Our Cottage is located on a beautiful stretch of Maine's mid-coast area. With views over looking Penobscot Bay and steps away from a private beach access. Enjoy the quiet beach, swim in the cove, kayak or canoe. Deep and shallow water moorings are available so you can bring your boat if you wish. We are part of a small, quiet community that was started around the same time as Bayside, a Victorian Village similar to Oaks Bluff on Martha's Vineyard. But our community is a lot quieter. Bayside is an easy walk where you can golf or hang out and swim from the pier. The house is conveniently located between the two towns of Belfast and Camden. Restaurants, golf course, yacht and sailing clubs are all within a half-mile from the property.
The cottage has four bedrooms, which can sleep 7 people and two and half bathrooms. The master bedroom has a queen bed and a private bath. One bedroom has a double bed, one 2 twins, and the third has one twin bed.
Spacious open floor plan featuring a sun room which includes a dining area and a sitting area with views of the bay, and gardens, a fully equipped kitchen, with stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops.
There are two other living spaces surrounding the kitchen area with TV, game or puzzle table and comfortable chairs for lounging and a wood stove to use if the evenings get a bit chilly.
There are two outdoor decks and a stone patio with a gas grill to enjoy the beautiful Maine summers. There is also a outdoor firepit is you wish to enjoy a bonfire in the evenings. The yard is landscaped with perennial gardens and a lot of space for kids and adults to enjoy outdoor fun. The yard is bounded by wooded areas on 2 sides .
A great house for a family or a group of friends with much space to spread out.
A great central location to many of the activities the area has offer. The area has a rich arts community and there are many options for nature lovers.
The bedrooms are comfortably appointed with nice linens and towels for your enjoyment.

Howard and I moved to this area because we enjoy sailing, the outdoors and the laid back community. The fact that Penobscot Bay is one of the top sailing areas of the world was a big draw for us. We have owned and operated a fine craft and art gallery in Camden for 22 years and we love catering to the people who are enjoying their vacation in Maine.
We enjoy traveling and use VRBO often ourselves so we know what it means to find a rental that you feel comfortable in and where all your wants and needs are available. We take pride in providing our renters with a fine cottage which we are sure you will enjoy.
The Owner purchased this cottage in 1980
The convenient location between Camden and Belfast offers the options of two very special but different coastal towns. The location also offers many options for day trips to various places in the mid-coast area. Including many of the islands in the Bay. While Bayside is quaint we chose the Birchcrest area of Northport because it is a bit more private and a bit quieter then the more popular area of Bayside.
It is a delight to watch the sun rise over the bay and hear the cry of the loons. Breakfast on the patio is one of our favorite summertime pleasures. If you are lucky you may even watch the moon rise over the bay.
The house is lovely. Well-equipped. Beautiful setting and fabulous garden. Easy access to shopping and touring. I would definitely recommend it to others.
Our family of 5 had just the best time vacationing in Maine and staying at this fantastic home. Plenty of space, great décor and amenities. Semi secluded and convenient to everything you would want to see or do. Great location!!!
We rented this home so that we could meet and play with new twin grandchildren, whose parents are building a home in nearby Jackson. What we couldn't have imagined was how great the house would be for a relaxing vacation. It's hard to know what was more appreciated, given our various interests and ages (from 27 to 68) -- the garden with so many flowers in bloom and its stone walls, the outdoor patio where we grilled fish, the beautiful and isolated bay (terrific for skipping stones), the proximity to Belfast (3 miles) and nearby coastal towns. In fact, what is so terrific about this home is that you don't have to choose--it has it all. We were able to comfortably host the twins and their proud parents, and made full use of the multiple comfortable living areas. We are already planning our next trip. The only caveat is that a car is a necessity, but apparently there is an easy rental agency in town.
The pictures do not do justice to this lovely, lovely vacation home that sits across the street from the bay and has water rights. It is spacious, beautifully decorated with original art, and very private. There are two beautiful outdoor spaces -- a deck off the dining room (with a 4-burner gas grill) and a patio that is set in the middle of an English-style cottage garden. The kitchen is fully equipped for making meals at home. Our family had an amazing time recharging from our city living, and the house's proximity to Acadia (1.5 hours north) and Camden Hills State Park (20 minutes south) made that very easy. Belfast, the nearest town, has not been overrun by tourism (although there are plenty of quaint shops to purchase Maine souvenirs and a Hannafords nearby for staples and groceries). As an added bonus, the house is not too far from mid-coast attractions (Camden, Rockport, Rockland). The owners made sure that they were available for any questions we may have had, but they were never intrusive. Two things: the master suite is open to a sitting room below (but still offers plenty of privacy) and broadband is limited, so if you're a family that needs to plug in, be prepared to use your cell services.
Thank you Howard and Margaret for sharing your beautiful home. Truly is a home away from home. The interior is very well decorated with comfortable seating areas. Enjoy the t.v. room watching a movie with your family or read a book in the sunroom if it;s a little quiet time your looking for. Plenty of space for a family to spread out. Inside and out. We enjoyed many nights in the garden patio near the fire pit making smores!!!We Enjoyed our morning coffee (French and Brawn in Camden) and pastries from Moon Bat bakery (Belfast) in the adirondack chairs watching the sunrise. WOW What a way to start your day!! Venture out to the Juice Cellar (Belfast)if you have a chance. Wonderful fresh made Juices and smoothies!!! We of course enjoyed our Young's Lobster's on the deck :) Can;t beat the view. Very quiet and peaceful area yet close to Belfast, Camden or a day trip to Acadia. Howard and Margaret do a wonderful job maintaining the property. From the cleanliness inside to the beautiful grounds and gardens out. We try to vacation every yr (for the past 8 yrs) and always choose Northport/ Belfast area for it's peacefulness and if it's shopping, good food or just a night cap out, there are many places to choose from in Town. Scrumptious dinner at the Lost Kitchen now located in Freedom, Me. Definately try Long Grain in Camden if you can get a seat. A reservation at both places is a real good idea.and as far in advance as you can. Incredible meals at both. With all around nice, salt of the earth locals who make you feel more then welcome. All of our past rentals were lovely but This home was by far our favorite. A Beautiful Maine home just awaiting your stay to make wonderful memories with your family. If it;s a classic Maine home, clean with all the comforts of home, comfortable beds, nice linens with stunning views, glorious gardens and lots of room inside and out for your family, this is the place!!!Thank you again Margaret and Howard. You a were a joy to work with. Looking forward to our next stay. The Ryan Family
This is truly a home away from home--warm and welcoming, spacious yet cozy with grounds and gardens to encourage play and relaxation. The area offers lots to do--culturally, physically and dining. There are many spots to launch a kayak and great hiking trails nearby. The home is far more spacious than the photos represent. The fresh herb garden is a real bonus and the owners are great about maintaining the grounds. Belfast is a cozy working harbor with friendly folks; for more shopping and dining options, Camden is a short ride south. The neighbors are great and incredibly helpful. Margaret and Howard were very responsive to our requests and needs and very respectful of our privacy. We spent 3 wonderful weeks here; we recommend Mid-Coast Maine and this home as a great vacation destination.
Easy day trip to Acadia National Park!
