Townhome, 3 Bedrooms, 2.5 Baths, (Sleeps 6)
- english, german, spanish, portuguese, dutch
we like the local people of Mazatlan and had a great time to make the house ready by buying furniture from local carpenters.
Owner purchased this Townhome in 2010
Why Owner chose Villa Marina
Because off the nice beach, great for long morning walks and visit old Mazatlan at night and have a diner at one of the restaurants on the Plaza Machado.
What makes this Townhome unique
The property is close to the beach in an area that is called Nueva Mazatlan, a new development area with its beautifull boulevard Cerritos. From there many busses , pulmonias and taxis brings you to the Zona Dorada and to the city centre. When going for trip to the foothils of the Sierra Madre there is choice of many little places like El Quelite and Concordia with tipical Mexican restaurants. If you want to stay home and make a meal there is a fully equiped kitchen or if take out is the choice ,on the corner of the boulevard the little improvised restaurant can make you some tacos , tortillas ,quesadillas and pappas for a really low price to take home.

Pros. - Complex is clean and secure. Pool area clean and well maintained. Wifi and t.v. good. Plenty of hot water. Victoria the property manager was very helpful and efficient to deal with any problems. Alfonso was very efficient with the delivery of water.
Cons - Disappointed in the overall condition and cleanliness of the unit. Soiled mattress and pillows. Cracked and chipped crockery. Lack of kitchen cookware. Too far from the beach.
Our recent month stay in Mazatlan was made even more enjoyable by the condo...great water pressure, lots of hot water, mostly quiet, all the appliances worked well, fabulous uninterrupted internet, Canadian TV with all our favourite channels(hockey too!), comfortable beds, lots of towels, even a good selection of spices in the kitchen, real wine glasses, there was a vacuum cleaner for quick clean ups, didn’t even have to use the air conditioners...great air circulation. However, there was a lot of construction just outside the gate, on the walk to the beach...that will end in a few months! I feel we’re getting old because some days we felt the 15 minute walk to the beach was just too far..ha, ha! Taxi and bus service is excellent, in a great location as far as OXO stores and restaurants...just that ‘short’ walk away! The complex was lovely, secure, friendly and mostly quiet...during the holidays lots of kids playing in the street, and no view...the only drawback. The condo manager, Victoria, was excellent. She responded promptly to all inquiries and arranged taxi to the airport. Owners were very responsive to all questions, great to work with. Excellent experience.
Thank you Audrey for your review. Apparently you had a good time. The construction just outside the gate is going on for over one and a half year. Unfortunately the construction is not fast when you do everything by hand. Once it is finished it will improve the walk to the beach and buses. Every year the neighbourhood is a bit better.
I hope you have received the damage deposit and all is well.
Thank you for renting our place

Great location, property manager very helpful
Relaxing winter in mazatlan
My wife and I rented this three bedroom town from Jan - April, 2018. Complex is not at, on or near a marina, just the name of the street, instead located in a gated and secure upper middle class Mexican community. The neighbours were great, quiet and calm with nice pool that we infrequently used.... Security and grounds staff were very nice people, took their jobs seriously and the exterior was always spotless. We drove from canada to mazatlan and if staying here would strongly suggest driving down for a extended stay or if a shorter trip rent a car. Besides the closest beach being about a 15 minute walk away if you have beach chairs and other stuff, the car is needed, or I guess taxis.
The unit itself was good, not high end but served the purpose three bedrooms and three bathrooms, we had guests visit often and certainly with 4 people we never felt cramped. It was fantastic to have Canadian tv receiver there, world news, sports, etc.... Nice at end of the day.
The car allowed us to do our favourite things..... 1) explore beautiful little Mexican towns within 2 hours of mazatlan ( no tourists ) and 2) join a animal rescue group where we volunteered twice a week..... Both these things made our trip. While some of the driving in Mexico was slightly crazy overall the idea to drive was a good one.
I cannot submit without a special thank you to Victoria the units manager..... She is friendly and kind, she assisted any unit concerns that we had and when my mother was there at the end of the stay and we had left driving home she not only arranged a taxi for her but came over and made sure she got away to the airport without incident.
I should have gone on and on about the wonderful beach on the north of mazatlan, the loonie bean, surfs up Cafe, Carlos's beach bar, etc..... But let's you explore for yourself.......
John, We are happy that you had a great time in Mazatlan. We thank you for your wonderful review ,

Nice end of the year at the beach
We had a good time there the facilities are clean and kitchen is very useful so we saved breakfast. The house is close to nice public beaches and shopping center. They have surveillance all the time for the houses and the public areas in the swimming pool. Will stay there again for sure.

This is a lovely modern condo that comfortably accommodated our family of four with sleeping space to spare. The condo was clean and well maintained, the furniture is comfortable and makes you feel at home. The kitchen is well appointed so cooking meals was a breeze. The owners were great to work with and provided suggestions for local places to dine and visit. The owners also provided a friendly local contact for us, who was very helpful and appreciated his friendly greeting when we arrived. The condo is located in a family friendly gated community in the New Mazatlan area. The pool and common area is exactly as pictured. We walked to the beach within 10 minutes and enjoyed the beautiful sunsets each evening before having dinner. The beach is expansive and quite lovely for long walks, collecting shells, or just to sit and enjoy the sun and water. We did not swim at our beach access due to strong undertow. There is a convenient Super Mercado (convenience store) on the corner of the main street - the owner is very sweet and has a little of everything in her store. We enjoyed meals out - primarily dinners. Henri's, located in the parking lot of the Super Mercado at the end of the street is a casual outdoor dining experience with friendly service and fantastic food at a beyond believable price. Playa Bruja just down the road in Cerritos was a favorite location - fabulous shrimp dishes and deserts. My guys appreciated the fantastic food and huge portions at Pancho's, and sitting beachside at Chile and Peppers near the Fiesta Inn was great. We chartered a fishing boat with the Bibi Fleet and enjoyed a full 8 hours with our captain and first mate. We purchased box lunches and the crew provided water in an on board cooler. Our oldest son landed a 103 lb, 8 foot 7 inch striped marlin....what a fight and what an experience for all of us! We saw several other marlin feeding and jumping - spectacular fish. We boated home through a large pod of dolphin that swam with us for quite a distance, saw several sea turtles also. While the buses are the most cost effective way to travel if you don't rent a car....we often used the pulmonia's as the drivers were friendly and acted as tour guides...not to mention the open air experience. We would definitely return to this condo and highly recommend this accommodation.
