El Almacen

Situated in the countryside, El Almacen will appeal to clients wanting to stay in a typical Canarian property and sample local village life, an ideal choise for those wishing to escape and relax in peaceful surroundings. The accommodation comprises of one double and one twin bedroom, a bathroom and open kitchen complete with oven/hob, microwave and fridge/freezer. There is also an open plan lounge with dining facilities that benefits from satellite, (limited), TV and Hi-Fi system. Outside the villa is complete with its own private plunge pool, barbecue and patio furniture.


About the property

Country House La Vegueta

The three villas are part of a large Canarian Country House. La Bodega was an original wine press and store, La Tienda (the Shop) was originally a shop, and El Almacen (the store) was originally a store for the country house. All the villas retain much original character and charm and have an attractive combination of modern style and features. La Bodega is the largest of the three villas in access of 120 sq m, and has a heated swimming pool and whirlpool (heated 52 weeks of the Year). The spacious area around the pool is private as it is walled. La Tienda and El Almacen are situated next to one another, but private with walls around their sun terraces both containing plunge pools.

Basic property in great location.

We were able to access most parts of the island easily.

The property was adequate but could have been much better.The equipment was basic, no decent kitchen knives made self catering awkward. Pillows on the beds were too hard and the heating provided was inadequate for winter months.

Petra was helpful in offering advice about local restaurants and where to visit.

El Almacen in October 2009

The cottage was superb with everything we required for our holiday. Clean and well equipped. Very central on the island, so it was easy for us to get out and about and see Lanzarote from "top to bottom"! We were made most welcome by Petra, who went out of her way to ensure that we were comfortable - she even escorted us to the local supermarket on our first evening. The swimming pool was delightful and so refreshing after our walking days out. The patio was extremely private. Lanzarote is such a varied island with so much to offer the visitor. Weather was superb - wall-to-wall sunshine, even in October! Many thanks to Petra for her kindness.

Ruhig, gemütlich, ideal gelegen...

Ich habe 2 Wochen im der Finca im Appartement El Almanecen "gewohnt".

Einrichtung:

Die Einrichtung ist sehr liebevoll ausgewählt und in ausgezeichnetem Zustand. Die Aufteilung der Räumlichkeiten ist ideal. 1 Schlafzimmer mit französischem Doppelbett, 1 mit 2 Einzelbetten (die man zusammenschieben könnte), grösszügiges Bad mit Badewanne/Dusche, ein sehr gemütliches Wohnzimmer, eine abgetrennte Essecke und eine grosszügige Küche in der es an nichts fehlt. Der private Poolbereicht ist grosszügig und man findet von morgens bis abends ein Plätzchen mit Sonne. Vögel die trällern, ab und zu Hunde die bellen, so geniesst man den Urlaub "auf dem Lande".

Lage:

Das Dorf La Vegueta ist klein aber fein und liegt mitten auf der Insel. Unbedingt empfehlenswert: Mietwagen. Hier hilft die Vermieterin gerne.

Einkaufen:

kleiner Dorfladen in La Vegueta: 5 Minuten zu Fuss.

Supermercado in Tiagua oder Tinajo: 5 Minuten mit dem Auto.

Strand:

Herrlich ist der Strand von Famara im Norden, welcher in 15 Minuten mit dem Auto erreichbar ist. Nicht ganz geeignet zum Schwimmen, da etwas gefährlich, aber wunderschön und für eine kurze Abkühlung zwischen dem Sonnenbad oder einfach einen langen Strandspaziergang.

Zum Baden fährt man auf die Südseite der Insel ca. 20 Minuten. Hier gibt es einige schöne, flachabfallende Strände. Nicht so touristisch und ganz nett ist der Strand (und Promenade mit ein paar netten Restaurants) von Playa Honda (gleich beim Flughafen, was ganz reizvoll ist) oder die Playa Pocillos.

Ausflüge:

La Vegueta liegt im Zentrum der Insel, von hier aus ist man erstaunlich schnell überall.

Besonderes:

In der Finca werden ab und zu auch Malkurse/Workshops angeboten. Wen's interessiert: einfach fragen.

Fazit:

Eine sehr schöne Unterkunft an perfekter Lage, ideal für Urlauber, welche etwas von der Insel sehen und dem Touristenstrom entkommen wollen. Für mich: gerne wieder!

La Vegueta is a small peaceful village in the countryside ,and is fairly central in the island. The nearest beach is at La Santa. The area is recognised for good wine that is produced in the volcanic countryside, and you can sample this in the local bar with Tapas. The village has a small shop and restaurant close by. Access to the large wine growing area La Geria and Fire Mountain is easy by car, and the main town Arrecife is only twenty minutes away. About five minutes away is the village of Tinajo, which has a Supermarket with fresh fruit and vegetables, meat and fish, a bank with cash machine, clinic, chemist, Internet cafe, bakery, coffeshop, bars and restaurants.
