great location

My family really liked the little house and pool. You're walking distance to the ocean and snorkeling. everything was in good shape, clean, checkin and checkout was simple. I would rent here again.

Private Casita right across the street from the water - Upscale neighborhood

  • 5 of 5

-Perfect location: North of the busy hotel district in the high-rent residential area. South of the lighthouse.

-Immaculately clean.

-Spacious bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen/living area with high ceilings.

-Great little pool with 2 deck chairs and a couple sets of tables and chairs.

-Safe gated property. Security system and room safe available. Room to park the car inside the gait.

-Prompt and courteous owners and caretaker.

-Well stocked for cooking and dining in.

-We couldn't stay longer.

-Intersection of the main road is in the view of the lovely coast along this part of the Island. (For an unobstructed view, you'll have to stay with the thronging masses in one of the hotels/condos. Or just take the beach chairs and walk across the street.)

Less than 200 meters walking in either direction to sandy beach access to great snorkeling.

Perfect for us! We prefer a bit of peace and quiet, but being just a few minutes drive from the necessities. Grocery store and restaurants are just a quick trip away. Oranjestad is busy with lots of shopping, hoopla and traffic - 15-20 minutes away.

Sunrise views are just a few minute drive North to the tip of the Island.

King-size Bed in Master bedroom was comfortable. (Didn't try the other room.) Bathroom and gigantic shower are amazing. Kitchen had everything we needed. (Lis - the house-keeper/hostess replaced our broken blender and incorrect gait key right away.) We ate in quite a bit and wanted for nothing.

Both Lis and the owner, Mercedes, were amazing and very easy to work with.

AC and fans in each room. We found that we did need a little AC in the bedroom, but usually just used open windows and the breeze to keep everything else very comfortable during the days we were "home".

The pool is lovely and professionally cleaned 2x/week. The Lizards, birds and resident Iguana are polite.

Feels very safe and private.

You can't really see or hear the main house sharing the property - on the other side of the wall with its own pool and entrances.

Wifi is very helpful for making dinner reservations and finding options for adventures.

I highly recommend this property!

Also recommend:

-Try a jeep for a day or two to explore the east coast.

-Bring snorkel gear.

-Drive down and walk Eagle beach. Lovely!

-Best Dutch pancakes are at Linda's - simply amazing.

-Elements, Madame Jeanette's and Yamanja's wood-fire grill were all excellent dining options.

Our own private resort!

  • 5 of 5

This by far was one of our best vacations! The house was beautiful and equipped with everything we needed (kitchen pots pans etc and towels, beach chairs, cooler etc). We loved having our own private pool to come home in the evenings and relax. The house was safe and well secured. It even came with a safe to lock up our valuables! We loved that we didn't have to share the space with anyone. We could get up, make our breakfast and eat it on the deck outside in the breeze. We choose to eat dinners out but had breakfast and lunch at the house. Gave us more time for activities on the island. This would be a perfect place for a honeymoon or romantic get away because how private the house and pool are. I liked having a car to come and go, but there is a bus stop across the street if you wanted to save a few bucks. And if you are there to soak up the sun, sand and water, just a quick walk across the street and you are at the best snorkeling spot on the island. A few more steps and there is a nice, less populated beach with calm waters. Yes there is a resident iguana...he comes to the pool daily it seems. Our daughter waited so patiently to get good photos of him but we could only catch him once. We love nature so this kind of thing excited us to see. We didnt use the beach chairs but from what I could see they were in great shape. Not sure what the fuss was about in previous comments. The beds were comfortable and the rooms accommodating for all our stuff. We even loved the double shower. Was a great way to get ready quicker by sharing a shower instead of having to wait for someone to get done. Again, we maximized our time for other activities. We didn't want to miss a single thing Aruba had to offer.

The owners greeted us when we arrived. And they also helped quickly when I realized the stove gas was not turned on. We had an early flight home and the cleaning lady was late. I was glad I talked to the owner on the previous night about our early departure. He offered us an alternative for turning in the keys if the cleaning lady wasn't on time, that allowed us the time we needed to get to the airport instead of waiting for her. I would definitely stay at this house again! To us, the house was perfect!

Perfect location and beautiful house

  • 5 of 5

The house was beautiful. Perfect decor and great location. Clean, safe, and easy. Loved being able to get to perfect snorkeling within 5 minutes by foot or 2 minutes by car. Best location on island to have quiet day on beach along with the best snorkeling. Loved being able to go home and relax in pool or under the tiki hut while cooking on the BBQ. Easy to get to grocery store or to nearby night life. Only complaint - need new beach chairs.

Definitely booking for any future trips and would highly recommend to anyone.

Recommendation to Casita Atardi

  • 5 of 5

My family spent 3 wks in January 2015 on a holiday in Casida Atardi. We were very satisfied there. The house is very comfortable and fully equipped for luxurious holiday. In addition the regular cleaning house and swimming pool increases a quality of stay. The big advantages are also an excellent location with ocean view and very comfortable beaches availability by foot (Catalina and Arashi beach) or by car (5-10 minutes to Palm beach and Eagle beach) and swimming pool and a lot of relaxing zones on the terrace. The homeowners Mercedes and Willem are very nice and friendly people and willing to advice and/or help with whosewer and whenever. We fully recommend this place for a luxurious holiday.

A good rental, would stay again.

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I recently rented this house over the Christmas break for 2 weeks. The first week we were just the two of us, and the second week we had another couple join us.

The one thing to note - the house is not a stand alone house..its a "casita"…so it is actually attached to another main house (I think it maybe a converted garage?) The main house also is a separate rental.

Over the first 5 days of our stay, we had small issues each day. Each time I emailed Mercedes and she was very prompt at responding.

The pool was a great addition to the house, however due to the wind that blew all day every day, it got very dirty very quickly and required cleaning (daily in my opinion) However, the pool cleaning was only twice in 7 days, meaning by day 2 there was a large brown ring around the pool (like you would see in a bathtub) with leaves, branches, bugs, and sometimes crabs in the pool. As well, there was a somewhat large iguana that would come out each day and leave us a large "surprise" on the pool deck each day (right on the ledge of the pool, with some of it running into the pool).

The house was set up good, most items in working order. The toaster was broken and did not work and the oven was a NG one with no directions on how to start it (missing manual) Mercedes ensured we received a new toaster for our morning toast and Lis (the house manager) showed me how to light the oven. She is great.

The house is advertised for 4-6, but there are only lounge chairs for 2. This seemed odd to me, and I asked to have 2 more when our friends arrived. The answer was no. We looked to buy 2, but the price is very expensive so our friends sat on the pool deck. As well, there were 2 "bag" chairs that you could take to the beach. However, the chairs are in such bad state (ripped to the point of being useless) so we just used our beach towels to take to the beach. The Wifi worked great, that was a great thing.

The AC quit with error code on the machine during the 2nd week of our stay. I emailed Mercedes, to which I received a quick response and the AC repair man arrived about 2 days after I logged the issue. However, they took the remote control when they left (they put it in their pocket), so I had to email Mercedes again to ask them to return it. I receive no response, however 2 days later we found the remote totally by accident on the table just over the brick wall (so the AC repair guy must have come by and threw it on the outside table)

Aruba is one of the most temperate islands in the Caribbean. Constantly moderated by trade winds from the Atlantic Ocean, Aruba has an average daytime temperature of 82° Fahrenheit (27° Celsius), with the difference between median day and night temperatures, and between summer and winter temperatures just 3.6°.

Aruba is an island of contrasting terrain. The southeast has the white sand beaches, turquoise seas, and warm waters. Aruba has an arid, almost desert like interior. The northwest coast, exposed to the Atlantic, has a few white sand beaches, rough seas and a rocky coastline. In Aruba you will see wind-bent divi-divi trees, many different varieties of cacti, and unique rock formations.
