Just what we were looking for, and more

  • 5 of 5

We chose La Bodega for its location in a small village near the volcanic area and far from the resorts, and it proved to be exactly what we wanted. The jacuzzi room clinched it for us, and made it worth the extra cost, especially in January. If it was a bit cold and windy outside, there was this lovely warm, bright place to relax, in and out of the water.

La Bodega is converted from part of a lovely old farmhouse, retaining lots of original features combined with well-designed modern facilities. This makes it a very characterful, spacious place to stay. The big private walled sun terrace means you can make the best of the sunshine, with protection against the wind.

The twin bedroom is up a lot of stairs - perhaps not suitable for little children or for people with limited mobility, but it's a lovely room with marvellous views when you get there, and has its own en suite. The double room is on the ground floor with easy access for anyone.

We received a warm welcome from Petra and she made sure we had everything we needed. January can be a bit cold and dark in the evenings, but Petra is happy to provide extra heaters and lights.

We didn’t go to restaurants, although there seem to be plenty in the area. Instead we shopped at the supermarkets in Tiagua and Tinajo and bought marvellous fresh local produce for meals. It was lovely, and would be even better in summer with balmy evenings to eat out on the terrace by the pool.

Overall it's pleasure to stay in La Bodega and it's a good central base for getting to know Lanzarote,

Beautiful house in a lovely quiet village

  • 5 of 5

We have been to Lanzarote many times and stayed in many villas but this was by far the best.

The pool and jacuzzi are so clean and well maintained. The pool area itself is very private, there are plenty of tables/chairs and sun loungers as well as a BBQ.

The house is immaculate, we really loved the bedroom at the top of the big steps as it was nice and cool at night time.

The kitchen is well equipped so you just need to buy what food you need.

The local shop is small but well stocked and the local bar is great - tasty food and very friendly bar staff.

Petra is a lovely lady that explained everything about house upon our arrival, we never had any issues at all, would highly recommend.

We cannot wait to return next year.

A palace of privacy

  • 5 of 5

We expected a very nice house and found a palace.

The 'tower' room for the children, with their own excellent bathroom was up quite a few stairs. With responsible children, this makes for a 'private' space upstairs for them, while the adults have their own space and privacy at the ground floor.

With february tempratures of 20 and 22 degrees, the inside whirlpool in the sunroom, surrounded bij lots of sitting space was very popular. The outside pool was still heating up after reapirs. We did spend many sunny hours between the pool and the wall, safe from the wind on comfortable sun beds and chairs, soaking up sun and fresh air.

The help from Petra was great, renting a very nice car for us and advising on bicycle rental (try Planet in CostaTeguise), and nice little restaurants and shops close by where all necessary food could be bought, even in the evening. Since she leaves the house very well stocked, you can travel light and still start enjoying Canary life immediately.

We hope to return to 'our' palace often It is the perfect quiet central starting point for all visits and adventures on Lanzarote.

Untouristische Dorfrandlage

  • 5 of 5

  • 5 of 5

Excellent, perfect...

  • 5 of 5

Nous avons été à la Bodega pendant les vacances d'avril et tout a été absolument parfait: la maison, l'accueil de Petra et l'environnement extrêmement reposant. A recommander chaudement ! Merci encore.

We were at the Bodega house during April and everything was perfect: the house, Petra and the very peaceful landscape. Thank you very much for everything.

Car: necessary

La Vegueta is a small peaceful village in the countryside ,and is fairly central in the island. The nearest beach is at La Santa. The area is recognised for good wine that is produced in the volcanic countryside, and you can sample this in the local bar with Tapas. The village has a small shop and restaurant close by. Access to the large wine growing area La Geria and Fire Mountain is easy by car, and the main town Arrecife is only twenty minutes away. About five minutes away is the village of Tinajo, which has a Supermarket with fresh fruit and vegetables, meat and fish, a bank with cash machine, clinic, chemist, Internet cafe, bakery, coffeshop, bars and restaurants.
