About Jennifer Gray
We’re organic gardeners, naturalists and music lovers. Our lovely hundred year-old Main House, Cedar Studio and passive-solar Cottage, are retreats/rentals for anyone looking for a place to rest, discover, create or just be. Our 10 acre country farm is located at Poché Bridge, just north of Breaux Bridge and just right outside Lafayette.
Jennifer Gray purchased this Farmhouse in 1982
Why Jennifer Gray chose Breaux Bridge
The Main House at Bonne Terre was built in New Iberia, Louisiana around 1914 and still carries in it the quiet of that earlier time. Pine and cypress throughout, with eleven foot ceilings, it made the slow, thirty-two mile journey from New Iberia to Poche Bridge in 1998 when it was just over 90 years old. When you set your suitcase down at Bonne Terre, it feels like home – without the distractions. Here is a place to breathe; to slow down; to nourish your roots. We love south Louisiana and think you will love it too! NO Events (Weddings, Showers, Parties) NO Exceptions.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
Bonne Terre is in Poché Bridge, 10 minutes from Breaux Bridge and just outside Lafayette. We’re a tranquil space in the center of south Louisiana’s vibrant cultures and breathtaking natural environment. Our incredible cuisine, amazing local music and one-of-a-kind attractions make our home a very special corner of the universe. Bonne Terre Cottage contributes to a healthier planet by utilizing green household products such as energy efficient light bulbs, a programmable thermostat, an Energy Star-rated central AC/Heat pump, ceiling fans, energy-efficient windows and eco-friendly cleaning products and laundry detergent. We cultivate an organic garden, tend a small orchard and a flock of free range chickens. Our 10-acre homestead, which includes a two-acre woodlot, is a National Wildlife Federation certified wildlife habitat. We provide our guests with, recycling bins, a kitchen compost pail for organic waste, 100% cotton linens, natural soaps and sprays created by local artisans, Organic and Fair Trade Certified food products, cloth napkins and non-disposable dishes, access to books, music and DVDs by Louisiana artists and a non-smoking environment.

"Home away from Home"
This is the ONLY place I will ever stay
..... ever ! Can't say enough good things about Jennifer and her gracious , humble and beautiful home ! Thank you Jennifer
Located on the country with “country sounds” all around. The main house is spacious and comfortable. Outstanding vinyl record collection with a turntable to enjoy them! Jennifer is very nice and very accommodating. Her concern for our enjoyment was refreshing. We highly recommend Jennifer and Bonne Terre.
Thanks so much for taking the time to write such a lovely review. It was a pleasure to have y’all here & I’m so happy that you enjoyed your stay at the farm! I also want to thank you for the love & respect you showed to my Bonne Terre Main House! Come back any time.
Property was perfect; spacious, elegant, well equipped, and interestingly decorated
If you value nature and down to earth living, semi seclusion and peaceful surroundings, this is absolute perfection. An historic type of architecture indicative of Acadiana has been moved to this small farm for the pleasure of visitors. It has been fitted out generously with coffee, condiments, books on Acadiana history, music and culture. The sounds that surround the house were heard 200 years ago in this same area. It was my favorite visit of any I have made to this point. Centrally located, and close to route #10, which seems to be part of every destination, it is a scenic drive to New Iberia, St. Martinville, LaFayette, Sunset, Arnaudville, Broussard, Scott...Our hostess, Jennifer, was the personification of thoughtfulness, kindness, friendliness and helpfulness. We just loved her! You would have a very difficult time finding another place with all of these wonderful assets, and I'm not exaggerating in the least.
We're in the heart of Cajun and Creole country in Poché Bridge, very close to Breaux Bridge's Café des Amis, Poché's Market & Restaurant, antiques shops and annual Crawfish Festival. We're also very near Lafayette, Arnaudville, St. Martinville, New Iberia, the Atchafalaya Basin, Lake Martin, Lake Fausse Pointe, Avery Island, etc., and the area's many great restaurants, dancehalls, festivals, and natural and man-made tourist attractions. Baton Rouge airport (BTR) is one hour away; the New Orleans airport (MSY) is two hours away.
