Your cottage is adorable, very comfortable, well stocked and gardens are gorgeous. Thanks so much for also accommodating our dog Baxter! P.S. The muffins were delicious
This place was amazing! Clean, adorably decorated and just right for a group of no more than five. Beds were super comfortable and the linens were soft and high quality. Kitchen was fully-stocked and had beautiful serving dishes for entertaining. Wonderful patio area with a grill for an evening dinner party. Laundry area was very clean and machines were new. All the beds are in the upper floor in one room, which cooled down quickly when we turned on the AC. The pull out couch was also very comfortable and was in the living area downstairs.
Bathroom was very cute and worked well, the water pressure was good. With a party of five, sometimes only having the one bathroom was tricky with getting ready. Owners are extremely responsive and helpful.
Overall, a great property! The only con was the cleanup before checkout, which is somewhat extensive--but expected when you don't pay any cleaning fee. This property is well-maintained and is a wonderful haven on a visit to Maine. Thanks for letting us experience this gem!
The pictures do not do this place justice! The moment you walk in its immediately relaxing and you feel at home :) everything you need is here, from seasonings to towels you are covered. The courtyard was beautiful, the beds were super comfortable, the bathroom shower is awesome! We brought a 2yr old and they had a cute booster seat and some movies he could watch. I cannot say enough about this place, we plan on staying again next year :)
First impression of the Hayloft Cottage is how clean it is, we feel like we were home the moment we walk through the front door.
The kitchen was well appointed with tools to delight any gourmet cook. The wonderful water pressure for the shower is definitely a big plus after a long day of hiking. We discovered a trail to walk our dogs steps away from the cottage and also enjoyed the walk to DQ for a quick dessert.
My daughter left her bathing suit behind, Tom and Linda were very kind and mailed it back to us. The hayloft cottage is definitely a place where we will stay year after year. Thank you for a fantastic week!
As my wife and I pack up the car and near the end of our two-week visit to Hayloft Cottage, I'm taking this opportunity to let everyone know what a special place this is. Having rented many residences through HomeAway/VRBO, I can write without hesitation that Hayloft Cottage is one of the top two accommodations we've rented. Most importantly, Hayloft is very comfortable, clean and decorated beautifully with a lovely, and private, outdoor garden seating area. Not an amenity has been overlooked. Bed linens, towels, appliances, pots, pans, dishware, etc, etc are both fresh and abundant. I still think the refrigerator - which DOESN'T contain any of the previous visitor's leftovers (we've had that before) - is brand new. The washer/dryer are equally as clean and up-to-date. And the WiFi and high-def TV's work without head-scratching, or calls to the owner! Also, on the two (out of fourteen) nights it was unusually warm, the A/C in the bedroom cooled off the space ver nicely...REALLY cooled off the space. Location-wise, Hayloft couldn't have been better situated for us. It seemed as though in whatever direction we were headed for our day's activities, we were never more than 30 minutes or so from our destination. In fact, downtown Portland is exactly 30 minutes. Plus, there are multiple excellent restaurants less than five minutes from the house on the main street in Brunswick. One final piece of info...if you're interested in working out while on vacation, there's a Planet Fitness about ten minutes from the house and they sell reasonably-priced short-term memberships. So, thanks to Linda and Rennie and Tom for really caring about your guests. It shows.
A welcoming, peaceful respite for out-of-town travelers visiting a large, extended family for a week. The Hayloft provides a clean, uncluttered, and well appointed stay for vacationers and also for those requiring a home away from home. The Gardens: front, side and backyard patio are refreshing--apparently throughout the seasons. My September stay was colored with over a dozen varieties of flowers, herbs, plants and trees. A Zen-like peace can be had here--and for times with friends (or sisters, as the case was) also a hoppin' good time. Short distance to restaurants, attractions, stores. Plan to stay again.
This house was just perfect for our family of four. We have two little girls, and were able to put them to bed and enjoy the patio and living spaces. The cottage is beautifully appointed and very comfortable. Fabulous!!!!
