WELCOME TO THE FLORIDA KEYS:) If you love to fish and dive this is the place for you. We have a large 2 story cottage on a corner lot. We are private renter. We do not participate in the resort activities. Those that rent our place do so for the fishing and relaxation of it all. Our unit is considerable less expensive than going directly thru the resort. If you want the total resort experience I suggest you go directly thru The resort.

If you want to sit on your back porch and 'chill' watching the water and boats go by, catch a few fish, hit a fishing charter, go diving, snorkel, hang out on sombraro beach. This is the place for you.

WE Have Internet and cable. NEW FLOORING ON THE ENTIRE UPSTAIRS! NEW KITCHEN AS OF AUG 1st. THE 3RD BEDROOM IS SEMI-PRIVATE We would love to have you as our guest. Thanks so much!

Guestbook comments from the owner

just wanted to let you the wonderful time we had at your Villla.Located in Hawk's Cay, located in Duck Key, FL. It is Location, Location, Location, It was perfect for us as our daughter stayed at the main resort. She got married their on Wednesday. The main resort is located right around the corner so we could walk to it, without getting in our car. Again location, we did not realize we would have a private dock to have boat. The dock was incredible to fish from, my husband is a passionate fisherman. He caught so many fish, our daughter and him had a fishing contest to see who could catch the most fish, we used the fishing equipment in the Villa as did not know we would have access to such a beautiful dock or that matter great fishing by stepping out the back door. The balcony on the second floor, the view at night sitting there and having a nightcap, looking out over the water was such a memorable experience. The resort itself has so much to offer. Our newest granddaughter had a session with the dolphins, she so enjoyed her experience feeding them. It is located on the resort property. I can see why our daughter choose this resort, it has everything you would want for a tropical wedding, which was her theme. We would come back in a heartbeat and stay in your Villa as it has so much to offer.

Perfect Home for a Family Vacation with an Awesome View and Great Fishing

  • 4 of 5

This home was perfect for our family vacation. This home has an excellent view and you can fish right outside only a few steps away. We have several teenagers and they fished daily. We figured we would have to buy fishing poles since we flew into FL but the home had fishing rods which was a very pleasant surprise. We went a month after hurricane Irma, so there was a lot of debris and damage all over the Keys. Fortunately, this home was one of the lucky ones and there was only minor damage. During our visit there were really no problems. We were very pleased and would be happy to stay at this location again in the future.

The house was in good shape and the location was perfect!

  • 5 of 5

Steve was a great person to work with when getting in and learning the layout of the property. He was very helpful in getting set up and ready to enjoy our time there. The location of Duck Key is great for inshore fishing as well as within 15 minutes either way on the keys to good restaurants and grocery stores to stock up. Had a great time and had a tough time leaving.

Great - but not perfect

  • 4 of 5

Very nice unit, clean, comfortable and in a great location. Enjoyed our stay. Owners were responsive. One problem - NO WIFI, as advertised. Calls were made in an attempt to connect - NO GO. Owner said it was an AT&T problem. No matter still no WIFI. So, if that is not an issue for you - I highly recommend. Owner said he would visit the unit to check it.

Divers, fishermen (and fisherwomen) and folks looking for Keys tranquility - COME ON DOWN!

  • 5 of 5

Place was clean, provisioned as described and the pix on the VRBO site do not do it justice. I am reluctant to praise it too much as I'm hoping it is available next time I want to rent it!! Don't miss out, this place is a gem. ES

OK, not awful but not exceptional

  • 3 of 5

Upon arriving, we noticed a very unclean smell to the cottage and the kitchen counters were strangely sticky everywhere. After a little TLC on OUR part, the stickiness and odor was gone. The floors, while appearing somewhat clean, were not. Walking on the floors in white socks immediately made the bottom of your socks appear black (uck). The bed room sheets were not immaculate but smelled somewhat clean; but the sheets had hair on them. We took the sheets off and shook them off outside. The cottage itself is very functional, plenty of bed rooms and bathrooms which is nice. Had what could have been a major problem on the first night, as we awoke around 3:30am to realize the air conditioner had quit working, it was easily over 80 degrees inside. The air conditioner control pad was totally blank with the exception of a message on the pad the indicated "replace batteries". Thank goodness for TV remotes, as I had to take 2 triple-A batteries out of one of the remotes and install into air conditioner control pad. Once doing this, the air conditioner system came back to life. Hard to believe that 2 tiny little AAA batteries could cause the unit not to work, but it did. Feel like everyone got really lucky on that as my wife was getting ready to call the owner at 3:30 in the morning! I can attest, we left the cottage cleaner than what we found it, but for the money & location, I would still recommend it, just bring a couple AAA batteries, a can of Lysol and some spray cleaner just in case!

Owner's Response: Summertime is a very busy time at our place. Turns are quick. We do take pride in our home as we are the personal owners and share it with others. Having said that, the comments reflected have been passed on to the cleaning crew. However, if We would have known this was the condition, we would immediately have it addressed and brought up to your satisfaction. I cannot correct a situation if I do not know about it. As of Aug1 2016 we now have all brand new stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops, and all of the kitchen cabinets have been refinished. Again, would like to have had the opportunity to correct a situation before a review of this magnitude was posted affecting my listing.

Great stay, condo clean and stocked with everything, owners easy to work with, price was great

  • 5 of 5

I've stayed at Hawk's Cay many times so I knew what to expect from the condo. I was very satisfied with the overall condition and cleanliness of this particular condo. The electronic keypad lock on the front door so you don't have to worry about carrying or losing keys is great. Everything we needed to cook and live was available around the house along with a few bonuses such as a couple fishing rods. I brought a couple rods of my own and left a new one down there with a new bait bucket to add to the owners own stock because I appreciated this. The back porch upstairs is a top notch spot to drink some coffee and watch the sun rise!
