We had a great time at Bob's Way. The place was very clean, spacious, bright, and extremely homely.
It was a wonderful get-away for our group of friends. The gas fire place and outdoor hot tub were a treat!
The kitchen is well stocked, with beautiful copper pots and pans, heavy silverware and a tasteful collection of wine glasses.
The bathrooms and bedrooms are large, and the beds are very comfortable. The same goes for the living room, game room, and kitchen furniture. Overall, the house is in very good shape and everything is up to standard.
You can tell that the owner took great care furnishing the house.
The house is nestled against the woods up a small hill. It is secluded, yet central: Bethel is literally a stone's throw away, and both downhill and cross-country skiing are within a few minutes drive of the house. We had some snowfall while we were up in Maine, and the driveway was plowed promptly and professionally!
I can definitely recommend a stay at Bob's Way for the winter, but I could also imagine us coming back for a summer trip: The house has two very large decks, and a gas BBQ grill.
The property manager and the owner were both very responsive and showed us great courtesy in many ways. Both thumbs up!
We stayed here with the family for 3 nights in Feb 2015. The Temperatures stayed in the minus figures the whole time with wind chills of -23 one night. Too cold to ski so we stayed warm and cozy in this wonderful retreat. Plenty to do with a great kitchen, plenty of games and great movie selections on 3 hi-def TVs. The place was immaculate and the beds some of the most comfortable ever. The capper was the large hot tub which worked perfectly and kept the grandkids busy jumping in and out of the freezing temps. We had a great get-away from the mess in Boston, and would love to return if it ever warms up...just a little.
A beautiful, well equipped and spacious house. Definately our best rental ever. Kids had a great time inside and outside because there was so much space. Property manager was very responsive. Would definatly stay at this house again.
We were with three other couples and this home was THE perfect place! Beautiful, Clean, Smoke Free, Comfortable, Close to Sunday River, PERFECT! Had all of the amenities needed, I can't say enough!! We have all decided to come back next year for our anual ski trip. You truly felt at home, wanted for nothing!
Bethel is situated in the foothills of the White Mountains near Maine's western border with New Hampshire, in terrain criss-crossed by the Androscoggin, Wild and Sunday rivers. Bethel is in the top ten of the most beautiful villages of New England. More than sixty buildings are listed in the National Register of Historic Places and most are located within a few blocks of the town green and it's gazebo. Festivals, sporting events, world class skiing, and a snowmobililer's paradise are just a few of the vast and diverse activities that await vistors.
Summer and fall offer fly-fishing,canoeing, river rafting and off-roading all and more, while enjoying the mountain and lake countryside. Covered bridges, wildflowers and historic farmsteads are part of the meandering landscape where auto-touring can be adventurous and educational. Bethel is truly a four-season destination.
