We wanted to purchase a special place here in Truckee for our family and then we found Juniper Lodge! Juniper Lodge is nestled on 80 acres and was in need of lots of TLC! Juniper Lodge, is an authentic log home built in the 80's and has been extensively updated with many modern upgrades. Our family spends Christmas here every year and it is a very special and magical place! Many guest that have stayed in our home, say the pictures do not do the place justice! A place for everyone to enjoy!
Everything was great, especially the owners. They helped us with everything we needed.
We had a great time during our stay. Ten of us got together to celebrate seven of us turning 50. The house was a great space for all of us to play games, watch movies and prepare and eat dinner together. We had only wished that since none of us had children that the two bunk bed rooms would have had queen beds. The views from all areas of the house were absolutely breathtaking. It's been almost four months now since we traveled to Juniper House and we are still talking about how much we enjoyed our time there.
We enjoyed a wonderful week at this house with our three sons, their wives and our seven grandchildren, ranging in age from 4-13. The house is very spacious and each couple had a large bedroom and private bath. The kids loved the bunk rooms. Out in front was a wonderful play structure that they all enjoyed. And in the back yard was a hot tub, and a gas fire pit that we used for roasting marshmallows! There is a bonus room downstairs where the older kids played pool, and the younger ones played with Thomas the trains on the train table. Something for everyone. Adults enjoyed the outside deck. Upside is that it is in a remote area, so you gaze at pine trees galore. Downside is that it is about a 15 minute drive to Truckee.
We absolutely loved staying at the Juniper Lodge! It is huge! It says 6,000 sq ft, but it is actually 7,100 sq ft and so spacious! We loved that it has everything you could possibly need right there! Had never been to Donner Lake because we always go to Lake Tahoe. This lake is an absolute gem! We have decided that it is much better than the Tahoe beaches, less crowded and more to do there! Great for kids! Loved our stay!!
Large beautiful home for big groups or multiple families. Perfect set up for our golf group. The house had enough beds to sleep 8 guys comfortably. Spacious deck overlooking the forest was a great retreat for sunrises and sunsets. Relaxing fire pit and hot tub was an added bonus at night. Plenty of parking. Reasonable distances to many great golf courses and within 15 minutes to Downtown Truckee's many restaurants.
