A Romantic Vacation Awaits You On Arundel Farm, an historic property just minutes from ocean beaches, Dock Square and the Cape Arundel Golf Course. Dogs Are Welcome!

You'll think you've stepped back in time to an historic village when you visit stunning Arundel Farm. Discover your unique and private guest lodgings on a pastoral 9 acre setting right near the ocean and convenient to all area attractions!

While our historic home was built in 1790, your private and spacious guest quarters are on the entire upper floor of the carriage house built in 2000. Your accommodations include a large, high ceiling living room with cupola skylight, dining area and well equipped kitchen, private balcony with bistro table and chairs. Guest quarters include a lovely, light filled queen bedroom with luxury linens, and spacious bathroom with shower. In the Living Room the Crate and Barrel Sleep Sofa provides extra room for visiting guests. There is also a washer and dryer for your convenience. There are AC units in the master bedroom and in the main living area (to cool the living room, dining room and kitchen.) In Autumn radiant heating in floors make it very cozy.

The serene grounds include the historic main house, carriage house, historic 1930s Jelly House, scenic far barn, natural spring-fed pond and charming gazebo. Enjoy beautiful vistas with gardens and stone walls.

Arundel Farm is located just 1.5 mile from Dock Square and all shops, restaurants and art galleries in Kennebunkport and Kennebunk. The property is just a short drive to beautiful Cape Porpoise. For sun and fun, several glorious beaches are right nearby including: Goose Rocks, Gooches, Mothers, Colony and Kennebunkport Beach.

Our property is just around the block from The Cape Arundel Golf Course, a semi-private club along the shores of the Kennebunk River. Book your own tee time in advance and golf where many U.S. Presidents and other dignitaries have played.

The Farm is conveniently located to many other area attractions including Whale Watch Trips, Sailing Trips, Deep Sea Fishing, Horse and Carriage Rides and Horseback Riding, Kayaking, Bike Rentals, Antique Hunting, Summer Theater ... all just minutes form your guest house.

During your stay, remember to take a drive along Ocean Avenue to see the gorgeous homes along Maine's rocky coast. Or, better yet, see the sights by horse and carriage! You can rent bikes at Cape-Able Bike Shop just 3 houses down from our property, so you don't have to worry about bringing your own. Ride to town, beach and all points of interest in Kennebunkport and Kennebunk.

After a busy day, return to peaceful Arundel Farm and enjoy a cool drink on your own private balcony ... or stroll the grounds and relax before you get ready for an evening out on the town. There are an amazing assortment of great local restaurants.

We opened an art gallery in July 2016 on the first floor of the carriage house featuring the works of many local and national artists. You are welcome to join your hosts Julie and Paul for any gallery events during your stay. Please check our website for more information and schedule of events.

Besides summertime, visit Arundel Farm in the autumn to enjoy the spectacular foliage in this wonderful New England location. Arundel Farm is just 30 minutes from Portland, Maine ... 40 minutes from Portsmouth, New Hampshire and 1.5 hours from Boston, Massachusetts. We are also just 1.5 hours from the Lakes Region of New Hampshire including Lake Winnipesaukee ... a fabulous day trip!

With prior approval dogs are welcome to join you on your very special vacation (limited to 2)

Feel free to call Julie and Paul if you have any other questions about our accommodations. Please note that the carriage house guest quarters are on the upper floor of the carriage house and, unfortunately, is not wheel chair accessible or for those with issues walking up and down stairs.

Perfection in Perfect Maine!

  • 5 of 5

We could not have enjoyed our stay at Arundel Farm more! Julie and Paul are the consummate hosts! They have thought of everything you may need before you think of it yourself. The carriage house is spacious, spotless, and special. And the bed is as comfortable as any I have ever had. As if that wasn't enough we adored getting to know Julie and Paul. They are living the life and we felt truly lucky to borrow a little slice of it for our perfect week in Maine. Already dreaming of returning one day....

Our stay couldn't have been better. From the minute we arrived, the hosts, Julie and Paul, made us feel right at home. The carriage house was in a beautiful country setting, but only 1 1/2 miles to the main street of Kennebunkport. The apartment itself was very clean, comfortable and was equipped with everything we needed. The furnishings, dishes and linens were first rate. Close by were beaches, lots of restaurants, pubs, museums, and hiking and biking paths. Best of all was a nearby supermarket that steamed and cracked fresh lobsters at a fraction of the cost of ordering them at a restaurant.

Thank you so much, Julie and Paul for a wonderful vacation! Our only regret was that we could not stay longer.

We thoroughly enjoyed Arundel Farm

  • 5 of 5

The two of us, accompanied by our small dog, thoroughly enjoyed our several week stay at this beautiful location. It is truly a unique and scenic property with its well preserved and historic main house, and beautifully maintained surrounding grounds including wildflowers, a pond, and even a horse barn and paddock. The detached Carriage House worked very well for us.

Taking advantage of our central location and our outdoor interests , we walked almost daily to Dock Square in Kennebunkport, and enjoyed several and varied bike routes throughout the Town, and surrounding coastal area. We easily day tripped to explore either Portland to the north, or Portsmouth NH to the south…each only about a half hour drive from the location, and both interesting to visit. .. There are several enjoyable golf courses in the immediate area that we played, and we also explored several local beaches as well.

There is no shortage of excellent restaurants in the surrounding area. We counted no fewer that 20 that we visited and must say that we liked them all .

The Owners could not have been more hospitable. They were both gracious and accommodating, and they made us feel as if we were at home. Thank you both and we look forward to returning.

Great Property and Great Location! Perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the Carriage House for our 20th anniversary. We are so happy we found this rental! The owners are wonderful and very welcoming, making the rental experience very comfortable. This is a beautiful property and the carriage house apartment is amazing! Very clean and all the comforts of home. We stayed with our 12 year old daughter and our dog. The sofa bed worked great for our daughter. We had plenty of room and privacy. We loved the location - close to everything, yet far enough away to enjoy the quiet country feel. We had a great week enjoying the beach and town, and especially the First Chance Whale Watch. Love the area and truly loved this rental! We look forward to staying here again when we visit, and have recommended it to family and friends who plan to visit. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Fantastic property, couple and vacation experience

  • 5 of 5

Wow. We hesitated to write a rave review given we don't want this gem to become unavailable for our future vacations.

Julie and Paul are kind, wonderful, hands-off, accommodating hosts. Good people gravitate to good people. Thus all the positive reviews.

The stay was perfect. Spacious, beautifully and simply decorated, amazing property and ability to come and go as we pleased. No hassle. No fuss.

We brought our old boxer rescue and newborn baby. The washer/dryer and kitchen was key for us. As was the dog-friendly aspect of the rental. All worked out perfectly.

We'd be happy to recommend Julie and Steve and the carriage house to anyone. But you have to promise to keep this lil gem a secret if you rent from them so we can selfishly all reclaim our serenity when we need it by booking without the rental being sold out year-round. Promise?
