The Turtle House is a 100+ year old recently completely renovated “Conch” house. The house can be described as having “an open, crisp, private space”. The house has two (2) gabled ceilings, which creates a contemporary, spacious living environment. The downstairs floor is Golden Oak Pergo. All window, door, and floor trim is turn of the century style, and all windows are 6/6 double-hung sash.
The house has a secured Wi-Fi network, ADT Security System (24 hour cental monitoring), CCTV, a Sony 32' flat screen HDTV, and two (2) Samsung 26' flat screen HDTVs. The house has central air conditioning, a ceiling fan, and access to a stacked washer and dryer. There is a stainless steel propane barbecue located on the pool deck.
The house can comfortably accommodate a maximum of five (5) guests - who are comfortable sharing an open living environment.
The kitchen, dining, living, and bathroom are located on the first floor. An architectural beam containing halogen lighting extends the entire length of the house. The bathroom, located off the living room, is completely new and has recessed L.E.D. lighting, a full shower, and a pedestal sink. There are two (2) sets of French doors providing access to the rear courtyard where the 8'x10' heated Jacuzzi is located.
The contemporary galley kitchen is new with maple cabinets, black Zimbabwe granite counter tops, stainless steel single compartment sink, and the ceiling has recessed L.E.D. lighting. Kitchen equipment includes an under the counter Sub-Zero refrigerator, an under the counter Sub-Zero freezer with ice maker, a stainless steel gas range, garbage disposal, Quasar microwave, and Braun coffee maker, Krupps toaster, dishes, flatware, glasses (service for 6), pots, pans, and basic cooking utensils.
The dining room has a glass dining room table with seating for four (4), and a maple with black Zimbabwe granite service credenza - complete with wine rack.
The living room has two (2) queen size sleeper sofas, a relaxing chair, a Sony 32' flat screen HDTV, DVR, a Sony DVD/CD player, DVR, and an Onkyo receiver.
A stair case is used to access the master loft sleeping area. The loft has a queen size bed and a Samsung 26' flat screen HDTV.
A staircase is used to access the guest loft sleeping area. The loft has a full size bed and a Samsung 26' flat screen HDTV.
All linens and towels are furnished.
The gated compound is within easy walking or biking distance to everything in Old Town Key West, located at the corner of Thomas and Angela Streets - two (2) blocks from the center of Duval Street. In addition to being within easy walking and biking distance to Duval Street, and the best entertainment & dining on the island, the vacation property is located two (2) blocks from Fort Zachary Taylor State Park, the best beach and picnic area in Key West.
The five (5) house compound is private and secure with a 10' x 30' heated main pool including a 5’x 10’ heated Jacuzzi. In addition, there is a private 8' x 10' heated Jacuzzi. There are brick walkways, and a 10' x 40' sun deck, including a stainless steel propane barbecue, chaise lounges for sunbathing and relaxing; and tables and chairs for dining. The design of the property lends itself perfectly to small gatherings of friends and family.
The landscaping is lush including various palms, Poinciana, Spanish limes, avocado, bananas, hibiscus, bougainvillea, haliconias, bromeliads, and orchids, brick walkways.

CHICKENS & ROOSTERS
The City of Key West protects chickens and roosters, and considers them as part of the history and charm of Key West. As a result, Key West and many of the islands throughout the Florida Keys have free-range chickens and roosters. You will definitely see and hear chickens and roosters during your stay in Key West. Some visitors to Key West love them, and some visitors hate them - personally, I enjoy them best roasted, with plantains, and black beans and rice!
We do require that all family members, friends, and/or guests of the lessee staying on the property register with the lessor/ lessor’s agent.
The house will be inspected at the time the lessee receives the keys from the lessor/ lessor’s agent, and when the keys are returned to the lessor/ lessor’s agent. The lessee will not be responsible for the house when the keys are in the possession of the lessor/ lessor’s agent.

The neighborhood is alive, dynamic, and surrounded by Key West History - unquestionably the most intact Old Town Key West neighborhood on the island. There are excellent restaurants within walking distance, and Duval Street is only two blocks from the property - close enough, yet far enough away! Ft. Zachary Taylor, located only two blocks to the west of the property, is a National Historic Park and boasts the nicest beach with the best sunsets on the island.

Please contact us for current pricing - we do not maintain calendars. 50% of rental amount (plus tax) is due when the rental agreement is signed. 50% of rental amount (plus tax) is due thirty (30) days prior to the beginning of the rental term. Refundable security deposit is due thirty (30) days prior to the beginning of the rental term. THE CITY OF KEY WEST RENTAL SITUATION The City of Key West requires that I rent the house to you for a rental term of thirty (30) days or longer, during which time only the tenant, his/her family, friends, and/or guests, have sole and exclusive use of the house. You are not required by law to remain in the house for the entire rental term. According to my attorney and the City attorney, if I rent the house to you, and you, your guests and/or friends only occupy the house for (example) fifteen (15) days, the house must remain empty for the rest of the rental term - and no one else is allowed to use the (my) house - including me!
