Vacasa - Vacation Rentals Made Easy:
Professionally managed and cleaned homes
Local assistance 24/7 for emergencies
Secure INSTANT booking
Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
When we arrived there was a huge herd of elk between the condo and the beach. We watched them until it was too dark to see. They weren't there the rest of our stay but I understand they come frequently.
We loved it being on the third floor, provides a good view. And it was quiet!
This place if very clean, very comfy. Everything we needed was there.
The bathtub does need a slip-proof mat. Bottom of the tub is very slippery.
Nice path to beach! Short distance to Seaside and Astoria and even Tillamook!
The view was AMAZING! You can drive right onto the beach in 2 minutes from the property! 2nd bedroom is fine for very small children, wouldn't put Tweens or teens in there. Overall, awesome location! Great place to relax and whale watch, we saw several.
We booked a rental through Vacasa for a Mothers Day holiday. We requested a HOUSE in a quiet community and ON A QUIET BEACH, with a "on the beach or with a beach view location." Instead we got a rundown old condo apartment, in a very busy crowded location and a beach view looking over old apartment roof tops with the beach far away. We got a beach with 100's of cars driving all over it and with 100's of people. When we drove up to the rental we were shocked! When we call Vacasa for assistance, none was offered except to say "you were sent a confirmation email of your rental and this is your rental!"
We will take the blame for only scanning over the confirmation email and having faith in our Vacasa agent. We can now see why they do not include an outside picture of this unit and have cropped and edit the view pictures so you don't see the ugly roof tops and make the beach look closer! We were also very disappointed when we called to talk with Vacasa and that they never a follow up with a call to see how we were doing or to see how they may make things better. We have rented many times from Vacasa, and they looked up our profile to see other places and areas on the Oregon coast we had rented, and we also only looked with the rental agent at houses with quiet beaches and communities. Never condo apartments. We had to drive 10 miles or more to find quiet beach and hikes, and thankfully we found some beautiful places to spend the day. We made the best out of our rental and situation, but with no help from Vacasa, which makes us really sad since we have rented from them many times and found them helpful and professional. Sadly, this time we were very disappoint with Vacasa.
Seems like all the condos at Gearhart are set well back from the beach, behind dunes, so I suspect there aren't many (if any) with "beach views". This unit is probably one of the best of the bunch. It's on the third floor (and has lovely vaulted ceilings) so you can see over the smaller units in front of it--you can see the waves breaking as they come in but you can't really see the beach. It's right across the street from the McMenamins and a good stroll to the downtown strip. Gearhart is a good locale to explore the North Coast--Astoria, Fort Stevens, etc.
