About John Ingersoll

Born and raised and educated in western PA . John's father, a blue collar steel worker, and his mother, an elementary school teacher, stressed hard work, organization and outdoor play. Why John Ingersoll chose Government Camp

I like to snowboard year round. Government Camp is an awesome one of a kind walking village, and a great location for winter recreation without the long drive. The surrounding Oregon Cascades are incredible.

What makes this lodge unique

Close to downtown life in the village of Government Camp, all Mt Hood ski areas and cross country facilities. Good on site parking, kids can sled close to the lodge. Two Hot Tubs: one on each of the top floor decks!

Perfect place for our retreat for 30 people

  • 5 of 5

The home was a perfect set up for us. The first floor was used as our main kitchen and social area. We had a group of 30 singles meet up for a weekend away. The second and third floor or perfectly set up for our group. Thank you for letting us stay!

Wonderful Stay !

  • 5 of 5

Great property located right in the town of Government Camp. Walking distance to market, museum, and restaurants. The layout was perfect for our party of 17. Plenty of space to gather or enjoy your privacy. Well maintained, stocked and clean. Would definitely recommend for group gatherings.

Fit the bill

  • 5 of 5

We had family and friends stay at Boardwalk Lodge for a wedding held at Timberline Lodge. More than enough room, two hot tubs, were able to open the garage and have a BBQ with a long table in the garage for the food and seating outside in the sun. The only thing to remember when booking the Boardwalk are: lots of stairs. We had no problems, but it's something I know people may be concerned about. Other than that, it was great and the Owner, John, was very accommodating! Thank you.

Family reunion success!

  • 4 of 5

Boardwalk Lodge was a great fit for our 40-person family reunion this summer. There was plenty of room for our crew to spread out in, plus it's close to outdoor recreation options. We had a great time!

Comfortable beds, hot hot tubs!

  • 5 of 5

I've known the owner for a long time and he loves to make people feel comfortable. As I wrote in the header, the beds and comforters are very comfortable. New flat screen tvs, fast internet, and great hot tubs . . . especially in the middle of a fantastic snow storm. In the morning, we just walked one block to Huck's for breakfast so it's close to everything but you aren't dealing with the noise of the bars late at night. And note that the water in Government Camp is spring fed . . . some of the best water in the country and isn't required to be chlorinated. Anyway, the owner is a friend, but I asked him how to provide this review because I was actually impressed with the experience. Enjoy!
