An amazing location for exploring Paris! The Wall Street Journal in January, 2014 calls our neighbourhood (the 6th) the 'Creme de la Creme' and now the most expensive address in Paris with a rustic vibe that evokes the feel of an 18th century neighbourhood with 21st century amenities and has been the stomping grounds for Europe's intellectual & artistic elite for the last 100 years. About Jane Ferguson
I am a Toronto lawyer who lived and studied in Paris for a year when I was in my early 20's. I met my American husband that year in Paris. Since then, Paris has always been a special place for me. We now live in Toronto with our two university age sons.
Jane Ferguson purchased this Apartment in 2012
Why Jane Ferguson chose Saint-Germain-des-Prés
My dream of owing a pied-a-terre in Paris was formed the year I lived there in the early 80's and was finally realized in 2012 when I found this apartment in the perfect location in St. Germain des Pres on the border of the Latin Quarter and a short walk to the Seine - perfect for exploring Paris. It was an estate sale - a rabbit-warren of rooms badly in need of renovation. I took the plunge and spent 6 months doing a total gut and reno. As a result, everything (even the drywall, plumbing & electrical) is all new. I can't use it as much as I would like to so I am delighted to be able to share it with others.
What makes this Apartment unique
The location is superb. The amenities complete. Everything is new but fixtures and finishes were chosen to give it a classic elegant Paris apartment feel. I hope you will feel at home there. (One of my repeat clients calls it 'our apartment'!) Foodies and cooks will love the proximity to the Marche St. Germain food market (open each day but Monday - open 8:30 - 1 Tues - Sat & 8:30 - 1 Sunday) and the organic & eco-friendly Boulevard Raspail market and flea market on Sunday (between rue du Cherche-Midi & rue de Rennes, open 8:30 - 2:30 p.m. Sundays) and the famed epicerie/food hall at the Bon Marche department store south just into the 14th district - about a 15 minute walk from the apartment.

Comfort and beauty come together
I have stayed in Paris many times but this is where I want t go back to. The location was perfect and the apartment was very thought out. Not only beautiful but done with comfort in mind. I loved that there were air conditioning in both bedrooms so you could shut the house up at night and you never heard any noise from off the streets. Comfort, beauty, and convenience make it a special time in Paris.
Perfectly situated in elegant neighborhood walking distance from everything.
The apartment is a lovely, comfortable, and inviting two bedroom, two bath base camp that is surrounded by culture, cuisine, history, and entertainment. 30 minutes walk (or less) to some of the world's greatest art, grand architecture, stunning parks, and boating on the Seine, we cannot think of a better location, or a better way to stay. And unlike most hotels, here you can shop for local, fresh foods and save more than a few Euros preparing some or all of your meals in the full kitchen.
A special thanks to the property manager Roland, who settled us in upon our arrival and assisted with arrangements at the end of our stay. He was very charming and could not have been more helpful.
This was a 100% positive experience for us.
Superb location, lovely apartment
The location of this apartment on a small street between St. Germain and St. Sulpice (with Luxembourg Gardens just beyond) is hard to beat for anyone wishing to enjoy a small bit of the Paris life. This 3rd floor apartment has an elevator, but one must walk up the first flight to find it. The busses and Metro are close, the covered St. Germain market is a block away. The apartment is nicely furnished, elegant without being stuffy and has everything one needs, from comfortable beds to dishwasher to laundry machine to kitchen equipment. We look forward to enjoying another stay here.
Best location in Paris!
The location of the apartment is amazing. We were able to walk to so many great places—the Musée D’Orsay, Luxembourg Gardens, restaurants, etc. And if it was further away one of the three subway lines nearby got us there.
The apartment has everything you could need. Past rentals had barely adequate dishes, fridge space and utensils but this place has a fully equipped modern kitchen. We actually enjoyed staying in one night and preparing dinner—a nice change. The beds and linens were nicer and more comfortable than other past rentals as well.
We hope to make this “our” apartment in Paris whenever we return.
loved the apartment, comfortable, well equipped, cozy, extra bathroom a plus. also good supports, we were well looked after and had access to information re: local amenities.
PERFECT Location in comfortable, modern flat
OMG!! We (2x adults and 6&7 yr old) stayed here for 6 nights. It is centrally located to everything. Literally can walk to all sites... we did! From the Louvre to Notre Dame to Jardin du Luxembourg all are 15-20 mins or less. The apartment has plenty of resturants, cafes, bakeries, creperies and markets within 2 blocks that you could make a vacation of just those locations.
The apartment has a very modern and casual feeling while keeping some of the Parisien kitschy charm. Plenty of space, appliances and stuff to make you feel at home.
The metro and bus stations are also within 2 blocks to get you anywhere in the city...
Not sure when we are coming back to Paris, but this will be the place to stay forever!
In the heart of historic St.Germain des Pres, steps from St. Sulpice, and just south of Boulevard St. Germain off the rue du Four. Close to metro stops St. Germain and Mabillon. 1/3 of a mile to Luxembourg Gardens. Short walk to the Latin Quarter. In the heart of the city and the famous literary quarter and a 5 minute walk to Cafe les deux magots - a favourite haunt of Hemingway, Stein, F. Scott Fitzgerald and their contemporaries and the Cafe de Flore - favoured by Picasso (who lived and painted nearby) and Jean Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir. Walking distance to many museums. Foodies will love the proximity to the St. Germain market (open every day but Monday), the Organic market on the Boulevard Raspail every Sunday and the famous food hall a 15 minute walk south in Le Bon Marche department store. The apartment is on a small medieval street filled with restaurants, cafes, bars and little shops. A great launching pad for sightseeing, walking, shopping and more.
