The Keaau area is the jumping off point to see the Kilauea Lava Flow. Our home is the perfect spot to relax after a day of sightseeing. Our beautiful 3 bedroom 2 bath home has every thing you need in your home away from home. Granite counters and teak cabinets and an open layout make it a retreat to rest after a long day sightseeing. The backyard is surrounded by an Ohia forest, creating a place of serenity and privacy while cooling off in the in- ground pool. In the evening light up a fire in the outdoor fire pit and enjoy roasting marshmallows while gazing at the stars.
The home is located just 2 blocks from the ocean, where you can walk along the cliffs and trails. In the winter whale watching on the cliffs is a popular local past time.
The nearby historic towns of Kea`au and Pahoa both have restaurants, grocery stores and farmers markets. The snorkeling areas in Kapoho, the hot ponds and the lava viewing area in Kalapana are all with in 20-30 minutes from the home.
The open layout and design of the home makes it accessible for wheel chair guests.”
. The master suite opens out in onto the lanai surrounding the pool. It has a private bathroom and shower. The Kingsize bed has a Vera Wang memory Foam Mattress. You''ll want to lounge in bed all day. The two additional bedrooms share a full bath, one bedroom has a queensize bed and the other a full size bed. Plenty of room to share with friends and family. This is a nonsmoking home.

This home is NOT to be rented for parties, large gatherings, family reunions etc.. There is a maximum of 6 people including children allowed in the home. The home is perfect for romantic getaways, family vacations.
Please note Hawaii is in the tropics. We have bugs, geckos, and the Big Island has coqui frogs whose mating call can be heard at night.

We live just down the street and absolutely love this beautiful secluded area. Kola Point is an amazing place. Close enough to all the places to see but, far enough away to enjoy the serenity of the Big Island

The privacy is important as well as being in the 'sun belt'. This lot was so unique as it backed up to a beautiful forest of Ohia. The natural wall prevents any neighbors from being behind us, so the privacy is amazing.
Peace and tranquility. My favorite thing to do is to light a campfire and watch the stars. The area is mostly vacation homes and private homes so it's great to be able to walk or bike around without any traffic.
It is always such a great pleasure when renting a vacation resort to find that it exceeds expectations. We had a wonderful time on the Hilo side of the island and your home is part of our enjoyment. The house and location were perfect! The pool was such a wonderful extra for our three kids. They had snorkeling gear and bikes for us to enjoy as well.

Our family of four spent a week at this house and absolutely loved it! We debated spending the extra money to have a house with a pool, but it ended up being our favorite part of the week. The kids swam at least twice a day (several times in the rain). Maureen was wonderful to work with and very helpful. The coqui were surprisingly loud the first night, even though we had read about them. None of us had any trouble sleeping the whole week, but people who sleep poorly might want to have a noisemaker app on their phone. Everything was provided, even coffee and condiments. We would highly recommend this house to anyone looking to have a relaxed vacation in a wonderful location.
Beautiful bungalow in Keaau. 3 wonderful bedrooms and 2 beautiful baths. Kitchen is well equipped and we loved having the bbq in the back. Pool and back yard is beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and will be back again!
Returned a second time at this wonderful property for our annual family week in HPP. Cant recommend it more highly.
We've stayed here twice and hope to do so again - though it fills up early so we have missed a couple of opportunities. It is a lovely home with a delightful quiet and private back yard. The pool is nice too, though in February it's still a bit cool for frequent use. I love to sit on the lanai with a cup of coffee watching the birds exploring the back yard and occasionally dipping in the pool - they don't seem to have the same aversion to cold water that i do ; ^ ). The owner was particularly accommodating this time in helping with arrangements for us to celebrate a special occasion during the visit.
Only reason we knocked a star off is because the interpretation of the 6 person max occupancy rule. I didn't realize until after we booked that it meant no more than 6 people on the property at any time (6 people residing at a 3 bedroom house is pretty standard). We moved our planned lunch BBQ with my parents and a few family friends to another location. Other than that hiccup the place was really nice and well taken care of. I was born and raised in this neighborhood and the house and property exceeded my expectations. Awesome place.
Kilauea Volcano just 20 minutes away. The Kalapana viewing area is easily accessible. Don't miss a chance to hike out and see the lava flow.
Shipman Beach is nearby and many of our guests have hiked out to explore the beach and see the turtles. There are shopping areas 7 miles from property Hot ponds, whale watching and more.
