We offer a peaceful getaway in a quaint log cabin. The suite accommodates 4 and is located on the lower level of the owner's home. Our location provides for both the adventurous, and for the traveller looking to de-stress to the sound of a trickling creek.
The chalet has a newly refurbished kitchen, and ensuite bathroom. After a long day in the great outdoors our queen size bed will comfort your weary bones to sleep. In the morning fresh ground coffee, teas, hot chocolate and breads will help you welcome a new day of activities.
Cross-country ski straight out of the door or head to the ski lifts just a few blocks away. Try your luck panning for gold at Crow Creek Mine or hike the Chugach National Forest. Pick up this year's gifts at any of the many local artist craft shops. Other sites worthwhile visiting like Portage glacier, Whittier, Seward are all within short driving distance.
For lazier days you can relax in front of the TV, playing the WII or reading one of our many books or just enjoy the company of good friends on the patio and barbecue to the backdrop of Mt. Alyeska.
We look forward to seeing you and share a piece of our Alaska.

My husband and I loved staying here. It was clean, neat, quiet, well equipped kitchen, comfortable. Had a great selection of books and movies. Highly recommend!
We loved our stay in Girdwood. This was just perfect when we needed a relaxing break in our vacation schedule. It was a beautiful area and home, very comfortable, great selections of books and movies! Very clean and and our host was gracious and knowledgeable. Well stocked kitchen as we like to cook. Highly recommend.

The owner- Laura is very nice and helpful. She gave us some ideas on some trails to hike and helped turn our disaster of a trip into a good one.
The rooms were nice and clean. The back yard makes you feel like your alone in the mountains. The Chalet was very easy to find- just type in the address into your phone or Mapquest it before you go. You have the option to use the main foyer or go around back. I liked walking around and hearing the creek. There is a door that locks after you enter through the foyer. We would love to stay at this place again if we ever go back to Alaska.
My only regret (other than we did not stay there longer) is that i did not ask for the muffin recipe. I'm not a huge muffin fan but these were incredible.
Girdwood was centrally located for all of the activities that we wanted to do and is a neat town.
It was a beautiful condo.
The bed itself was good but the bed frame made squeaky sound at each move and corner of the bed frame kept on hitting my leg so I got bruise.
It shares same foyer with the owner upstairs and room lock did not work.
The utility room was just next to the room so it made noise in the night so I worked up couple of times in the night.
The location was a little tricky to find. We kept on going into the wrong street.
The house is immaculately kept. The surroundings are fantastic with many possible activities. In our two days in the area we hiked the Winner Creek trail in nearby Alyeska resort, dined at Seven Glaciers restaurant on top of Alyeska mountain (highly recommended for the dining experience and the views). Visited Whittier in Prince William Sound (20 minutes away plus tunnel wait by car) and hiked beautiful Portage Glacier trail. At night we watched movies and enjoyed quiet times in this wonderful apartment.
My husband and I arrived in Girdwood on the first day of Forest Fair. We were met by our gracious host and off we went to rehearsal dinner and Forest Fair. We returned hot tired and completely exhausted. It was PERFECT!!! Every detail had been considered and provided. At the last minute, our friends, the caterers for the wedding, decided to stay over. The chalet was great for all of us. We walked everywhere, chilled on the patio and generally had a perfect 2 days! Thank you so much! We can't wait to return. Mary and Randy
