An amazing location for exploring Paris! The Wall Street Journal in January, 2014 calls our neighbourhood (the 6th) the 'Creme de la Creme' and now the most expensive address in Paris with a rustic vibe that evokes the feel of an 18th century neighbourhood with 21st century amenities and has been the stomping grounds for Europe's intellectual & artistic elite for the last 100 years. Enjoy this beautifully renovated, bright, two bedroom, two bathroom (each with shower, sink + toilet) apartment. Elegantly furnished and appointed- all brand new high end furniture & appliances. Large bright double sitting room with sofa-bed and three French windows overlooking the street, writing/computer plug in desk, dining area for 6, dishwasher, induction hob, full size fridge/freezer, coffeemaker, Nespresso machine, fully equipped. Both bedrooms face onto quiet courtyard. Both are air conditioned for summer comfort. Master bathroom is en suite (shower, sink + wc) with queen size bed and lots of storage in large mirrored closet. Second bath (shower, sink + wc) has washer + dryer for your convenience. Elevator. 2TVs. Free wifi internet, free long distance calls – including to cellphones in North America, cable TV. About Jane Ferguson

I am a Toronto lawyer who lived and studied in Paris for a year when I was in my early 20's. I met my American husband that year in Paris. Since then, Paris has always been a special place for me. We now live in Toronto with our two university age sons.

Jane Ferguson purchased this apartment in 2012

Why Jane Ferguson chose Odéon

My dream of owing a pied-a-terre in Paris was formed the year I lived there in the early 80's and was finally realized in 2012 when I found this apartment in the perfect location in St. Germain des Pres on the border of the Latin Quarter and a short walk to the Seine - perfect for exploring Paris. It was an estate sale - a rabbit-warren of rooms badly in need of renovation. I took the plunge and spent 6 months doing a total gut and reno. As a result, everything (even the drywall, plumbing & electrical) is all new. I can't use it as much as I would like to so I am delighted to be able to share it with others.

What makes this apartment unique

The location is superb. The amenities complete. Everything is new but fixtures and finishes were chosen to give it a classic elegant Paris apartment feel. I hope you will feel at home there. (One of my repeat clients calls it 'our apartment'!)

Foodies and cooks will love the proximity to the Marche St. Germain food market (open each day but Monday - open 8:30 - 1 Tues - Sat & 8:30 - 1 Sunday) and the organic & eco-friendly Boulevard Raspail market and flea market on Sunday (between rue du Cherche-Midi & rue de Rennes, open 8:30 - 2:30 p.m. Sundays) and the famed epicerie/food hall at the Bon Marche department store south just into the 14th district - about a 15 minute walk from the apartment.

Best location in Paris!

  • 5 of 5

The location of the apartment is amazing. We were able to walk to so many great places—the Musée D’Orsay, Luxembourg Gardens, restaurants, etc. And if it was further away one of the three subway lines nearby got us there.

The apartment has everything you could need. Past rentals had barely adequate dishes, fridge space and utensils but this place has a fully equipped modern kitchen. We actually enjoyed staying in one night and preparing dinner—a nice change. The beds and linens were nicer and more comfortable than other past rentals as well.

We hope to make this “our” apartment in Paris whenever we return.

PERFECT Location in comfortable, modern flat

  • 5 of 5

OMG!! We (2x adults and 6&7 yr old) stayed here for 6 nights. It is centrally located to everything. Literally can walk to all sites... we did! From the Louvre to Notre Dame to Jardin du Luxembourg all are 15-20 mins or less. The apartment has plenty of resturants, cafes, bakeries, creperies and markets within 2 blocks that you could make a vacation of just those locations.

The apartment has a very modern and casual feeling while keeping some of the Parisien kitschy charm. Plenty of space, appliances and stuff to make you feel at home.

The metro and bus stations are also within 2 blocks to get you anywhere in the city...

Not sure when we are coming back to Paris, but this will be the place to stay forever!

Lovely flat, great location

  • 5 of 5

We just spent 10 days in Paris. The flat could not have worked out better. Greeted by Roland on arrival, he had to brave snow. The flat was perfect for us. Very clean with all amenities. Close to the Metro and many dining options.

Looking very fondly to another stay.

Beautiful & Convenient

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I just spent 10 days in this happy apartment. I agree with the others that the apartment is even nicer in person. The living room/dining room is large by Paris standards. The master bedroom was a perfect size with good closet space and a private bathroom. The other room has a full size bed and is small but we had friends from the South of France visit for 3 nights and they said they were very comfortable. There is also another full bathroom down the hall. The kitchen was fully equipped, although we didn't use it much.

Roland gave us a perfect welcome and overview of all the obvious and not so obvious things, like how to pull on the front door as you turn the key to unlock it. Roland was also very kind to set up a departure taxi for us and called us the night before to remind us that he did so.

The wifi was very good, that is very important to us.

The area has many great bars, restaurants and shopping. A few nights the young crowd party the night away but it didn't bother us to hear them.

There are many wonderful books in the apartment about Paris and France that I enjoyed reading through. We will rent this apartment again in the future without hesitation.

Lovely apartment, great location

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful 2 week stay in this apartment. After some initial small problems after a long flight (multiple keypads to enter building, stairs to reach very small elevator, tricky front door), we grew to feel very happy in the apartment. It is very well appointed and comfortable, with 2 sofas and multiple chairs. The internet works well. The beds are comfortable. Although the second bedroom is really only big enough for a bed, it worked out okay for two adults (who weren't a couple) who didn't mind being closed in, as it is more like an alcove. There is plenty of closet space. We enjoyed having English language TV stations to keep up with the news. The location can't be beat. You have dozens of great restaurants and bars nearby, and all of the tourist places to visit you could want. I imagine the noise from the rowdy bars on the narrow street can be a problem at times, but the bedrooms are in the back and quieter. We only had one night where there was a loud group outside that woke us up in the middle of the night. Overall, thumbs up!

Map

Car: not necessary

In the heart of historic St.Germain des Pres, steps from St. Sulpice, and just south of Boulevard St. Germain off the rue du Four. Close to metro stops St. Germain and Mabillon. 1/3 of a mile to Luxembourg Gardens. Short walk to the Latin Quarter. In the heart of the city and the famous literary quarter and a 5 minute walk to Cafe les deux magots - a favourite haunt of Hemingway, Stein, F. Scott Fitzgerald and their contemporaries and the Cafe de Flore - favoured by Picasso (who lived and painted nearby) and Jean Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir. Walking distance to many museums. Foodies will love the proximity to the St. Germain market (open every day but Monday), the Organic market on the Boulevard Raspail every Sunday and the famous food hall a 15 minute walk south in Le Bon Marche department store. The apartment is on a small medieval street filled with restaurants, cafes, bars and little shops. A great launching pad for sightseeing, walking, shopping and more.
