Casco Cottage Rental Photos and Description

Point Sebago Resort Cottage, 2 Bedrooms + Loft, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 6)

This is what a vacation is all about! This Point Sebago Resort cottage is where lasting summer vacations & memories are made. Located in Maine's premiere golf and beach resort, this cottage offers a SECLUDED space for you and your family to spend some quality time on one of the cleanest freshwater lakes in New England, the country, and perhaps the world!

WE ARE LOCATED ON 39 PURPLE RD. - NEAR THE NEW OUTDOOR SPORTS CENTER! NEAR BEACH & Restaurant!

LOWER PRICES than Point Sebago Resort and many other Point Sebago Resort privately rented cottages but we are CLOSER & offer MORE BENEFITS!!!

Why is it LOWER???

...because we understand the cost of a FAMILY Vacation!!!

Secluded spot on site!...Lovely Flower Beds...Fresh Herbs for cooking...

The cottage is located on a private road in Point Sebago, a 775 acre, Golf and Beach Resort. Point Sebago has over three decades of history and a reputation unmatched in the business as a family-friendly resort that offers its guest as much activity or as little disturbance as desired. This privately-owned cottage is located in the Point Sebago BEACH Resort (not the Point Sebago GOLF Resort), one of only a few, and is only a minute walk down a private road to almost a mile of white-sand, private beach.

The cottage itself is larger than most offered on the resort and is TUCKED AWAY from the hustle of the resorts busy streets and offers guests the rest and relaxation they so deserve on their summer vacation. Driving right up to this beautifully landscaped cottage, with its unique variety of flora and fauna surrounding the pebble stone driveway, makes our guests feel like they are finally on vacation. Parking for TWO CARS in the driveway makes for easy unloading of all your supplies. The front porch has a love seat underneath an overhang that is perfect for coffee and just taking in that fresh Maine air.

Once inside you will get a warm feeling from enclosed sunroom surrounded by windows and topped by three skylights that allows the heart of this cottage to be lit entirely by natural light! The sunroom is set up to sleep two to four people with a great big and 'oh, so comfy!' day bed with trundle and a sofa bed. There is another very comfortable and large leather sofa and lounging chair in the sunroom. CABLE TV, VCR/DVD, and FREE HIGH SPEED WIFI-CABLE Internet port are in the sunroom, which are hard to find amenities at Point Sebago.

The dining area is located in front of a very large window that brightens up the table and everyone sitting at it! The table is leaf expandable and seats up to six people. Adjacent to the dining area is a serving bar and full-size and fully-loaded kitchen with everything you would need to make that gourmet coffee, quick soup or sandwich, or to cook your favorite family meal. NEW Stove, NEW refrigerator, NEW microwave, pots, pans, utensils, plates, cups, (cable TV's) etc. it's all there!

In addition, we provide a PHONE with local service in the kitchen. The easy-to-use temperature controls for the CENTRAL AIR AND HEATING UNIT is located in the kitchen, and FREE HIGH SPEED CABLE (with WIFI)

internet access from the sunroom !

There are two bedrooms in the cottage one in the front and the other in the back. The front room offers a very comfortable queen-size bed surrounded by windows. The closet in the front room has mirrored sliding doors making it unobtrusive and offers ample space for storage. The back bedroom is just as large and next to the bathroom. It offers a queen-size bed, shelves for storage overhead, and the same style closet as the front. Both bedrooms offer ceiling-hung TV's. The bathroom is complete with a shower inside a full-size tub.

This cottage also offers another living space ideal for children; a roomy loft. Located above the front bedroom with a hide-a-way ladder from the dining area, the loft has a partial gate to keep users safe, two wall-hung lights, a window, and storage area where you will find all the pillows and blankets you need to make this area comfortable for your children. All of the bedrooms come ready to use with pillows, blankets, and mattress pads.

The back porch is beautifully designed and almost 300 sq. feet. It has a large, glass, dining table complete with six chairs and a sturdy umbrella. We provide a GAS GRILLE on the back porch that is movable and easily used. The first can of propane is on us! This area is always a favorite spot for our guests to sit on those hot summer days with their favorite book & frosty beverage! The 'backyard' is full of wildlife as we keep bird feeders well stocked, even a hummingbird feeder that attracts those beautiful birds all season long. During those classic, Maine, summer nights sit and star gaze or grab a chair and take a step off the porch to the permanent fire pit, or stare off and count the fireflies.

All in all, this cottage offers guests everything they will need to have a memorable and carefree vacation. The pictures posted with this description were taken LAST SUMMER while a family stayed at our cottage and we hope they show you just how comfortable and livable it is. The sunroom is A PERFECT PLACE FOR A LAZY SUMMER AFTERNOON NAP!

Point Sebago offers daily-supervised activities for people aged three and up (including adults) that go all day long and some into the night, which our guests are welcome to use or avoid. There is an on-site ATM, general store, laundry facilities, a snack bar, fine-dining restaurant, a lounge with nightly entertainment, two bars, boat rentals, mini golf, 18-hole Point Sebago championship golf course, shuffleboard, tennis, and much, much more!

For more information about what is included in the price and availability, please contact us and start planning a vacation to remember today!

great family vacation house!

  • 5 of 5

My family of 4 had a wonderful stay at this Point Sebago property. It was very close to the beach but also quiet at night. The house was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed barbecuing on the large back deck. The kids loved the loft and that there were tvs in the bedrooms! The beach and activity areas were easily accessible and so much fun! We would definitely stay here again!

Making More Memories - Cottage was a Great Fit!

  • 5 of 5

Just got back from a great week at Point Sebago. Our 12th Year but this was our first year in this house. This was a great fit for my 3 generation family. Master Bedroom accomodated a portacrib just great. This house was the best stocked house we ever stayed in. I could have left so many things home! We even used some fresh herbs from the window boxes! Large Flat screen TV was a hit with the Red Sox fan in the family. Spacious deck was a great spot for playing board games. Fire pit was great and we loved the "replace what you use" rule for firewood. Only thing I would recommend is if you are coffee lovers (as we were) plan to bring your coffee pot from home. There is a 4 cup coffee pot along with an insulated carafe but I would have preferred to just brew one big pot every morning than make 3 small ones every day. I will know for next year! Easy walk from this house to the beach, the pavillion and the splash park but being on a dead end made for very little traffic. Owner was very easy to communicate with from my very first contact. Cannot wait for next year!

Great destination, Great accomodations, Great trip

  • 5 of 5

Point Sebago was everything we hoped for and more in a family vacation for myself, wife, and 8 and 5 year old. Very fun, safe, and family oriented. The accomodations on Purple Road were more than adequate for our needs and ended up being a great spot that was easy walking distance to all points at the resort yet tucked away and very quiet. The rental was very clean and had everything we needed to make a great vacation and we are already looking into our 2015 schedules to see when we can return for next year's vacation.

What a blast!

  • 5 of 5

My wife, 3 y/o son and another young couple with 2 young kids rented 39 Purple Road this past summer (just a few weeks ago in July in fact.) The house was so cute, clean and well maintained. The pictures are accuarte, and we were pleasantly surprised how well the place worked for us. Comfy porch in the front with some nice flowers and chairs to sit on. The back deck was huge, and the fire pit area was very comfy with a bench and stocked wood pile. The 2 bedrooms were perfect, and the loft was a neat space for our other overnight friends to sleep in. The large open sunroom was great for the kids to play in. The lake was huge, crystal clear and not cold at all. The resort its on has so much to do, or room to do nothing. We spent most of our time on the beach. There is a beach bar, organized and professionally supervised activities for anyone and everyone. We had mostly great weather, but the 2 days it did rain the cottage had wireless internet, dvd players and cable tvs so we found ways to stay occupied. The location within the resort is perfect for families. Just a 5 minute walk to the beach, or to the teen activity center, or to the restaurant/bar. If you have a family and want to make some memories in a safe, clean, fun place this cottage is a perfect choice! I recommend this property!

Misleading!!

  • 1 of 5

Upon arriving to the cottage, we discovered black dog hair everywhere!! This was quite a surprise considering there is a "NO PETS ALLOWED" policy. This is listed in the suitability section of the VRBO listing. We had to spend over 3 hours of our vacation cleaning. There was dog hair embedded on the blue futon, the daybed, all over the kitchen and living room floors, the door track, the countertops, the stovetops and even in the freezer!! In addition, their home was generally unclean. We had to scrub the bathtub, dust the cobweb filled chandelier above the kitchen table, scrub the grime off of the table, countertops and stove and clean the microwave. Initially, the owner was very cordial and insisted that the cleaning service must not have been there and will be promptly notified. Interestingly, he did not seem upset or surprised that a dog had been there. He called us back the next morning and said that the cleaning lady had in fact been there and had cleaned extensively. This time, he was very patronizing and bothered by my inconveniences. She arrived within the hour and was notably irritated, angry, and filled with excuses. She cleaned very little considering we had already cleaned for 3+ hours!! We asked her to wash 3 blankets and the daybed quilt since they were covered in black dog hair. She took these items on Sunday morning and NEVER brought them back for the rest of the week. However, she did inform us that this was a FAMILY dog that had been there. No wonder he wasn't surprised or upset about it!!!!!! However, we were!!! Our daughter's allergies suffered the entire week. Once we got home, I e-mailed the owner with my concerns and listed everything that we had to do in order to be comfortable in their home. So far, I have not received a response. No apology, no phone call.....nothing!!! He doesn't even have the courtesy to respond after we paid all of that money to rent his home. Needless to say, we will NOT be renting this property in the future and certainly would not recommend it to anyone else.......unless of course you like to spend over 3 hours of your relaxing vacation cleaning up dog hair!!

Owner's Response: It is important to us to hear from all our renters about their stay and we thank those that have publically posted their comments about their time at our cottage here online, including others from this year. We aim to provide a cottage that is a comfortable place for families vacationing at Point Sebago. The above is the first negative review that we have received in the years renting our cottage out to dozens of satisfied families. We have a policy of reaching out to all our families following their time at our cottage. Most families that rent from us return year after year to enjoy our cottage again and again. This review is of particular interest to us because the families that rented in the weeks before and after this family did report to us finding the cottage in a very welcoming and comfortable condition upon their arrival. There are several statements in the above review that are unfortunately false. We were in regular communication with this renter upon hearing a concern from them. We believe that we took the actions appropriate in response to this renter’s unusual concerns. Afterward, we met with our cleaning company to review their procedures. Again, this is the first negative review that we have received in years. Dozens of families have been happy renters of our cottage during that time (including the one above who wanted to rent it again the last day of his vacation the year before). We are proud of our long track record over the years providing a family friendly environment for those that rent our cottage. If potential renters would like additional information about the experience that people have had renting our cottage we are happy to place them in touch with other families that have rented from us.

Our Family Summer Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Every year for the last six years we have taken our family vacation at Point Sebago. My kids would have it no other way. I remember a family member trying to talk us into going and I couldn't imagine spending a week in the "woods" as he put it. My kids have grown up on Point Sebago and now that they are 13 and 15 it is their favorite time of year. They are now older and make new friends every year that they can't wait to go back and see.

After all of that I can't say enough about the wonderful people that we have rented from over the last six years. They all of been incredible and I feel fortunate to have such a wonderful, fun and safe place to bring my family. This year the owners even left us a welcome basket which was way over and above. I just love this place!
