We are Indiana transplants who now love living on Marco Island. Our 27 year history on Marco of vacations and ownership of 6 properties led us to invest in this prime vacation condo. Being local, we know The Apollo to be an upscale, well maintained, secure, and popular destination for many returning guests. Our proximity also makes it possible for us to maintain and upgrade the condo for continual 'top-grade' experiences for our guests!
owner purchased this Condo in 2012
Why owner chose Marco Island
This desireable condo has it all! Top floor end unit with windows on 3 sides for East, South, and West exposures. Catch the views with sunrise over the Ten Thousand Islands and breathtaking sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico. We have completely redecorated the entire space, starting with new ceramic tile diagonal flooring. All new furniture, lighting & plumbing fixtures, appliances, window coverings, linens, and bedding with fresh paint make this 'show model' new! The 3 flat screen TV's on cable, 2 DVD players, and high speed wireless internet (secured) let you stay connected with the modern world if you choose. But, you might just decide to get into the laid back Marco mode with T-shirts, flip flops, and sunscreen. Coffee on the lanai as the beach and Gulf come alive in the morning, feet in the sand during the day (walk out private access), cocktails for the amazing sunsets. This is an easy place to be!
What makes this Condo unique
The Apollo is a favorite destination for many on Marco Island's fabulous Crescent Beach. At the South end of 3 miles of groomed white sand, it sits in a prime spot for beach goers, with a short walk for water sports rentals, volleyball, or Parasailing. A short walk down the streetside gets you to multiple restaurants, shopping, convenience store, spa/salons, movie theaters, and resort hotels. By car you can find all you'll need on the island, but a 30 minute drive South takes you into Everglades City for a Ten Thousand Islands experience. 25 minutes North is Naples with it's world class shopping, dining, and sightseeing. Marco's marinas offer many ways to enjoy the water, either offshore or backwater. The Apollo has air conditioned common areas, 7 days/week manager on duty, garage parking, and secured entry. The building and common areas are impeccably maintained. Large freshwater pool, hot spa, fitness room, sauna, and tennis courts are available for all guests. Apollo has it's own private beach access, so you're just steps away from the elevator. Sunset Grill is a lounge/restaurant located on the ground floor of Apollo. It offers great food and cold beer (full bar), indoors or outside. It's a busy place and a local favorite!

Not very happy
Was there two years in a row for the same week. First year at check in sheets and bedding were full of sand and dirty and dryer broken; second year upgrades done, place looks nice and clean and dryer problem never fixed from year before. Offered extra towels and quarters when owners knew for over a year dryer was broken and acted as if not. I mentioned to the owner in person my son has skin issues and I need to rinse his clothes and dry daily and no concerns. Sent email after check out about disappointment especially when we spent a lot of money for the week and the convenience to have a washer/dryer in our unit and no response or care. I love the building and have been staying there for over 8 years but this was very disappointing.
The electric dryer is less than 2 years old and works as expected for normal sized loads. The slow drying is due to a long & tortuous exhaust vent designed in the building's walls. When you called at 7:20 AM to complain of a slow dryer, we delivered a fresh set of 10 beach towels within an hour--and later that day returned the original linens, explaining another dryer which you could use is by the elevator on the same floor. You can't expect any residential dryer to handle a load of 8 beach towels and several plush bath towels in 1 load. We even gave you coins to use the 2nd dryer (with a shorter vent run). We're sorry you had a "very disappointing" experience, but so did we! I did not respond to your email accusing us of neglecting a broken dryer, as I felt a confrontation was not necessary. But since you filed this review, I'll explain our experience. Your return visit this year was reserved under a different name, and you reserved for "6 adults", our maximum occupancy. We know there were children present and suspect more than 6 total. Every extra sheet (8), pillow case (6), and blanket (4) were dirty and appeared to have been slept on the floor. We're missing a king size pillow and pillowcase, so the linen set and pillow were replaced. The new unused 10" frypan was ruined, also needing replaced. Housekeeping charged extra fees for cleaning. We hope you enjoyed the new bedspreads, sofas, dining furniture, window blinds, bath vanity, and new kitchen that was installed since your visit last year!
Fabulous location, accommodations adequate
You can’t beat the Apollo location. Stunning beach. The restaurant downstairs is handy to get a drink at the bar or dinner if you don’t feel like going out. It’s a pain though to have to go outside to get there. There are many good restaurants a short drive away. The key situation at the Apollo is awful. You get 2 keys per room so if you have more than 2 people and everybody wants to go off and do something different it’s a real pain to get back in. You have to coordinate who will be where when. Vacation should not require that much effort. When leaving there was no one at the desk to validate the parking and we had to drive up to the box and call for help. This was on a Saturday morning at 9:30. I think the management of the building is really poor, generally. The unit we had was adequate. Plenty of towels, beach chairs, kitchen items, etc. The only issue was the living room furniture. It was not really comfortable to sit around on. And it was fabric that had quite a number of stains. It needs a good steam cleaning. A better choice would be something that could be wiped off. The owner was extremely helpful answering all my questions before we arrived. Overall I think we might give Apollo another shot. The location is too hard to turn down.
Nice condo, rude staff.
Condo was nice..... priced high in my opinion though. The staff that works here is kind of rude and the rules are extremely strict. However, EXTREEMLY safe and secure property, so that is a HUGE plus
Beautiful condo in a perfect location ! Will definitely come back here again !
Great location, beautiful view
Floor was nit clean and vacuum cleaner did not work.
Silver and dishes were okay , but all cutting knives were dirty. You need a new condo door and door lockes. Location was brilliant.
We apologize if the condo was not thoroughly cleaned-we have spoken to the housekeepers and are promised a more diligent self inspection of their work. The vacuum is fine-the bag was installed upside down. We have a new door and lockset, which was to be installed in Sept., but the contractor is way behind due to Hurricane Irma repairs and promises us he'll complete the work by Christmas.
The apartment is on the top floor of the Apollo condo. The check in process was easy & hassle free. The two concierges I met were very helpful & gracious. The unit itself has a great view. The balcony is spacious. The apartment is a little dated. The TV in the living room didn't work. It was no big deal. There are two other tv's. Couple of annoying things. You need keys for everything. Pool, elevator, front door , and unit itself. Make sure your hands are free for elevators. Also which is not in control of the owner. All shades have to be drawn by 9 PM. Sea turtles migrate on the beach below. So you really can't hang on the balcony unless your there in the dark. Apparently the Marco police patrol the beach to see if your compliant. If they spot any LIGHTS you will receive a fine from 1K to 5K! The pool is ok. Not the smallest or biggest. The apartment overall was fine for our short stay. Btw I don't give 5 stars unless apartments are impeccable. So please don't hold the 3 stars against the owners.
Pristine beach with breathtaking sunsets. Easy walk to watersports rentals, activities. Island marinas offer charter fishing, diving, kayaking, sailing, shelling, sightseeing, and Eco- tours as well as daily boat rentals. Explore the Everglades by yourself or with many offered hiking, kayak, airboat, buggy tours. World famous shopping, dining, and cultural centers in nearby Naples (30 minute drive). Multiple golf courses within 20 min. drive.
