The 2495 Bungalo was even nicer in person than we expected from the pics. Greatly enjoyed our visit. Also appreciated the quick response from your office when we got a minor issue - it was fixed less than 2 hours after I called.
Great place to come for the holidays. We have enjoyed our stay and this Bungalow is as clean as any we have ever stayed in. Plenty of seating for everyone whether they are inside or on the front porch. We enjoyed the many Christmas lights and decorations displayed in San Destin and around the area. Plenty of things to do. Great beach that offers great sunsets. I believe this is a great spot to visit any time of the year. Don't miss out, come to San Destin and stay in this Bungalow!
Beautiful bungalo, very spacious and comfortable for my family of 8. Loved the screen porch in the morning and evening to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. The golf cart was a big hit for everyone. Nice quite neighborhood, and enjoyed the night time activities at the wharf. Highly recommend this bungalo for your family's vacation, the owners were wonderful and made sure we had everything we needed for the perfect vacation.
This is not a sales come-on, like a thousand other tired sales come-ons, intended to persuade you to plunk down your cold hard cash on some ramshackle rental unit in Florida, where you’ll know with perfect, horrifying certainty the moment you arrive there that you’re exactly the type of person P.T. Barnum was talking about when he famously remarked, “There’s a sucker born every minute.” No, on the contrary. This is a true story about a transformative week we spent at a charming bungalow in Florida, where we bathed in life’s simple, unadorned pleasures, and came away with a belief that our lives really can be, as the Bard allowed, “such stuff as dreams are made on.”
And so our story begins . . .
Somewhere in the darkness on the edge of New Orleans, we fueled-up on a bucket of Popeyes fried chicken, two large bowls of red beans and rice, warm biscuits, and two Big Gulp size Pepsis to fortify us for the journey. Then we slid into the bucket seats of our mint, cherry red, 66’ Ford Mustang and sped into the night. Like the broken heroes on a last chance power try from Springsteen’s song, we merged onto I-10, leaving the pressing responsibilities and clawing gloom of our regular lives behind. We drove with the determination and unflagging spirit of pilgrims seeking a new world, through swirling tornados and savage thunderstorms, until finally, at first light, with the rain behind us and a breathtakingly beautiful, orange-red sun peaking over the horizon, we arrived at our destination, San Destin, Florida. We’d taken a flyer on a bungalow rental a few minutes from Mirimar Beach, on a quiet, cul-de-sac, shrouded in lush, green vegetation, and the melodious sounds of frogs and crickets singing as if to welcome us after our long, hard night of travel.
This gorgeous bungalow is a renter’s dream: we stepped onto the front porch, with its screened-in, long expanse, solid wood-plank floor, ceiling fans, and softly comfortable couches and chairs.
“Sweet Jesus,” I wondered aloud, “this is what it must have felt like in bygone days for our favorite television family living on Walton’s Mountain.”
“Good-night, John-Boy,” my wife answered, not missing a beat and without a trace of irony, bringing watery tears to my eyes.
I unlocked the front door and we ambled into an open-floor-plan living and dining area, separated from a kitchen by a long granite-top counter. We stood at the doorway and soaked in the ambiance: The rooms’ richly textured and understated elegan
What a peaceful place to stay. Very clean and just like the pictures. The area could not be more enjoyable and convenient to everything you would want to do on vacation, rest, eat, relax on the beach, swim, shop, walk, golf, etc...
The screened in porch with outdoor eating table made coffee in the morning refreshing and dinner in the evening serene. Will make this our yearly vacation place to be.
This was a very comfortable house in Sandestin for a family get-together. Sandestin is quite a scenic and quiet community, having restaurants, a golf course, fishing piers, tennis courts, nearby grocery, beach access, and shopping all within reach by golf cart (that's a hoot in itself). The house has large dinner table for the family and a smaller table on the porch. The screened porch is a prime place for visiting and catching up with family. We cooked every day in the modern kitchen; there were enough pots/pans/glassware/dinnerware/tupperware/utensils for us. There is a blender, but bring a food processor if you need one. A laundry room keeps the towels, etc. out of sight. (It did take me a while to figure out the lint filter on the dryer; my 23 year-old dryer back home isn't quite as sophisticated...) This house is just a few steps off of a three-mile loop through Sandestin; it's a great run under trees arching over the road/sidewalks. The surrounding houses are well-kept, and the area was quiet during April when we were there. A swimming pool is located six of seven houses away, but you probably are more interested in the Destin beach, a few miles away. Five days staying in Sandestin flew by much too quick; we'll have to budget some extra time at this house.
My wife and I stayed in this bungalow during our first ever visit to the Destin area. It was perfect in all respects. Located in the Sandestin Resort, it offered many amenities that would not be available staying elsewhere in the Destin area. First off, the bungalow was wonderful. It was fully furnished and looked brand new. It was very clean and well kept. It was tastefully decorated in beach theme with lots of comfortable seating, especially in the large screened in porch. There is a brand new 6 person electric golf cart that we drove all around the resort. We loaded up our beach items and drove it through the tunnel that takes you directly to the beach without every leaving the resort property. We also took it to the various fishing spots that we found throughout the property. There is also a large grill to cook the fish that you catch. The Bungalow Neighborhood also has its own swimming pool within a few hundred feet of our bungalow front door. There were also 3 golf courses on the resort property that we had access to. Immediately outside the resort, but within walking distance, is a wonderful shopping area named Grand Boulevard that includes a Publix for all your grocery needs, Starbucks, PFChangs, and many other eateries. There are also a variety of galleries and other retail within the shopping area. Several times we went to Baytowne Wharf within the resort. It has loads of restaurants, activities for kids and adults, and a great wharf to walk on to see all the boats and enjoy a beautiful sunset. We have stayed in various vacation rentals throughout the country and we found the price of this one to be a real value compared to others in the area and around the country. We had a wonderful week and we definitely plan on returning to this bungalow again.
