This is the second time we rented PineCone Lodge. The house is clean and comfortable with plenty of room to find a quiet corner to read or enjoy a cup of tea.
Back porch is perfect for reading.
Location was perfect for us as we enjoy hiking, snow tubing, and downtown shopping and eating.
Fireplace is a great amenity as well.
House needs a few inexpensive upgrades...knives and perhaps some new towels.
We have rented homes in Highlands for the last 10 summers and this one was the best. The combination of the 180 degree view, the sunny south east exposure, the walls of glass in the living areas and in four of the five bedrooms, the great layout, the high ceilings in every room, the spacious garage and the privacy made for a totally relaxing five weeks. We loved the large wood burning fireplace and the fact that it had a gas starter. The Chambers could not have been more helpful. Southern hospitality as its finest!
Space was adequate for family. View was good with no leaves on the trees. Lots of small issues. 4 bath towels & 2 hand towels for 6 guests. TV and internet connection inconsistent. No ESPN for football fans. Fireplace trickles smoke into the house with the damper all the way open. We even took a photo of the damper to make sure it was open. Hot water tank only good for 2 showers. One guest questioned if her sheets had been washed due to odor. Lack of condiments for guests: No salt or coffee filters. The zip-line at Aerial Park is fun. Lots of great hiking and waterfalls. Would not return to this property.
Beautiful view big porch very private. We stayed for three days it was very enjoyable. The house is a couple of miles from town but it felt further out. I would recommend this house and would stay there again.
