Charm & Serenity

  • 5 of 5

We visited Herb Cottage for a long weekend in late April and were immediately captivated by its serenity and charm. The cottage is beautifully decorated and appointed with thoughtful, welcoming touches like the cozy socks for cold toes and small bouquet of flowers on the edge of the bathroom sink. The living room offered a great place to curl up with a book and on sunny days we took full advantage of the quiet garden patio (complete with a family of white tail deer!) - the perfect spot to sit with a glass of wine. Like home, but better.

The village of Woodstock with it's cafes, bookstores, and shops is easily accessible when supplies or an outing are required. We would love to come back again!

Fantastic stay - perfect cozy spot!

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our mini honeymoon at the herb cottage and couldn't have asked for more. Such a perfect cozy getaway surrounded by loads of green and flowering lilacs. We're used to close quarters living in New York City, and the cottage felt similar being a very small house - but it really had all the amenities we were looking for. Loved the gold clawfoot tub and the breakfast nook in the kitchen. Also a tremendous DVD selection and super comfy swivel chairs.

The hosts set you up with all the local recommendations and history of the area.

Would recommend this place for folks who want to get cozy and away from the hustle and bustle!

The Perfect City Escape

  • 5 of 5

The Herb Cottage was everything I hoped it would be and more!

After only a few days it has started to feel like I've been coming here all my life.

Everywhere I look there are thoughtful act of care and guidance from the owners. The book, movie, and magazine selections are extensive and well curated. It is clear that a lot of love went into creating something magical here and it is very much felt.

I traveled here by myself to get away from the city, and there was a brief moment I felt lonely. In that moment the Herb Cottage led me to the CD player, Van Morrison, and the maracas...need I say more?

I look forward to seeing what magic unfolds when I return.

Lovely reminder of old, arts-colony Woodstock

  • 5 of 5

Quiet, comfortable, elegant--the cottage reminded me of being in France. My family has a long history in Woodstock until they sold their property on Tannery Brook in 1971. I've searched for a place that offered the same sensibility for many years and only just found it. Everything was perfect and I intend to rent the writer's studio next door when I'm finishing my next book. Thank you for the opportunity to stay here. Heartily recommend it.

The pictures don't do this place justice....

  • 5 of 5

As soon as we walked inside we were instantly enamored with the charm & character of this beautiful cottage. The wood stove was divine and there was enough wood provided inside for the entire stay. Everything we needed was provided. Customer service with Chelsea was unbelievable - she was excellent. It was quiet, and even though it's near a road, the house is completely isolated from inside, you really get the full cottage experience. The bed was super comfortable (so were the sheets and blankets). And we cooked inside everyday and the kitchen had everything we needed. There was a super friendly supermarket maybe 5 minutes away by car. All in all, this was an amazing experience- as a Brooklyn girl, I never knew what Woodstock had to offer and oh my goodness is it more than worth it. Will most definitely be back and this time for a much longer stay.
