2012 remodel of 1930's Spanish, overlooking the trees, waterfalls and lake known as the Rowena Reservoir. Indoor/outdoor California living at its very best. Quiet, serene neighborhood near EVERYTHING, nestled just below Griffith Park's trails, streams, Zoo, horses, golf and tennis courts.

Private lake view deck for your morning coffee, sunset glass of wine or just lake and hummingbird viewings. Or arrange with us to use the expansive lake view terrace (by request if we're not using it).

New gourmet kitchen, spacious living room & dining room gorgeous finishes. Large bedroom & closet, washer/dryer.

Abundant street parking (the road is below the view!).

One king size bed is the only sleeping accommodation (for 1 or 2 persons).


Advanced sound proofing means you don't hear us next door (although we're quiet anyway). We're right next door if you need anything-- but you'll never hear-- or probably even see us, if you don't.

WALK to the Silver Lake Trader Joe's the Silverlake Gelson's supermarket and many of Silverlake's wonderful restaurants and shops.

People love to walk our neighborhood of gently rolling hills (and a few bigger ones) to enjoy a look at the mansions up the hill, the geese on the lake, the charming small apartment buildings, the wonderful gardens.

10 minute drive to Hollywood, Downtown, Glendale, Burbank.

Silverlake or Silver Lake or any other way you like at it's finest. We are actually located in Los Feliz, (which has it's own lovely eating/dining/shopping strip--Hillhurst Avenue). But we're just a block from Silverlake's most charming shopping area.

We love staying at Lake Vew. It is beautiful and comfortable. Steve and John are most accommodating and responsive. It's beginning to feel like home away from home.

Beautiful home with a gorgeous view

We thoroughly enjoined our week in this beautifully appointed apartment in convenient Silverlake. Home included everything we needed, including a well designed kitchen, comfy bed with high quality bedding, satellite tv with every station imagineable, ceiling fans and central a/c. This last item was a key feature, as our stay included 3 consecutive days of 100+ degree temperatures, and the balance in the 90's. Although Steve, the owner, was out of town during most of our stay, he was very helpful in providing information and assistance when we lost power on one of those 100 degree days. He didn't hesitate at all in reimbursing us for the night we had to stay in a hotel. Exactly the kind of response you hope to get from a landlord, but rarely do! Overall, a great stay! Would definitely recommend, and look forward to staying there again when we next visit Los Angeles.

Lake View Spanish in Silver Lake-Wonderful!

My husband and I recently visited our son in LA and were looking for a place to stay near his apartment. John and Steve's guest house was exactly like the pictures. As soon as we arrived, we followed the directions that they had emailed us and the guest house was pristine. There is a beautiful garden patio that you have an excellent view of the lake. You are able to walk to eateries, Trader Joe's and small shops within two to three blocks. There was parking available on the street and were able to access Uber when we visited the Getty and other tourist sites. This is much better than a hotel. We would stay here again on our next visit to LA. Thanks to these great hosts.

Silver Lake Oasis

Exceptional place to stay in Silver Lake. Apartment was super clean, bright and well appointed. Open concept w/ patio out front - the grounds were well kept and absolutely beautiful w/ succulents. Excellent use of plants to screen neighbors made for a feeling of privacy along w/ nice view of the reservoir. Peaceful, quiet setting but close to shopping w/ Trader Joe's and Gelson's a couple of blocks away, it made shopping for food & beverages easy. Apartment was exceptional in all ways. Owners are a bit on the particular side - but for good reason, as they've a real jewel of an apartment and they want to keep it in excellent shape for others to enjoy. Being a bit particular regarding the care and use of their apartment doesn't and shouldn't be construed to mean that the owners were anything but pleasant to work with and professional in their business acumen. On a scale of 10, I'd rate our experience (my wife & I) as a 9.9, with the 1/10th deduction taken for the fact the apartment only accommodates two guests - would have been absolute perfection (ie, 10) had we been able to have our son, who we were visiting, stay overnight vs having to drive to his place later at night. Nothing but appreciation and high praise for the quality of the accommodations, the beauty of the patio and plantings, and the professional, but personal conduct of the owners. I'm almost reluctant to rate the apartment and experience so high as I don't want it to get so popular that we're unable to book it for our next trip. Thank you Steve & John for creating such an excellent space and for your willingness to make it available to visitors to LA. Beats a comparably, or more expensively, priced hotel in every aspect and - did I mention that parking was incredible easy - curbside just outside the gate to the property. Lastly, the owners were up front, honest and accurately characterized the property, the grounds and the parking in every aspect, as well as their expectations for ensuring your stay is comfortable while maintaining respect for their property and the privacy of their neighbors. Excellence in every aspect - well done, can't wait to return.

La La Land as it should be!

Our stay in this lovely abode could not have been more perfect.

The original architectural details have been enhanced by careful restoration and upgrading, by a stunning succulent garden and by the pleasing view of the Rowena Reservoir.

The interior space was light filled, airy, comfortable, and inviting.

The kitchen and BBQ were meant for making meaningful meals plus having two grocery stores just around the corner was a breeze for shopping.

Mahalo nui loa John and Steve, for sharing this special place with others such as us!
