The rental price includes the entire 13-acre property- cabin, tent and rancho. Clay, the amazing property manager, is a 5 minute walk away and can help you with any needs. We have not yet found a rental comparable in privacy in this area. You will be self serving at this rental and enjoy the peace and quite away from town, cars, and noises from society. You will be greeted by parrots, enjoying the sounds of the jungle and calmed by the crashing of the the waves. Off the grid and green, our home provides a wonderful space to live in the moment and be close to the earth, ocean and elements. Ojos del Mundo is a breathtaking place for reflection, healing, artistic creativity, and healthy living...or just to get away from it all and relax. It is unlike any off the grid experience you have had before. You are in true seclusion from everyone. Run around naked, eat the fruits off the trees, reconnect with nature.

You rent the entire property. The price is set for 2 people renting the whole property. 4 people is a more ideal number as there is a wonderful eco tent with a bathroom, the cost for this is $25 more per person, after 2 people. Please be clear that the tent will not be rented out unless you add people to your party. Kids 9 and under are free.

Our home is an 18'x20' living space with a bathroom and outdoor shower. This cabin has a full kitchen and queen-sized bed. The detached Eco Tent has a queen bed, toilet, sink and an outdoor shower. A detached deck on top of the hill is a wonderful sunset watching or hammock spot. This property is spectacular a private beach 500 feet away through gorgeous gardens. LIGHTS: We have a small solar system. This provides enough power for lights, charging of cell phones and cameras, etc. (hair dryers or any thing of the sort will blow out the system). Trip of a lifetime!

  • 5 of 5

How do you describe waking up in paradise? It's embarrassing to admit how long it's been since my husband and I lived "off grid". Other than camping a few times over the years, it's been a while. No cell phone, TV or computer to distract you, there's nothing like this little piece of heaven. You completely unwind, and let go. The people, the smells, the music, the sounds of the monkeys and birds every morning will forever stay embedded in my mind as I remember our time at Wiley's. Clay was the perfect host - picking us up and taking us back; taking us shopping for supplies, snorkeling in the afternoon, with FRESH lobsters no less, to take home that night. Benito - always smiling, and forever there w/ fresh fruits and vegetables from the gardens. We hope to go back, soon, to live in the experience again; hopefully this time, for a while. It seems you just begin to "de-stress" when it's time to go back. Six days is not long enough to completely remember getting back to the basics of living, loving every minute of it, and remembering what really matters. I would recommend this experience to everyone wanting to find themselves again, and remember the important things in life. We will be back - Gary & Sandy Buckner (June 13 - 19, 2017)

Paradise

  • 5 of 5

This property is quite more than it is written, photographed or verbally stated. The sounds, smells, breezes, pounding surf, true jungle and Caribbean blue can not be fully stated in words. Our trip was far too short at 7 days to feel the true rhythm that awaits on the north side of this island or throughout the archipelago. Benito, the land caretaker, is a sweet, calm, curious and helpful human being that wishes you to enjoy the fruits and vegetables of his labor. Clay and Allene the property managers are attentive to your every need and eager for you to experience their ecosystem that is truly a paradise.

We shall return, Stacie and Christopher Burdette

Great place in Panama!

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful property in Panama. Secluded and private, yet we felt totally safe. The grounds are extremely well maintained by the gardener, Benito, who was also was very friendly and willing to show us around. He also gathered us fresh fruit and opened several coconuts for us. The real gem of the property is the manager, Clay. He was so inviting and knowledgeable of the area. He pointed out several native animals and was extremely helpful in getting us settled in. Had a great boat trip with him as he guided us around the other islands and kept us entertained with stories of the area. The beach was beautiful for the first two days, then the surf kicked up, washed all the sand away, and made swimming dangerous. No worries though, still able to hang out near the water and Clay, who is an avid surfer, told us fascinating surf stories. Too bad we were to chicken to try surfing! However, we would recommend him as an instructor to those interested in learning. Thought about heading to the beach at Bocas del Drago or near the river, but enjoyed watching the wildlife so much we didn't want to leave the property except for supplies. Great 10 days on the island! Would love to return! Aaron & Lissa, USA

There is no beach as promised

  • 1 of 5

I was told that there was a private beach. I rented because of my little daughters. But there is no such beach. So we didn't stay there. And I did not get any response from the owner.

And she kept with my money.

Awful...

Owner's Response: I refunded these folks in full (homeaway said I didn't need to pay a dime, yet I paid them in full- mostly for karma and having them stop cyber bullying me on facebook). These folks didn't know what they were getting in for. Please be sure to read all the information about our home. They clearly did not want a secluded home in the jungle, they seemed to use the beach as an excuse. As we write out on our information, the beach comes and goes. Also, there are periods of time where you can not swim on our beach (much like all beaches in the world) the waves get too big and the sands shift. There are steps down and you can still access an area under the palm trees and near the steps to enjoy watching the waves. Luckily, our property manager (who had a bit of a challenge with these folks) has many options to give people other places to go to swim and things to do when the weather is not permitting swimming or kayaking from our home. I am going to look at this rough review as an opportunity for clarity for everyone to come: This is a unique jungle getaway, unlike anything you have experienced. If that is what you would like, then read all the other reviews and be in touch to get clarity and ask questions. If that is not for you, then we please ask that you find another location. Thank you. Wiley

A wonderful surprise!

  • 5 of 5

We arrived in Bocas del Toro of an evening and woke up to such a beautiful sunrise and gorgeous gardens! A BIG thank you to Clay and Allene for the hospitality, knowledge and friendship. We enjoyed the time we spent with you! Benito was a pleasure and always willing to share his knowledge as well - even though we had a language barrier! The beautiful haven in the rain forest was all it said and more! Again, thanks!

Great place to stay away from town

  • 5 of 5

We began our trip to the Bocas del Toro area with 4 nights at this beautiful spot. Certainly not luxury, but if you like to be out in nature and enjoy solitude, this place is great. The large lot is kept up nicely by Benito, the local Ngöbe who takes care of the place and is there daily. He kept us supplied with fruits from the various trees around the area. Really nice view, lots of wildlife around, you're basically out in the jungle and away from crazy Bocas town. About a one hour walk to Bocas del Drago, which has a couple of restaurants and a pretty nice beach. Water taxis depart from there to Playa Estrella, which is worth a visit but beware of partiers. You will be in the capable hands of Clay, who lives on the next property over and provides assistance to all visitors. He's able to provide transportation, knows all about the flora and fauna of the area, has some pretty cool dogs and might play you a tune or two if he's in a musical mood. We very much enjoyed our stay and would come back.

The marker on the map is off. Our property is a 45 min drive north of the town of Bocas del Toro on the Isla Colon. The drive is through the beautiful jungle passing occasional local indigenous towns. The drive itself is like a jungle tour. The north side of the island is a gem in this spectacular archipelago. We are exposed to the open Caribbean with the stunning Bird Island in the view. Activities include relaxing, sea kayaking, bird watching, jungle hiking, surfing, swimming, eating fresh fruits off the property. It is a refreshing escape from town that can get hot and buggy. We seem to constantly have a breeze and are relieved to return to this part of the island after visiting town.
