. The owner Kris was friendly and responsive to any questions and our needs. The Norlander cabin made my kids first mountain cabin experience a great one!
