Having shared my Irish Beach vacation home on the Mendocino coast for more than twenty years with return guests, including many 2nd generations, Carneros seemed the perfect addition. The convenience of its location to San Francisco, Napa and Sonoma, along with the variety of activities available to all ages, prompted me to start looking in the Carneros region about 8 years ago. The moment I finally walked into this house I knew I'd found my Casacalenda!
Three days in the wine country followed by 3 days overlooking the ocean in beautiful Mendocino County make the perfect California vacation! Please visit VRBO property #275652 to view Donna's Irish Beach vacation rental.
My husband, our adult daughter, and I stayed here for a few days in March. It's a beautifully maintained home in a quiet neighborhood not too far from the center of town. The two bedrooms were most comfortable. After touring, we loved sitting out in the private back yard in the afternoon and in the hot tub on cool evenings. The kitchen and the dining room were well equipped for eating in, and we enjoyed local restaurants as well. Our wine tour ended up being a private tour (as it was somewhat off season) and our guide picked us up and dropped us off at the house; so convenient! The cable service at the house does not support streaming from one's computer, but the owner provided many DVDs to choose from. Unfortunately during our stay, the wi-fi wasn't working so we had to go to a cafe to access our email. Nevertheless, we had a lovely time and would stay there again. Highly recommended.
My girlfriends and I went up for a few days for a girlfriends/wine weekend and really enjoyed our stay at this Sonoma oasis. The home was welcoming and Donna left a bottle of wine for us to start the weekend right! We spent most of our time outside on the patio (super pleasant) -- the weather was perfect and the hammock outside was extremely comfortable. The hot tub was the perfect end to the day. The property is well maintained and inviting. I highly recommend this rental and look forward to returning very soon!
I booked this house for 2 nights to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday. This house was great to come back to after a long day of wine tasting and shopping. It's private and quiet with everything you need. You can tell the owner is very thoughtful and accommodating. A welcoming bottle of wine (which was delicious) was waiting for us when we arrived.
My husband and I traveled with another couple to spend a weekend in Napa. We were looking for something quiet and homey for a little rest and relaxation. What a wonderful home! We had an amazing weekend and were just a short drive from so many vineyards and wineries. I enjoyed a serene walk every morning (while the others slept!), we all enjoyed the hot tub and cooking meals together, and we loved the farm life surrounding us. We would highly recommend to anyone looking for a charming experience in wine country.
My husband and I made a quick weekend trip with some friends and couldn't have been happier with this house. It's very charming with lots of pleasant outdoor spaces for relaxing. My only regret is that we weren't at the home much since we were often out and about. We'll be back!!
We loved our time here and couldn’t have been happier with our choice (4 adults). The house is convenient to both Sonoma and Napa, located in a very peaceful, quiet rural location. The house is well equipped, nicely appointed, clean, and had everything we needed to be comfortable. The outdoor space is beautiful and relaxing. The welcome bottle of wine was a VERY nice touch! Donna was easy to work with and very efficient. We have already recommended it to friends and will definitely return ourselves.
