Grand Cayman Townhome Rental Photos and Description

2 Bedroom Townhome - Sleeps 4-7 w/ sofa bed, 2.5 bath, loaded w/ FREE amenities

Imagine a retreat where you can enjoy a relaxing vacation in a luxurious setting…Cloud Nine…

Cloud Nine has a full unobstructed view of the Rum Point Beach Club. Our highly coveted location is superior to the locations of most other Island House units that face an overflow parking lot and the road. Guest reviews that rave about our location include, 'THE LOCATION: Perfect! this condo is situated perfectly. Step outside the front door, walk across the road (maybe 1 - 2 cars per day) and there you are at Rum Point Beach Club,' and 'The beach in the pictures is only about a 30 yard walk out the front door.”

Our 1,834 square foot townhome in Rum Point has been designed to treat you to a comfortable and memorable visit. Upon entering our townhome, you will be enveloped by superior accommodations. The townhome was renovated from top to bottom during the summer of 2012. It has been furnished with contemporary furniture and accessories to reflect the chic Caribbean style of Grand Cayman. You will also enjoy 2-car front door parking, free high speed WIFI, a stereo system, premium cable and DVD players on 4 HD televisions sets (including both bedrooms with 30+ DVD's), a Wii game system with games and the use of 2 double, 2 single kayaks, a paddle board, and 5 bicycles (4 adult and 1 child).

“Cloud Nine” is a two story townhome with living space on the first floor and sleeping quarters with en-suite bathrooms on the second floor. The downstairs boasts an open concept living space which includes the living and dining areas, a fully stocked kitchen and game room. There is a conveniently located two piece powder room on the first floor. The laundry room/pantry is conveniently located adjacent to the kitchen. Our well equipped kitchen provides a great space for cooking and entertainment as it faces the open concept living area. The dining area is located in the center of the open space next to the kitchen. The living area offers plenty of seating with a full length sofa and love seat, a 39 inch HDTV with premium HD cable box, DVD player, movies, stereo with ipod/CD player and radio, soft lighting and accent wall with original art work. The game room offers a love seat/sofa bed, board games, movies, 32 inch HDTV with premium HD cable box, DVD player and a Wii system with games.

The spacious lanai is right outside the foldable sliding glass doors adjoining the interior and exterior living spaces. You will find a vibrant outdoor dining and living area within the screened-in lanai surrounded by nature. The lanai faces the pool, dock and bioluminescent bay. The lanai provides an excellent spot to relax in the conversational lounge area, breathe in the fresh air, feel the cool breeze and watch the Caymanian parrots and other tropical birds fly by. Guests who wish to spend more time in the outdoors can enjoy their coffee and meals at the dining table in the lanai. Just a few steps out the back door, you will have access to the pool and our outdoor grill.

There are two bedrooms, each with its own separate en-suite bathroom on the second floor. You will find the bedroom amenities superior to other accommodations. The master bedroom boasts a king sized bed and the second bedroom a queen sized bed and matching twin bed. Each bedroom has room darkening draperies, HDTV with premium HD cable box, DVD player, alarm clock/radio with several soothing sound options such as flowing water, waves, forest sounds, birds chirping and more, modern solid wood furniture, calming color palettes and ocean themed paintings and prints, comfortable new bedding, new lighting system and lamps, remote control adjustable speed fan and separately zoned A/C temperature settings in each bedroom. The bathrooms have new shower and faucet fixtures, high efficiency toilets, and are finely decorated and well appointed. Each bedroom has its own exterior balcony within the screened-in lanai. The balconies face the pool, dock and bay from the perched second floor. Each balcony offers a private sitting area for you to relax.

You will have access to two double and two single kayaks to tour the calm bay at your own pace. You will enjoy a fabulous nocturnal spectacle only seen in 11 other bioluminescent bays around the world. When the lights go down, the micro-organisms in the bioluminescent bay put on a fabulous show as visitors tour the bay. As you paddle through the water, the micro-organisms illuminate leaving a shiny silvery streak of water. Your paddle will take the form of a lightsaber as you slice through the night waters. The dock is open for fishing any time of day or night in the calm bay waters.

A few steps out your front door will find you at the renowned Rum Point Beach, the most picturesque beach in Grand Cayman. The shallow and clear waters and pink/white sand of Rum Point Beach make it ideal for swimming and offers some of the finest snorkeling in the Caribbean. Rum Point is located in a protected marine park, so grab your snorkeling gear and take in the vibrant views and abundant sea life along the reef just offshore. Adults and children alike will enjoy relaxing and playing in the clear, turquoise, shallow waters. Also at Rum Point, you will find the Red Sail Sports activity center, where you can book Sting Ray City trips as well as other excursions. A host of beach toys are available for rent, including jet skis, catamaran sailboat, banana boat, snorkeling gear and more. The Wreck Bar and Rum Point Restaurant provide some of the best food and drinks on the island including the famous Mudslide, Cuban sandwich, jerk pork plate, local dishes and fine dining in the evenings. Rum Point Beach offers changing rooms, showers, hammocks, a volleyball net, picnic tables and plenty of shade under a canopy of magnificent Casuarina trees and coconut palms.

All these attributes make Cloud Nine the perfect place for your next vacation!

About Adela Parlette

My husband and I have been married for 19 years. We have 2 boys, ages 11 and 15. We live in Houston, Texas. We enjoy getting away to our townhome at Rum Point as frequently as we can. Our kids enjoy telling their friends that in Grand Cayman their back yard is a bioluminescent bay and their front yard is a beach! We enjoy having friends and family visit so that we can show off our home away from home. We would love to share our island home with you while we are back in Houston, putting in time in the 'real world.'

Adela Parlette purchased this townhome in 2012

Why Adela Parlette chose Grand Cayman

My husband and I had talked about buying a property in the Caribbean since our honeymoon. Everytime we would go on vacation to an island, that conversation would come back up. But, we never pulled the trigger. Back in July of 2007, my in-laws watched the kids for a week while my husband and I went on our first vacation by ourselves since the kids were born. We went to Grand Cayman and stayed on 7 Mile Beach. The beaches were stunning and the island was absolutely paradise. Beatiful views...warm water...laid-back island atmosphere.

Around the middle of the week, we decided to rent a car and drive over to Rum Point, which we had read about online. Now, I grew up in the Caribbean and we have traveled pretty extensively to various island destinations. I have seen my share of stunningly beautiful beaches. But, let me tell you...when we got out of the car and walked around the corner of the gift shop and saw the beach at Rum Point, we were absolutely awestruck by the beauty. We had a drink at the Wreck Bar and decided to walk out to the water. The water was perfectly calm and clear as a looking glass. We were able to walk out a couple hundred feet from the shore and the water was only waist high! We began to talk about how this would be such a perfect place to come with the kids. Shallow, calm water. Nice quiet, family atmosphere. To say the least, we fell in love with Rum Point and purchased a one bedroom condominium back in 2007.

Five years later, with a teenager in the family we have outgrown the one bedroom, but not the beauty of Rum Point. In summer of 2012 we found the perfect 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath townhome we call 'Cloud Nine.'

What makes this townhome unique

Cloud Nine offers the best of both worlds...the picturesque Rum Point Beach out your front door and a rare bioluminescent bay out your back door that you can explore on our kayaks. All the while you will find yourself in a warm, luxurious setting from which to enjoy a tropical paradise. Cloud Nine has a full unobstructed view of the Rum Point Beach Club. Our highly coveted location is superior to the locations of the other Island House units that face an overflow parking lot and the road. The Rum Point beach and waters are part of a government protected marine park with lots of colorful coral and abundant sea life. Right out your front door is the Rum Point Club and Red Sail Sports dive shop and activity center. While far from a wild and crazy place, the Red Sail facilities offer plenty of activity. They have a great bar and grill (excellent drinks and friendly service), a fabulous formal restaurant and a beach rental and excursion center. Right there you can rent jet skis, sail boats, banana boat, snorkling gear and more, plus book your Sting Ray City and scuba diving excursions. Most of the excursions leave right from the dock on the property. It is also a great place for the kids to find some playmates to explore the beach with! There are lots of other great restaurants nearby if you want to branch out a little. You are also about a 15 minute drive from the stunningly beautiful the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park and the Mastic Trail nature hike.

Perfect for a family vacation and great location! There was enough room for 7 people without feeling crowded. It was so nice to be able to walk across the very quite street with our 2 young boys and enjoy Rum Point and then right out the back door to the bio bay! Adela was wonderful and kept in close contact leading up to and during our stay. I highly reccomend Cloud Nine and would definately stay there again.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your wonderful review. I can only imagine how much fun you had with your boys. Rum Point is a paradise for boys! I have two boys and they run around freely, play soccer with other kids, snorkel in the calm waters and get to explore in a very tranquil environment. There are so many hands- on activities for them too. I hope the entire family made unforgettable memories. We hope you can plan your next trip with us! Best regards, Adela

Cloud Nine was heaven for our family

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I took our three children (10,8,6) for a family vacation and we hit the jackpot choosing Cloud Nine. The house is spacious, clean, has everything one would need to relax. The location is key. The house backs up to a very cool bioluminescent bay and there are kayaks for your family to use. This was something we had never seen before. Walk out the front door and cross the street to get to the most gorgeous beach. In fact, Rum Point is really the best part of the island. It is quiet, safe, and your family will be surrounded by natural beauty. There is none of the congestion you will find near 7 mile beach. We ate Kaibo (on the beach), the Rum Point Club, and Over the Edge. All were great fun for us the and kids. We visited Starfish Point, the Turtle Farm, and of course our children made many "beach friends" at Rum Point Beach allowing us time to relax on the lounge chairs. The snorkeling at Rum Point was also really fun for all of us. We did that every day. It was nice just waking up to the sound of the palm trees rustling outside the window and having peaceful coffee on the screened-in lanai. The owner of Rum Point is lovely and genuinely interested in ensuring your stay is amazing. She will give you an incredibly detailed packet of information on how to a navigate the island, where to get a car, where to shop if necessary, where to eat, and she has list (with reviews) of the attractions your family might enjoy. It was better than any guidebook. We were incredibly sad to leave. The happy family time we spent there is now a precious memory we will have forever. We hope to return soon!

Owner's Response: Hi Laura, Thank you so much for your wonderful review. I knew you and your family would have the perfect vacation in Cloud Nine at Rum Point. There is so much to do and you really maximized your five days with excursions and beach fun! I am so glad that you filled your days and nights with every enjoyment that Rum Point has to offer. You hit the right restaurants: Rum Point Restaurant, Kaibo's and Over the Edge in Cayman Kai and Northside. Starfish Point is breathtaking at any time of the day but particularly at sunset. Speaking of sunsets, I bet you loved when the sky turned orange and gave out that beautiful golden color that glimmered on you. I am very happy that your children made many new beach friends and built many castles and intricate tunnels right in front of you. I love to hear them talk and watch them get consumed by their unfettered creations. However, I think you all need to come back to experience Sting Ray City and the Crystal Caves in our side of the island. And of course, play at beach, jump off the pier, go snorkeling, kayaking and paddle boarding! I hope all your vacations continue to be more precious than gold! Best wishes, Adela

Island Perfection

  • 5 of 5

I spend ten heavenly days at cloud nine with my husband, three year old daughter, fifteen year old nephew and twenty two year old sister. We all have different interests, but there was no shortage on amazing things to do! We had an AMAZING trip which made it so hard to pack up to go home! We did tons of snorkeling. I was so impressed with how much wildlife you could see so easily and so close to shore! :) Some of my family also went fishing and went through Captain Ebanks. They were really happy with the guides and caught tuna and barracuda. They said it was a great time and that the guides were really helpful. We went to starfish point an found lots of starfish… and we had fun looking at all of the crabs, ching chings and lizards, too. We also went to the turtle farm (we did the $18 tour), the botanical garden, Stingray City, Mastic Trail and visited Hell. We went to quite a few random public beaches and were shocked to have such gorgeous beaches all to ourselves. We found the blowholes and walked along the iron shore for a bit. We kayaked in the bay at night and were awestruck by the lights. We did lots of paddle boarding and kayaking, and did some fishing on our own (with much less success than the guided trip). Of course, we also lounged around lazily at Rum Point. :D

We snorkeled the shipwreck of the Geneva Kathleen on the East End. That was definitely one of my favorite snorkeling trips because it was so interesting to see the shipwreck and all of the fish around it AND we were surrounded by iron shore cliffs. We also spent a day at Morritt's in the East End doing some snorkeling. There are some large tarpon that live under the dock at Mimi’s bar and grill, and the kids enjoyed seeing them. There was also some really impressive snorkeling directly in front of Morritt’s. At the end of the day, we all enjoyed a mudslide from Mimi’s (virgin ones for the kiddos).

Cloud Nine was the perfect home base for us. It was nicely furnished and had everything we could have needed in a vacation home and more! It was really convenient to have the kayaks, paddleboard and bikes available to us during our trip. Adela and Barbara were available to answer any questions. Highly recommend Cloud Nine to anyone wanting a family adventure on Grand Cayman!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your wonderful review. When I am back on the island, I will explore the Geneva Kathleen snorkeling site. You were so wonderful to work with. All the preparation you did ahead of your trip definitely worked out. You had a great itinerary of activities. Believe it or not, there are more things to do and see. If you get another chance to come back, you will enjoy Old Man Bay, Smith's Cove, Spott's Beach, Cemetery Beach, and sister islands. I hope to assist you with future travel plans. Thanks, Adela Parlette

Everything and More

  • 5 of 5

The condo was as advertised and more. There was plenty of room for our family of 5 with everything you need to feel like you are living at home. The pictures do not do the condo enough justice as it is much bigger than it looks. The location cannot be beat! Right across from Rum Point beach and the Wreck bar and grill. Adela was fantastic with the directions to the condo, things to do, places to go, restaurants to try and is very quick to respond to any inquiries.

Rum point beach is a great place to relax and unwind. Definitely not as busy as Seven Mile and at least to me, felt very safe. The Wreck Bar and Grill serves good food and even better drinks. Just wish they were open in the evenings. Grill closes at 5pm and bar at 6pm. The snorkeling at Rum Point is good, but for better snorkeling you need to head NW from the pier about 200 yards where you will see a red and a white buoy. We also went to Barrier Reef (recommended by Adela) and it was fantastic! About a 10 minute drive from the condo heading east. Definitely worth checking out if you like to snorkel. In addition to the Wreck bar, we went to Kaibo bbq on Tuesday night which had good food and great entertainment. For our wedding anniversary, my wife and went to Kaibo upstairs which was fantastic and I highly recommend if you are looking for something a little more upscale for a change of pace. Our first night on Grand Cayman we went to the Calypso Grill which is NE of Georgetown. The restaurant lived up to the great reviews we had read and is worth the drive (about 75 minutes) from the condo. We also went to Over the Edge restaurant on several occasions. About 5 minutes east of the condo with the food being good and at reasonable prices for Grand Cayman. Additionally, we went to Chesters which wasn't that great, but it could have been bad timing (mid afternoon) and Kurtz Corner which was pretty good. We visited Turtle Farm. Very cool to see, hold and swim with the turtles but it felt like it was a mini Sea World. Lastly we did an afternoon excursion with Nicks Private Charters and were fantastic.

Some tips: 1) Rent a car, really no other option for getting around. 2) Visit Sting Ray City on a Sunday, no cruise ships (at least that is what we were told by our guides that took us). 3)Take Adela's advice and get some groceries when you first leave the airport. 4) Bring mosquito spray! Some in the condo, but you can't have enough. Take it with you to restaurants when you will be sitting outside

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for sharing your experiences with us and our prospective guests. I knew you would be busy with your three children enjoying the beautiful Caribbean Sea and sea creatures. There is so much to do! I am glad you went to Kaibo's for the bbq night. It is our favorite party on the island! We hope you and your family come back soon for more fun times in the sand! Best regards, Adela

Awesome, Amazing, Beautiful, Perfect

My sisters and I came to Island House 9 to celebrate a milestone birthday. We had the most amazing time. Island House 9 is appropriately labeled Cloud 9, it was a dream come true. I am already trying to figure out dates to come back. The condo was clean, well stocked and just plan perfect. With Rum Point Beach right across the road, I cannot think of anything better.
