House, 2 Bedrooms + Loft, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-6)
We are a family of four from Denver. My husband and I are environmental professionals who enjoy being active outdoors, cooking big meals and playing games with our kids. Our two boys enjoy relaxing in the cabin, finding adventures and hiking/ biking/ playing nearby. We spend summers river rafting and traveling as much as possible.
Beth purchased this House in 2005
Why Beth chose Allenspark
This is a sort of hidden corner of paradise on the Front Range - only 80 minutes from Denver (45 from Boulder) but very peaceful, dark night sky (stars!) and relatively untraveled, with lots of wildlife and great things to see and do. It's a nice alternative to the I-70 corridor mob scene and not too far from town if you need supplies. Great antique and coffee shops nearby. Cabin is just four miles (in either direction) from the Wild Basin entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park, and the Long's Peak Trailhead, and has great hike and bike options out the front door, as well. This is a quiet community of mostly summer residents, but is great to visit year-round. Ours is one of a few year-round weatherized houses in the area, and is bright and comfortable. The Meeker Park Lodge just up the road is open in the summer, and offers a small shop, square dancing, horseback riding and movies.
What makes this House unique
Our cabin is one of the newer places in the area - built in 1994 from old logs, with an open floor plan and furnished with antiques and comfortable seating and bedding. The floors on the first floor are all cork, with colorful oriental rugs. The large sitting room and open kitchen/ eating area are the main part of the house, with a high ceiling. Upstairs is a large loft that has a ping-pong table, a writing desk and a sofa-bed and futon. In the rear of the downstairs are two comfortable bedrooms and a bathroom, with tub, shower and a washer/ dryer. Most of the houses in the area are in the woods. There are fantastic rock formations throughout. Ours was built in a meadow with a pond and creek. From the front picture windows and large deck (also visible from the loft) the views are unparalleled. Both Mt. Meeker (the south side of Long's Peak) and the Twin Sisters area of the national park are visible, and change constantly with the light and the season. Pond is not fishable but attracts a lot of wildlife. There are many trailheads nearby! Guides to plants, animals and trails are provided in the cabin, as are binoculars.

Beautiful surroundings and the property owner was great to work with.
Songbird pond was the perfect place to rest and relax for our vacation to the Rocky Mountains
I have never been to this area and looking through reviews Beth’s cabin was perfect for my husband myself and our two teenage children. The information about the cabin was accurate. Payments , check in was super easy . Beth was available to answer questions. Her info and welcome packet actually answered any questions. The cabin was comfortable. We spent most of our day and evening hiking in the mountains. But the surroundings of the cabin were so beautiful we spent all our mornings at the cabin. The bird watching was wonderful . We loved the hummingbirds. Baby rabbits ran across the deck . The sunrise with the unbelievable view of the mountains was outstanding . Beth had the cabin so well stocked with linens and anything you could need. My son and I enjoyed exploring the property. My son also enjoyed the xylophone. The kids played the numerous games and ping pong .Plus Beth left many suggestions for things to do . My children enjoyed horseback riding at the Meeker Stables as recommended. I enjoyed all the books and the history of the area helped with sightseeing in the area. I was blessed to see a pair of Elk one morning . If I able to travel to this area again I will definitely stay at this cabin again. Beth , thank you for sharing your cabin . It is far enough away to keep you out of the crowds and close enough you don’t miss a thing . Just a wonderful experience.
Great Views. Quiet location. Active wild life. Great trip for our family of 3.

A peaceful break
Our family of four thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The aspens were beautiful, we saw moose, elk, a coyote and a deer, and enjoyed watching the snow fall while staying warm by the fire.
Peaceful,comfortable log cabin
We loved it. Husband and 2 adult children spent 3 nights. Plenty of room, very homey. Fantastic views. A bull moose strolled by the pond first evening. Heard male elk bugle at night. Great sky views at night also. Good hiking nearby at Wild Basin. Would definitely go back.
Perfect away from it all cabin with a gorgeous view of Mt. Meeker
This cabin was just what we were looking for. We enjoyed the serenity of the location, all the nature and the beautiful view of Mt. Meeker from the living room picture window. Beth was quick to answer questions and seems like a lovely person. We saw a baby bunny, chipmunks, lots of birds and even a coyote on our drive out. We will be bookmarking this cabin for future stays!
