Here are a few comments from some of our quests. . .
'Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us!! We had a wonderful weekend with plenty of rest and relaxation -- exactly what we needed!'
'Brenda, thanks once again from all of us. We're leaving and none of us want to. . .Lol.'
'Thanks for the amazing weekend. We really enjoyed the cabin, the kayaks, and everything this place had to offer. The lake was beautiful.'
'We have never had a nicer vacation. We loved 'Up Country' and wished it was ours.'
'We can't thank you enough for giving us the chance to enjoy your little piece of heaven on earth. Up Country is truly an amazing gem. We love it here. A peaceful home away from home.'
'We all loved the quaint ambiance of your sweet cabin. There were so many little, thoughtful and unique items...It is apparent you are about your guests' experience. We also loved the clear and positive energy that radiates throughout your cabin and property.'
'We have rented many places over the last 30 years and we all agree: hands down - yours was the cleanest and nicest place of them all! '
In 1971 while vacationing with my family on Lake Wentworth, my dad and mom made one of the most pivotal decisions in in their lives...They bought their 'slice of heaven'. Forty years later, their legacy lives on with shared memories and new experiences with family, friends, and folks like you who choose to come, stay and listen to the loons. In 1984 dad and mom purchased a log home kit from Lok-n-Log in New York and proceeded to construct the home that is on the property today. During construction dad and mom lived in what is now the barn, using the existing pot belly stove as their only source of heat all winter long! Dad's handiwork is lovingly evident in the polished wooden shelves, pine ceilings, and slate hearth. Dad and mom gave us a lasting tribute to their love for the tranquility and beauty of Lake Wentworth. As their daughter, it is my joy to share this magical place with others. I welcome you to come and experience the charm of 'Up Country'.

This was the perfect distance to the ice rink and the open space with the kitchen and living room made it really easy for all of us to hang out. We definitely want to stay there again
This property presented itself very well online. Communication with Brenda was easy and she was very responsive. We had a good feeling about this one. When we arrived, we were blown away. It went beyond our expectations. And then some. Rustic log cabin with appropriate furnishings. Furnishings that were NOT torn and frayed, like you might find in other rustic log cabins. Modern kitchen. Great bathroom with strong water pressure--usually an issue. The property is has its own beach, two kayaks, a canoe, fire pit, hammock, a couple of lounge chairs, bikes, a grill, various water toys and horse shoes. It was simply ideal. At night, we'd sit on the deck and watch the stars. Happened to be there during the meteor shower and that was spectacular. It gets very quiet there at night. Only sounds were crickets, an occasional loon and voices drifting across the lake from across the way. The town of Wolfeboro is within walking distance along an old rail road track that's been converted into a trail. It's the perfect resort town, everything you need. Highly recommend this property and would love to get back their next summer and, in the future, in fall.
I wanted to treat my husband to one of his favorite activities — fishing — for Father's Day weekend, and also have all his children (ages ranging from 18 to 2) with him. This location was perfect. The older kids used the kayaks and canoes while the younger kids played on the sandy beach section. The house itself was clean and comfortable. We had plenty of room for everyone to enjoy activities together and enough space for everyone to get some alone time as well. I personally enjoyed the views I witnessed with my early morning coffee sitting by the lake. We enjoyed our time so much that I've already booked another trip to Up Country. Thank you!
I am one of a group of six college friends who gets together every year for a weekend in the fall. This was my year to plan the weekend and I chose this rental based on the add I saw on this site. It was exactly as promoted. My friends and I have been going on these weekend for 30 years and we all agreed that this was the cleanest most well appointed rental we have ever stayed in. It was like staying at a friend's house where they have everything you need and they encourage you to use it.
The owner was a delight to work with. She answered all my questions before I booked and was available by phone if we had any questions during our stay. She left detailed instructions to let us know where everything was so our stay was stress-free.
The property is right on the lake so we were able to sit by the water and enjoy the view. Enjoying the sunrise was a special treat. The location on a quiet gravel road meant easy access to a nice walk to start each day. We spent time in Wolfeboro (great little town!) and also went to Castle in the Clouds.
I highly recommend Up Country - and I hope to return for another stay!
We spent our New Year's vacation at Up Country with several families and we were very comfortable in this homey log cabin. The open floor plan allowed us all to visit together and the wood stove kept us warm and cozy. Brenda was a very accommodating host providing linens, towels, and plenty of firewood. There were empty closets and drawers for our stuff and comfy furnishings. The cupboards are well stocked with everything necessary to prepare and serve a family meal. The location is very peaceful with a stunning view of Lake Wentworth yet we were only minutes to downtown Wolfeboro. We had a very enjoyable weekend cooking, reading, sewing, knitting and visiting. I would highly recommend Up Country to anyone looking for a clean and lovely vacation spot.
I rented this hidden gem the weekend after labor day. Their was 8 of us all guys. On arrival we where just amazed on how picture perfect this house was. The house was very well stocked and she give you free run of anything on the property. The sleeping arrangements where excellent we did not even have all the beds this property offer used. The neighbors where very quite and polite if they saw you out. There is a nice yard that leads over to the horse shoe and fire pit. It also leads down to the dock and your own PRIVATE BEACH. Brenda is an extremely nice women and she is very easy to work with. This house means a lot to hear and she dose a great job with the upkeep and making her clients happy. I would like to Thank You Brenda for the memories we made that weekend.
