This property has been in our family forever. We hope that you and your family enjoy this home and the great outdoors of Grayson County as much as we do.
We love having breakfast on the screened in porch and having the creeper trail to ourselves since we are the closest vacation rental to the start of the Virginia Creeper Trail.
The location is spot on, you are able to ride to the VC trail within 100 yards. The house is supplied to accommodate you for all your cooking needs. We had 9 in our party and used Uncle Bill's condo (separate quarters next to house) to sleep all of us. You can sit on the porch and watch other riders go by or just take in the scenery. The hammock is a great spot to let the breeze put you asleep. If you like to take in some hiking nearby Grayson Highlands state park is within 25 minutes. The owners were fantastic to work with and great communication. We will be back.
This place was ideal! We kept commenting on how lucky we were to be right there at the top of the Creeper Trail! We literally were able to jump on the Top of the trail just a few yards from the house. The kids immediately began exploring the wonderful 2 acre grassy property when we arrived. They found all kinds of yard toys to play with and loved picking some of the apples from the trees around the property. We loved using the Grill and the fire pit in the evenings! The kids brought out a board game in the house that we had never heard of before...and we were all laughing hysterically! Its something like "jumping grasshoppers"...I highly recommend it for nonstop laughing.
Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook. We threw Tin foil dinners together the first night and cooked them on the grill. Second night we ate our leftovers from Mojo's Trailside Cafe, where we ate lunch after our bike ride. The Smoothies are Very Yummy! And we all agreed the Philly Cheese steak sub was the Best! I highly recommend stopping at the Train Station and visiting the river a few times along the trail. The area is absolutely Beautiful! We had Lots of Fun and will definitely plan another stay here in the future!
We loved this cabin .hope we can come back for a longer stay and explore more of the creeper trail.
If you want a place convenient to the creeper trail, this place couldn't be any closer! If you are bringing bikes, its less than 5 minutes from the door. We rented bikes, and the shop was awesome ~ dropped the bikes off at the house, and dropped us there after the shuttle back up. The house really does have pretty much everything you need, and Mike and Abby are awesome for local information. The house was clean, comfy, and all we needed. The added bonus features to me were that it was quiet enough to hear apples drop, dark enough to see the milky way, serene enough to watch two fawns and a mama walk through the yard while I enjoyed coffee, and close enough to walk back to the VCT even after turning in the bikes. If you go, it is worth checking out the wild ponies in Grayson Highlands too! I hope to be return!
We have stayed in this house multiple years and have thoroughly enjoyed each time! Mike and Abby have been SO helpful with any questions or needs we have. I recommend this home every time we talk to others about visiting the area, we wouldn't want to stay elsewhere.
The house is warm, clean and complete with all you need for a visit (my friend uses the griddle every time we come :)
The convenience to the VCT and other areas we like to fish is great. This past year we went to a few festivals and areas to visit that Abby & Mike recommended and it was so much fun!
Thanks for opening your home to us!

Walk or ride your bike around the curve to the Creeper Trail Zipline. It is a blast, and what a view.

We sometimes do single night rentals. If you want to do 1 night, call us and we can discuss if it is doable. Uncle Bills Condo is available for an extra charge. It is the white building in the photo. It sleeps four and is great if you need more room. It is $30.00 per night or a max of $70.00. Example ----- stay a week pay $70.00; stay 2 nights add $60.00. We do not rent the condo without the house. You are simply paying for more beds if you need them.
* Approximate monthly rate. Actual rate will depend on the days of the month you stay.
