This Castle is one of my Personal Residents, and by far my favorite. All the wood floors, cabinets, moldings, etc. were handmade and milled on sight, from wood taken from trees of this Forest!. With the four seasons the Forest is constantly ever changing its beauty. The Castle is secluded and private. It is my Place for peace and tranquility...
Wonderful place to Fish, Hike, Mushroom hunt, Rock Hunt, Star gaze, relax, BBQ out, or just be lazy. There is endless opportunities to entertain Yourself, Family, and Friends.
Thanks for letting us stay at The Castle, Mitch. It was a great place for a family reunion.
Our family just spent a long weekend at the castle celebrating my husband's birthday. There were 15 of us - my husband and myself, our four adult children and their spouses, a young married granddaughter and her husband and three teenage grandchildren. The castle is great for family vacations. There are plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms and lots of space to congregate along with quiet areas for reading or napping. We were there in February and the weather was warm enough that we were able to set out on the deck, walk around the grounds, play football and go fishing, enjoy the hammock and the rope swing. Everyone had a blast. It is also a great place for family photos (this year's Christmas card). The kitchen is amazing and so well stocked with dishes, pans and appliances. At each meal we had several people cooking together and had plenty of space without getting in each other's way. We loved the big dining room and the huge table is amazing. We took advantage of two of the fire places and had a warm, cozy fire in the evenings and cool part of the day. Thanks Mitch for having the chopped wood available. I think we took advantage of just about everything - the pool table, game room, observatory, outdoor grounds. I think the only thing not used was the sauna. Debbie was great to work with regarding our arrival time and showing us around.
The castle is definitely a place I would recommend and hope that our family is able to return. I would love to see the grounds in the spring and fall. It is a beautiful place. Thanks Mitch for building such a memorable estate.
This was our 2nd time having our family vacation here and we all loved it as much, if not more this time! You just can't believe how impressive every detail is and there are so many details! Everything you could hope for and then some! The place is always spotless and well stocked. Thanks Mitch for installing the fantastic hammock that I suggested after the last visit! My new suggestion would be for a rocking chair of some sort. We had a newborn this time and I missed being able to rock her. Other than that, I can't recommend this castle enough! Fun for absolutely every age. We requested that everyone leave their phones off and just unplug and spend time enjoying the castle, the grounds, the water and each other without any distractions, and no one minded...in fact, everyone loved it! Thanks again Mitch for sharing your amazing castle with us and thanks to Debbie for always going out of your way to make our time there fantastic!
Our family just spent four fabulous days at your castle. There were 20 of our family, the two of us, our four children with spouses, and 10 grandkids ages 2 to 15. Everyone had a great time. We spent the majority of our time in and on the lake. The pontoon was used a lot. All of our fishing members caught fish, most of the little ones for the first time. There wasn't any part of the features of the property we didn't take advantage of. The boys claimed the "secret room ". The girls stayed on the beach a lot. They all had fun catching the little frogs. The adults had fun with the kids and appreciated time to just kick back. We had beautiful weather and we were surprised that there were no mosquitoes. Thanks for providing a place for our family to be all together and memories to cherish forever!
We had a wonderful stay. As our Christmas gift every year we do a Family trip every summer. This was the first time at the castle. There were 13 of us ranging from age 7 weeks to 58. The four small children were busy between the beach, fishing, and many outside activities. The vacation fairy came every night which kept the children busy with puzzles and other crafts. A ninth wedding anniversary was celebrated at the castle and vows were renewed with the help of their children. The castle was big enough that the princess reader could go to her tower and read, the master chefs could cook and we all found our special place. The castle also gave us an excellent place to sit down with meals around one table and enjoy great stories! It was a great time had by all!
We had the most fun staying at the Castle. There were 19 of us ages 84 to 2. The place is huge and stocked with everything you'd need. The lake was lovely, we swam and fished everyday. I would highly recommend staying here.
The castle was a very cool experience for us. My son was married in the yard with the pond in the backround. A perfect setting. Kudos to Debbie, who was very helpful in every way and even attended my sons' wedding! There were several families who spent the night and there was plenty of room. All the kids slept in the game room. The kitchen was awesome, plenty of work space, and the compacter was a huge plus. The massage chair is a must to try out-it felt great. The hot tub was relaxing even tho it took a long time to fill. The beds were quite comfortable, there were plenty of bathrooms, and plenty of tvs. We all enjoyed the boat, fishing, and kayaking. It was cloudy, so we didn't get to see much but the observatory was awesome! We used the two grills a lot and made good use of the back porch for the wedding food. The tower was neat. All in all it was a great time in a great place and I regret that we couldn't stay longer. Definitely a must see!
