My husband and I love our home in historic Old Town, Alexandria. We grew up in this general area and love the history and excitement of this area. We welcome visitors and know that you will enjoy what our property and this area has to offer.
Levin and Suzanne Kates purchased this apartment in 2011
This home is unique in that you can drive here and park. You can fly into a nearby airport. You will never run out of things to do in this area as it is packed with history and activities.
Free parking, only 5 blocks to King Street, a hub of fine restaurants and shopping, Sun room overlooking Potomac River. Best sightseeing in area. Washington, DC only minutes away.
We would like to personally thank all those who stayed in our vacation home in 2011. We enjoyed meeting everyone and truly appreciate all the positive reviews that we received. We look forward to repeat visits and hope to make your vacation stays as comfortable and accommodating as possible. We feel so blessed to be the stewards of this wonderful property and able to offer our home to those who wish to experience the magic of historic Old Town Alexandria.

We stayed here for a week in March while my daughter and I toured colleges. Having lived in the OT/Del Ray area for nearly 20 years, we know the lay of the land and what makes for a good rental.
This townhome exceeded our expectations. The pictures don't do it justice. It's quite a bit larger than one might ascertain from VRBO. From the entryway on the bottom floor, one walks up the stairs to the flat, where there is a nice sized living room to the left, and to the right, a long hallway off of which sit the two bedrooms, the bathroom, and at the end, a kitchen and sun room with dinette. Four windows in the sunroom face the Potomac, offering a lovely view.
When we arrived, there were fresh cut flowers in three rooms, banana bread on the kitchen counter, a bowl full of strawberries, pineapple and melon in the fridge and six bottles of Evian water in the fridge.
The home has it's own parking driveway, which is important in a place like Old Town, where parking is at a premium. The home has an Old World charm with wood floors in some parts of the house and antique molding. It is tastefully furnished and the beds are really comfortable. Plenty of down comforters and pillows for the two girls who visited my daughter one night.
There's a grocery store two blocks away and the home is within walking distance to King Street, Old Town's main artery with its many bistros and shops. The waterfront is two blocks away and there is a large park with a playground just one block away that has a lovely view of the river.
Highly recommend this home for a vacation rental. We were thoroughly at home.
We have now stayed in this lovely home several times, over the past few years, in different seasons and all kinds of weather. We could not be more comfortable anywhere, we feel. It’s always relaxed and cozy, we’re always greeted with wine and food, and you can’t find a better neighborhood. You never tire of viewing the park below and the Potomac. The owners, Suzanne and Levin, are the ultimate in helpfulness, pragmatism, and kindness. We have family in Northern Virginia who all love to visit Old Town. We look forward to our returns.
Beautiful house just a five minute walk away from King Street with its shops and restaurants, bars and boutiques. A few steps away from a playground and dog park.
The house has everything you need to enjoy your stay, and should you need anything else, the owners are always available to help you out. We were met with welcoming touches that were a pleasant surprise. We're a family with three very young kids and a golden retriever and we were very happy with our choice. Thank y
We spent four wonderful weeks in this home. Some of that time included another adult couple (family) and there is plenty of room for that. Consequently, this place would suit families with teenaged or younger children. People who have difficulties with stairs would be best looking elsewhere as most of the accommodation is on the second floor.
The kitchen/dining area has magical views across the Potomac and is perfect for catching the sunrise.
The kitchen is well equipped - we were even able to prepare a Thanksgiving dinner for four (Canadian Thanksgiving, that is).
Heating and cooling are quite efficient although I'm not sure about the bathroom in the winter which does not appear to have its own register.
Location is perfect for Old Town Alexandria and its shops and restaurants - all walking distance. There is a grocery store just two blocks away for most of the basics.
Getting to DC couldn't be easier via the King Street Trolley (free) and the Metro.
The only minor downside was the frustratingly erratic Internet connection - but that is really minor in comparison to the rest.
Suzanne and Levin were very responsive to our occasional questions and provided fresh flowers, sparkling wine and fruit upon our arrival.
Very much recommended!
Staying in this lovely home in Old Town is such a pleasure! The owners are wonderful people and the welcoming touches which they provide make one's stay even more special. The walks around Old Town, along the Potomac and a nearby park are very enjoyable. I do recommend this home!
Awesome location close to everything in Old Town down by the water and also close to groceries, restaurants, cafes, bakeries, etc. Driveway parking was also a huge convenience and very rare in the area. The apartment itself has a nice layout and is quiet. We stayed for a week with two toddlers and it was well suited to our needs. We'd definitely stay again if we come back to the area and the apartment is available!
