The redhead next to me is my wife Ana. We have 2 daughters who are grown and are on their own (not really, if you are a parent you know) and a 14 pound Schnoodle ( he thinks he is a giant). We have been living in the DC metro area for about 41 years and absolutely love it. Washington DC is a beautiful city for people coming here to spend their vacations, attend conferences, weddings, funerals (The Arlington Cemetery), graduations, sight seeing, festivals etc. etc. There isn't any city that offers so much. I manage the properties and Ana tells me what to do (!!!) We are a great team and enjoy doing what we do.
Allen purchased this Townhome in 2011
Why Allen chose Lanier Heights
This is a three level townhouse with a full separate basement below it that rents separately. It was designed and built in the turn of the past century with grandeur in mind. Most of these style of houses have been converted to condo units and there are not many around with such sprawling floors any more. The entire wood floor is original to the house. It really is a great house to stay in while in DC.
What makes this Townhome unique
This unit is close to tons of restaurants, cafes, bars, and shops. It is hard to find a house of this size and amenities in the area.

Perfect for us!!
I can't say enough about this great property in Adams Morgan. First off, the location is wonderful. It's in a beautiful, safe and friendly neighborhood: Coffee right across the street, incredible restaurants around the corner, and even some fun dance clubs down the street. The townhome itself is quite clean, spacious, comfortable and decorated beautifully. There were 9 of us staying together and we had plenty of room to spread out and enjoy our stay. And lots of towels were available which is always helpful! It's a quick walk to the metro, making it super easy for us to get to our sight-seeing locations. The owners, Allen and Juliet were exceptionally friendly and helpful. They checked in with us on our first day to make sure that we had settled in and to see if we needed anything. To top things off, they went above and beyond when I mistakenly left an entire drawer full of clothes in the upstairs dresser. They gathered my belongings and shipped them back to me in California. I am very grateful, and our entire group was tremendously pleased with our stay in this fine home. Thank you for everything!
My family loved this home and location! We will recommend to whomever will listen!!!
Nicely restored and spacious home in a terrific location
A classic restored row house near lots of great shops and restaurants. Well stocked with travel necessities like hair dryers, ironing board and iron, and kitchen staples. It was a great, comfortable place for our family to gather for the Thanksgiving holiday.
We are six cousins from all over the country that get together once a year in different locales. This year we chose DC and were delighted with our stay in the Adams Morgan area. The house and area were perfect for us. When we arrived there were a few items that were not working properly and the owner was at the house to repair them within hours...thank you, Allen. We were able to walk to some great restaurants for dinner and loved Tryst for breakfast and mid-afternoon lattes. We all had a wonderful time. And, if we decide to come back to DC - it will be our first choice.
Would highly recommend this home and the aditional English basement unit. It is exceptionally clean, comfortable and stocked with everything that a person uses in daily life. We really felt at home. Thank you.
A Walker's Paradise with a walk score of 97, this unit is a 12 minute walk from the Woodley Park-Zoo metro station. The National Mall is a twenty minute car ride, 30 minute metro ride, and a one hour walk away from the unit. There are two grocery stores (Safeway and Harris Teeter) and two CVS drugstores around the corner from the unit all within 5 to 10 minutes walk.
DuPont Circle is about 15 minutes walk from the house.
There are many restaurants near by as well as coffee houses and bars.
